Artist Creates Comics About Mental Health, Equal Rights, And What It’s Like Being A Woman (30 Pics)
Interview With ArtistLife is often complicated and full of strange situations. Relationships, work, family, and just everyday problems seem to overwhelm us and not work in our favor. It's hard to find something to look forward to and it seems like everyone is against you.
Bevs Boredom creates comics about these types of issues. She illustrates the daily struggles she runs into and puts a positive and humorous spin on them. She shares these situations with us so we can all feel less alone and realize that we all run into these types of problems. It's to laugh at them and try to see the positive side of things. That way we face the challenges that life throws at us head-on and are not afraid of anything!

Bev gave Bored Panda an exclusive interview. To start things off, we asked her what inspired her to start creating these fun, amazing, and relatable comics: "What inspired me the most when I started making comics was all of the awesome comic artists around at that time!"
The artist also shared what the main goal of her comics is: "When I started in 2018 I wanted a way to consistently practice my drawing and writing skills but now my goal is to help people feel less alone with things they face in their life."
Bev creates her comics by herself, however, she says that her boyfriend and sister are a big help with proofreading and coming up with ideas when she runs into art block.
Bev shared how she started to get into art and when she started creating these specific comics: "I've always enjoyed drawing, dating all the way back to me being a small kid. I used to draw Power Puff Girls way too much and I feel like that's where It all started! I started these comics in January 2018 and I hope to keep making them for a long time, it's really something I truly enjoy!"
Physical attraction is absolutely important, too. Let's not kid ourselves about that. Do we expect men to not have their physical preferences on women or not feel physically attracted to their partners? Of course they do and of course we don't. Women are allowed to want to have attractive partners as well. Also, age does not mean ugliness, and it is incredibly ageist to say so.
The artist opens up about what the most difficult part of creating these comics is: "The more personal comics are definitely hard in the moment and I always have the thought of being judged by sharing, but it's always met with such positive feedback by my followers. It's nice to see that we can all have a safe space to talk about things and know we aren't the only ones going through tough times."
This is actually somewhat true, when our brain is overloaded with serotonin (which happens when looking at cute animals, babies, things that make us happy), it has to balance itself out by creating an alternate reaction, often violent ones. Hence why the puppy is so cute you want to squish it.
Yes, it's called cute aggression https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cute_aggression

This is my life with the cutest cat in the world. Don’t get me started on my rabbits…
Bev tell us more about what topics her comics cover: "A lot of my comics deal with mental health, equal rights, what it's like being a woman, relationships, and my dog Mordechi!"
Bev shares what she would describe her style as and what inspired it: "That's a hard question, haha. I feel like my style is maybe floppy? Noodle arms and all, definitely took inspiration from Adventure Time with that."
Here's some more information about the artist and her life's journey: "I just recently turned 27 this past February, which seems so hard to believe. I've been working full time as a Graphic Designer and working towards getting my master's in 2D animation. I graduate this May so I'm excited to be able to apply what I've learned into Bevscomics and start animating more! I recently made a short horror story on webtoons called 'Love Letter' and it was something I really enjoyed. I hope to start making more content like that as well soon! I feel like life has led me up to this moment, I remember feeling so down and lost when I first started making comics but it has truly helped me learn more about myself and I'm proud of who I am today."
"I just want to say thank you to everyone who supports me, it means more than anyone could ever realize and I love you all so much!"

This is me. I cannot stop apologizing. "You don't need to run all the time!" "Sorry!" "And you don't always have to say sorry?" "I apologize."
Losing friends because they got into a relationship is both sickening and confusing
It's OK to have this joke/ metaphor but it must be clear: there are many signs should be interpreted by everyone to make you ask someone "Are you ok?" and react properly to prevent depression and fatal consecuences.
Best thing in the world you can do for introverts is to invite us every time even though we say no, because sometimes we will want to go but no one is asking us during those times XD
