Hello! My name is Peter, and I draw comics about the little moments in everyday life. Nothing is too small (or too big). Years ago, I started doing journal comics. These evolved into comics that observe ordinary events, and express how day-to-day life can hold a lot of wonder and emotion. I draw the things that provoke a reaction in me, hoping that I can connect with others who have noticed the same things I do.

I love storytelling. I'm influenced by great graphic novelists like Kate Beaton, Alison Bechdel, and Noah Van Sciver. I love day-to-day manga stories by people like Yoshihiro Tatsumi. And I always listen to The Moth! I've been drawing comics for a long time, and I love finding depth in seemingly mundane events.

It isn't always easy to find topics that resonate with other people. Sometimes I draw a comic and end up feeling like I'm the only one in the world who gets it. But the things that bring me the most joy, frustration, or other strong feelings are the ones that make the best comics. Those are the ones people relate to, and that's how I chose the comics for this post.

A malfunctioning part of a gumball machine (the flap) is causing the gumballs to remain still (inert) and is only starting to work correctly (belatedly) after a period of time, possibly creating a random pattern or texture (stipple) on the gumballs as they are dispensed

I draw comics to help me remember and share how something made me feel. Most of the time, they’re about happy things, but I also share things that made me angry, sad and a rainbow of other emotions. I try to be honest and share my true self so I can connect with my readers through shared experiences.

My dad is 86 and I treasure every single day. We have the same sense of humor.

The nice thing about drawing short comic strips about life is the opportunity to notice things even if they’re small. Something tiny but relatable can be very interesting. I think about things that are even smaller, that I haven’t drawn comics about yet—like the sound a paper cup makes, or the feeling of the second sip of a cup of coffee in the morning. There are always things to observe and share about the world, and I hope some of these things will resonate with you.

I hope you enjoy them—and I hope you tell your friends about the ones you like best! Thanks for reading.

Baby bottle: "thank you for the sustenance" Mommy bottle: "hush, child, for your travels begin soon. Eat for your strength." I need sleep... but I'm lying as down as I can 😓

Might as wel, but kindly and gently. Then be sure to listen intently.
