Shepherd’s Rest Goat and Sheep Rescue takes in animals from people who are terminally ill, disabled, going into nursing homes or have passed away. We also take in animals who have been victims of abuse and neglect. After working a decade in nursing homes, I saw the need for all animals to have a safe place to land, so their owners could have peace going on the next part of their life journey.
I hope you enjoy the pictures of some of our residents enjoying their best life in their forever home! (We have 90 in our care, you are just getting a peek!)

Hazel Grace. Goats are a matriarchal society run by a herd queen. All hail the queen!
Matt-he has lost 15 pounds on his diet since he has been with us. He still looks like a balloon animal from the side!
Lil Dolly-we have 2 ewes named Dolly, both came to us already named…so now we have Big Dolly and Lil Dolly. She is a baby doll sheep. This is as big as she will get.
Bella. She is a katahdin sheep. They are self shearing. She came from a horrible abuse case. We are glad she has peace here.
Honey-came from the same abuse case as Bella. She loves everyone and we love her!
Oscar. He loves to snuggle. The smaller the child who wants to snuggle him, the gentler he is.
Maple-she is a lamancha goat. Also the official tour guide when you come to walk with the goats. No visitor goes away without Maple giving them a back rub!
Max is Oscar’s best friend. He also loves to snuggle. He hates mornings and is always the last one out of the barn!
Thank you for the kind words! We love them all!
