Meet Redhead, A Good Boy Who Was Able To Serve In The Police Despite His Short Legs
This nine-year-old Welsh Corgi named Redhead is definitely not the usual police dog. However, due to his powerful nose, he became one of the most talented sniffer dogs in his force, helping to find firearms and drugs. After seven years of his service, Redhead is now retiring from sniffing out criminals.

His owner, Olga Chumarova, first got him for her daughter. However, Redhead demonstrated his incredible sniffing talents and as a police canine handler, Olga volunteered him for a job at her force in Nizhny Novgorod. And that was the beginning of his seven-year-long career.

Redhead was quickly trained to search for drugs and catch offenders at bus stops and train stations. He even became a local celebrity as his breed is far from typical for police dogs in Russian police forces, which usually choose strong breeds like German shepherds. He proved that size is not all that matters.

Even though Redhead lacked the size and strength compared to other police force dogs, he showed obedience, agility, and talent for commands and tricks. His low height also helped him to sniff out objects close to the ground better. Now Redhead will enjoy his earned retirement with his owner, who promised that he will do sports and even dances!
