Bored Panda reached out to Rupert to find out more about the “Off the Leash” series and the artist himself. We wanted to know how Fawcett became interested in comics, and what inspired him to pursue it professionally. We found out that: “I have always loved art and it was the one thing at school I was good at, I wasn’t at all academic. I used to draw for hours. Humor and comedy has also always been very important to me. Growing up, funny people and comedians were just as important to me as the pop stars of the day.”
you can say to yourself they are not going to DIE if i don't pet them....but then you look into their eyes and yes they are pet them!!!
Asked to tell us about his artistic background, Rupert said: “I was born and raised in London and went to art school when I was 18, I always dreamed of being a professional artist since I was a child. I have had many books of my work published and translated into different languages and feel very lucky that I spend my days doing what I love, drawing and listening to music.”
We were also wondering what influenced the artist’s unique style in creating “Off the Leash” comics. Rupert shared with us: “As a child, I read lots of comics and loved the Tintin books by Hergé.”
The comic series is quite relatable for pretty much every dog owner. Rupert told us how he comes up with ideas for his strips: “I am inspired by what I see around me but sometimes when I am approaching a deadline for a book, I struggle a bit.”
Lastly, Fawcett shared his advice for aspiring comic artists looking to break into the industry. He said: “Becoming a professional cartoonist and artist is not at all easy so you have to be very determined and never give up. I received many rejection letters in my early days. Good luck to all the struggling young artists and cartoonists out there, be strong!”
GoodBoi likes to be at the scene of the crime, like he didn’t do it…Sort of like Dexter in, well, the series Dexter
my dogs do that to each other-they will bark like someone is at the door and when my big dog gets up-will immediately take his place
They instinctively want to hide their scent from both predators and prey.
Yeah... Happened to my husband and our puppy with those big, big brown eyes...
my dogs do this THEN do the "dead dog" thing if i try to move them!!!!!
When doggo pulls face number 1 but you haven't yet spotted the issue. Oh the dread!
My dog (he's a big boi) demands love by shoving his behind into everyone's face and then whining if you don't (somehow) reach forward and pet his muzzle.
I stare to make sure they won't take off because trust me, THEY WILL RUN.
No, thankfully. I'm a pet sitter of 12 years and haven't had to deal with that issue yet. Occasionally, one of the dogs I sit for will get accidental access to the cats' litter box and eat the cats' poop and get sick, but I take precautions to make sure that doesn't happen. Most of my clients (the pets) are relatively well-trained. They have other quirks, but not eating their poop.
Load More Replies...God I hope no humans do that. That way they can't say they learned that from us ! 💩🐶🤢🤮
I hate to disappoint you butt... yah some fetishs are weird. Edit: oh also some mental illnesses can include pica, the consumption of non-food material.
Load More Replies...Last time we moved, it turned out the dog had gnawed a hole in the back of the couch and filled it with French fries.
I wash Buster's feet with the snow on the ground when he gets groomed in the winter. We have to walk a few blocks to get there and back so chances are good that his feet and belly are black by the time we get home!
I'm almost a year into owning my first dog, but can pretty much relate to all of these.
These comics are accurate, living with a cat plus all this x2 is great 😒
