Someone In This Online Group Asked “What Famous Person Did You Regret Meeting Because They Were A Jerk?” And 30 Folks Delivered
Meeting a famous person just on a casual day when you least expect it can become a really memorable event. Especially if you encounter a celebrity that you like or even look up to. And the worst thing that can happen is that they turn out to be not like the image you had in your head.
Bored Panda has a couple of articles in which we collected some of people’s stories recounting their lovey encounters with famous people and if you would like to read them, you can click here and here.
But this time Reddit user moneybot13 wanted people to expose what celebrities they regretted meeting because they were not very nice to them. The thread got really popular with 47.3k people upvoting it and 24.6k people joining the conversation.

I once made a drink for Britney Spears at Starbucks (6 or 7 years ago?) and the experience left us all thinking she was an entitled diva...but with the info that's come out in the last couple years, I realize we had it all wrong.
I was on bar that day and I remember glancing into the lobby and thinking, "Huh, that chick looks like Britney Spears, only older and skinnier." She was gorgeous but looked drawn and thin, I thought maybe hungover or partied way too hard,
Britney is standing with her arms crossed tightly over her chest, looking at the floor, very standoffish. I call out the drink for "Dave," she stares at it, reaches for it, then draws her hand back to her arms crossed position, some dude picks it up and hands it to her, and they leave.
I catch my coworker on register and say "Was that..." and she automatically begins recounting her experience...which was that when she said "Hi! What can I get for you?" the bodyguard said "Brit, what are you having?" Though she was right in front of my coworker, she gave her order to her bodyguards, and although my coworker could hear it perfectly, the bodyguard repeated it. When coworker went to write her name on the cup, bodyguard held up his hand and said "Excuse me, do not write her name on the cup. It's Dave. My name's Dave."
My coworker was irritated because it was like she was invisible, she felt she wasn't good enough to have direct contact with her so she had to have some sort of middle man when they were two feet apart.
Now that I've heard about how little advocacy Britney has over her entire life, I'm completely second-guessing my initial reaction to the experience. It seems entirely plausible now that she wasn't permitted to interact with anybody during that outing. Extremely sad.
I applaud anyone and everyone who takes the time to examine their own reactions--especially when they think they have been wronged or offended--and instead can be selfless enough to try to understand just how bad of a day/life the "offender" is having. Whether immediately or years later. It's a rapid way to let go of stress, hurt and drama, and to get to forgiveness. And there is little in life that feels better than the relief from forgiving someone and letting go of all that pain.
Me and my sister saw Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, and Salma Hayek on the street when we were eating lunch. They were just coming out of a car, about to go into some building next to us. We had no idea why they were together but in retrospect it was definitely because they were filming 30 rock together.
My sister said "OH MY GOD IS THAT TINA FEY??" and Alec Baldwin turned around and went right in her face and said "dont f*****g say that, dont speak to us, why would you say something like that? You cant speak to us, not now". But it didn't really end there, he yelled AGAIN at us outside his building, saying "DONT LOOK OVER HERE, TURN AROUND AND EAT YOUR FOOD, F**K OFF". He sounded genuinely furious at us. Almost like he wanted us to yell back and start something with him. Honestly my sister was on the verge of tears, it was horribly embarrassing. Everybody knows, now, that Alec Baldwin has a history of screaming at people. But at the time we had no idea. Don't get me wrong, my sister shouldn't have yelled at Tina Fey like that, but the way Alec snapped was straight up scary, like he was about to physically hurt her.
Salma Hayek and some other lady who I didn't recognize came over and apologized to us. She asked if we wanted her to go and get Tina and get her autograph because apparently Tina felt bad too, but we said no. She then talked to us about the food we were eating, which was mexican food, and we ended up having a brief conversation about NY's lack of quality mexican food. She was INCREDIBLY charismatic and sweet.
I was the a**. I saw Don cheadle at an airport and was thinking about oceans 11 and said to my friend "dude it's Bernie Mac" and he looked back and said "no I'm the other black guy from oceans 11 but at least you liked the movie"
I like that the OP took the responsibility haha "I was the @$$". My lord. If I had a nickel for every time I was the @$$ ... well... I'd still be poor because they're nickels.
Not my story but a coworker’s story. Let’s call her Holly. Holly was a flight attendant many years ago and on one flight Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown were in first class. Holly was going through taking drink orders and politely asked Whitney Houston if she would like something to drink but didn’t get an answer. So assuming she didn’t hear her, Holly asked her again if she would like something to drink. Whitney Houston looked out the window with a disgusted face in response. Bobby Brown then said to Holly “uhm, she doesn’t speak to the help”. Then ordered for her.
IMO if you’re flying commercial, you are not hot s**t. I cannot fathom the level of arrogance it takes to think people are so far below you that they are not deserving of being spoken to by you.
Diana Ross. I worked in a health club in a hotel across the street from a stadium when I was young. She came in, looked at the pool (which was a really decent lap pool) and said, "My bathtub is bigger than this.". I replied, "Go back to your bathtub then.". She wanted me fired instantly. HR told me to go home for 2 days because if they fired everyone she wanted fired, the hotel wouldn't have any staff.
I used to work in a posh hotel in Canada (vague on purpose) and I had met many many famous people during my time there. Most were forgettable interactions honestly, but one stands out as the absolute worst. Chevy Chase. He is a trash human being. He was totally miserable and insulting to all the staff, and we treated him with nothing but professional respect and courtesy. If I ever meet him again I'll tell him to his face what a colossal piece of s**t he is. I can't watch his movies since. For the record the best celebrity guest for me was Dave Grohl. He's an awesome guy.
Chevy Chase is just angry because he's mediocre at best. At least that's what Bill Murray thinks; and I of course agree with Bill Murray.
Met tiger woods when I was 15. He slapped my hat out of my hand. A different golfer whom I didn't know ran up, picked up my hat and asked if his signature would be ok. I agreed but I don't know who he was or what his name was but my grandpa was pleased upon seeing it.
I have the perfect combination of bad star/good star. It was at DragonCon, maybe 2005? I'm going through the big autograph room, waiting to get David Carradine's autograph. He looked so mad. He didn't say a word as I told him how much I enjoyed his work. OK...I get it...maybe he was having a bad day.
Next to Mr. Carradine was Marc Singer, star of Beastmaster, V, etc. Mr. Singer is smiling, talking to people as they go by; he looks genuinely happy to be there.
Suddenly, a woman behind me stumbled and dropped a huge stack of materials she wanted autographed. Mr. Carradine looked down on her like she was a bug. Marc Singer jumped over his table and started helping the woman pick up her things. Didn't hesitate one moment, just started helping.
That's when I decided that if I ever became famous, I was going to try to be like Marc Singer, not David Carradine.
Marc Singer discovered the secret to happiness: the energy that leaves your body when you give of yourself to others is unhappiness. It transforms into something wonderful for the other person, and leaves you with joy. And joy, my dear Pandas, is a symptom of love. ;)
He expected my seat on a plane, he was our local news anchor.
Actually said, "I may look familiar?"
I said, "You're a merchant banker?"
FYI. In the UK ’merchant banker' is cockney rhyming slang for 'w anker'.
Jared Leto. I worshipped him as a teenager, mainly from seeing him in Requiem for a Dream and My So-Called Life and his band. But he was the most pretentious and arrogant person in real life. Never meet your heroes.
Prince Andrew, spent a lot of time around him about 10 years ago, as working at private social events he attended. The guy is a total prick.
Most of the royal family are ..... I worked for Margaret (HM's sister) for a short while a long time ago ; complete and utter c**t, rude, boorish, drunk and spoilt bitch.
I met Will Ferrell at a movie premier for a holiday movie, after the movie premier there was a meet and greet, and the actors were lingering on the main floor. I introduced myself just to tell him what’s up and that I enjoyed the movie. He looked at me with a side glance, and stated “get away from me.”
I was 12 years old at the time.
Jared Leto. Hit on my girlfriend at the time, and called me fat. His brother Shannon was super nice though.
Jared Leto. I sat next to him on a flight from Monterey, Mexico back in 2018. Absolute A**hole
Not myself but my mother. She met John Wayne. My mother is very tall and has always been taller than most people. Her school was invited to meet John Wayne while he was filming a movie nearby. Each grade level was grouped together and the younger kids got to go first. My mother, who was almost as tall as her teacher in 3rd grade stepped up to Mr Wayne and he yelled at her. Accused her of moving in line with the younger kids just to see him sooner. This grown-a** man yelled and cussed at a 7 year old girl. He was an a**.
I wouldn’t say disappointing as I never was eager to meet him but Drake. Drake was just unprofessional and egotistical when I worked with him both times. This was before he got big big, first award show type level. He’s told me to f**k off directly and I watched his mom calm him down from a tantrum.
My dad has been a radio personality for over 30 years and worked in country music for over half of it. He gets to meet celebrities semi-regularly. Apparently Keith Urban was really nice, Carrie Underwood was kind of mediocre bc he caught her right after her performance and she was tired.
But Kenny Chesney "puts the D in D-bag" (direct quote from my dad). Kenny promised to sign some pictures, tshirts, etc for a couple of kids who won a game through the radio. Kenny instead took a bunch of groupies into one of the back rooms of the radio station with a bottle of whiskey and locked the door. When my dad tried to get him to open the door and fulfill his end of the deal, he called the cops on my dad and he was lucky enough to get a cop who was a good acquaintance. Cop said there wasn't much he could do other than make Kenny leave. So that's what he did.
Kids never got their stuff signed so my dad gave them some coupons for free pizza. He said that after a few years other radio hosts told him they had similar encounters.
I met James Brown back in the 80s when I lived in Vail. The man was dissatisfied with everything and generally drunk. Absolute flip side was meeting Mr. Rogers when I was at Pitt. That man was the real deal.
I s**t you not, my mom met Bill Cosby once. She said that he kept hitting on her friend.
Ray Romano!! Met him at a carnival like 12 years ago and he was a complete d**khead. I asked someone who was within proximity if it was indeed Ray Romano, and he hears me ask then turns around and says “oh hey look it’s ray Romano” with a sarcastic tone and my father said “you don’t have to be rude” and his reply was “your kid doesn’t have to talk to f*****g strangers either, good job dad” and he walked off just babbling bull***t to himself. Kinda s****y since I spent some years watching his damn show.
Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian, we met them in Cancun, they were snobby and stuck up (this was right after Mason was born), they had no interaction with Mason and the nanny did everything. They were SUPER offended that not everyone at the airport knew who they were.
James Franco, though I technically didn't meet him but sat in on a panel he did at a film festival. I was in HS and was at the festival with 3 friends, when we got word he was doing a Q&A about one of his movies that thad just come out and we got really excited. We waited over an hour to get in to see the panel.
We were let into the room where we waited another 45 min for him to show up. When he did show up boy looked ROUGH. It was almost 4pm and he looked beyond hung over. His clothes were dirty, he obv hadn't showered, and he spent more time talking to the floor than anything else. But the cherry on top? His ego could have filled the room. Every question that was asked he made into a story about how great he was, both actor, director, and producer. I do think some of his stuff is funny, but he's a B actor at best.
I remember clear as day some woman asked him to describe a role that was "challenging for him and how he over came it" he just laughed at her.
The Q&A ended up being so boring I fell asleep in my chair. 0/10
It does sound like he used cocaine before he met you. But maybe he is just a narcissist.
Bill Nye the science guy.
I was on a field trip in middle school and our teacher saw him. She politely asked if he could say something to us or just say hi- we always watched him in science class. He told her to f**k off and basically berated her for bothering him and asking him to speak to a bunch of kids.
I’m not sure if he was just having a bad day, but it was not the best experience as a child.
Met Kevin Kostner and Clint Eastwood when they were filming near Austin. I was waiting tables. Kostner was a jerk. He did do some stuff that waiters hate. Like shaking his glass for a refill. With attitude. Stuff like that. Especially in a situation where I gave them their own space and no competition for my service.
Justin Bieber. This was circa 2009-2010ish. He had a meet and greet for a select number of fans (mostly teenage girls) in which I won tickets through the radio. As a 14 year old girl OBSESSED with JB I was so excited to be in the same room and take a picture with him. He was incredibly rude with every question asked and when it came time to take pictures he said no one was allowed to talk to him. His demeanor totally rubbed me the wrong way but his concert later that night was amazing so I decided that he may be a s**t human but he is a damn good performer.
Bill cosby, before all his rapeyness was publically known. He came to the restaurant in dc where I was a hostess. I came to get him for his table and he said "did you need a college degree for this job?" Erm, no, man. Have you never met a server before?
Op was a woman. That's quite enough for Bill Cosby to try to humiliate her. If you're searching for the definition of misogynist, think Bill Cosby.
Bobby flay, we paid hundreds of dollars to go to a fancy event he was participating in. Waited for a long a** time to just meet him and say hi, he looked at us and walked away. Was a d**k about it too
Reggie Jackson. He was a childhood idol of mine.
I got the opportunity to get a photo with him at some booth at a trade show called “Internet World” years ago during the dot com boom. No one was in line to get pictures with him so I walked up to get a photo while he was apparently trying to get the girls in the next booth over to sleep with him.. He acted all bugged that I asked for a photo, even though that is what he was hired for and rolled his eyes.. I guess he thought I c**k blocked him by just showing up in line to get a picture. I tossed the picture in the trash once I got it. Later that day I got a ball signed by Steve Garvey who was super nice. He replaced Reggie Jackson as my hero that night.
Bill Nye. Meet him when I was like 10 years old. He was a complete a**hole
Will Smith was a total a**hole when I met him at least. I didn’t say anything to him but he openly ignored anyone who just wanted to say hi and had this attitude of a “oh I’m richer than you”.
It was at a football game for one of kids. He acted snobby, walked in front of people, didn’t say excuse me, acted like he owned the place. Didn’t really cheer or say anything either. Maybe I caught him on the wrong day or something and he’s probably a nice guy but that was my one and only experience with Will Smith.
It never ceases to amaze me how people expect famous people to always be warm, receptive to random stranger contact, in the mood for interruption or space invasion, when they would never expect that of someone they know personally.
Can we get a opposite one? Like top 50 nice celebrities stories? . . . 1-50 all Keanu Reeves.
Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward were quiet, polite, stand-offish,, but that's b/c they just wanted to walk down the street, go into the restaurant, and have a nice meal. But when I said, "Oh my gosh, you're two of my favorite ever actors" (like the dork I am), they both thanked me very politely. And then I wanted to hide under a rock.... Felt like an a**, but they were gracious as all get-out.
I can understand some celebrities that get really jaded and tired of dealing with people constantly harassing them. No excuses for the ones that were assholes from the start or try to use their fame to get special treatment though.
Taylor Swift! Saw this tall, all dolled up chick in the Orlando Airport strutting with a guitar case while this poor woman struggled to keep up carrying all these bags. Found out she was on my flight to Nashville. She shouted obscenities to what I nw realize was her mother as if she was a slave. She obviously thought she was hot stuff before she actually was. It was a few weeks later I saw her Target commercials promoting her first album. Bitch, don't treat Mom that way
James Hatfield from Metallica was the worst for me. I was backstage at a show in 2000, and he was playing table tennis w some guy. A bunch of us were just standiny there, waiting for him to acknowledge us so we could get pix and autographs, since it was a meet and greet. After about 15, with all of us looking at each other, wondering if anybody was going to say anything, I spoke up. I told him the show was awesome that night and they sounded incredible, blah blah blah. Asked him if ~~when he was done w his game~~ he could give us some autographs or pics. He stopped playing, looked at me, took a huge chug of his beer (sober my ass), and said, "I'm in the middle of a game." And he went back to playing. 10 minutes later, he stopped, refused pics, and scribbled his name on a few pieces of paper, and went back to his game. Meanwhile, Lars, who I assumed would be a complete d**k from what I had heard over the years, was just a regular guy who asked if we enjoyed the show. Kirk had a reall conversation w us about the show and the other bands that played that night, and Jason didnthe same, plus let me fangirl babble at him and gave me a hug when we left.
How about celebrities who are nice? We saw Whoopi Goldberg in the San Antonio river walk years ago and she was so friendly! She was just sitting there eating dinner with someone but she smiled and greeted everyone who talked to her. A group of young girls came up and were so excited to meet her and she posed for pictures with all of them. If I'm ever famous, that's how I'm going to be.
I met Adam West and Ray Parks at cons a couple times (once as a guest and once as a con worker) and they were great. Billy Dee Williams was probably the worst I've encountered. He refused to sign anything but the head shots, no posters or toys. These people paid for him to sign something and he refused. He was a general d**k and looked down on people. If it was a street encounter then yeah I'd understand the dismissive attitude but he was paid to do this and got booth sales.
I honestly don't know who a lot of these people are ( don't have at much attention to the celebrity world) and I'm just appalled at some of their behavior! I'm hoping they were just caught on the wrong day
A guy I used to work with was serving drinks at a Formula 1 race or something. Ralf Schumacher ordered drinks and went to leave without paying. The guy said "That'll be €10." Ralf replied "Don't you know who I am?" My mate answered, "Yes, that'll be €10." He paid up.
It is not ok to use people to make yourself rich and famous then turn around and treat them like garbage.
Why is Barbra Streisand's picture on the headline but she's not in the article???
I worked in radio and TV for about 20 years and have met a lot of celebrities. Since the article trashes those who deserve trashing, I'll share some who were pretty decent folks. Top of the list: Joe Namath. When I walked into the booth to anchor a newscast, he stuck out his hand and said, "Hi! My name's Joe. What's yours?" Decent chap. Judy Collins - Nice in a quiet way. Jimmy Carter - Perfect gentleman; our best ex-President. Julia Child - An absolute joy! Lively, funny, and sadly, now gone. Richard Roundtree -- Had a nice chat at an airport bar while we were waiting for our flight. Had no idea who he was until he left and a lady came up to ask me if I knew who I'd been talking to. He was probably glad to have a normal, non-celebrity-centered conversation. Cloris Leachman - Very nice, very humble about her many successes. Rick Steves - Always a gracious gentleman.
I hate posts like this. You can never be sure if these stories are embellished or completely made up. And sh*t man, everyone is entitled to a bad day every once and while. Especially when every single damn time you leave the house people are gawking at you like you're an attraction at the zoo. I'm not trying to defend being a chronic a$$hole, but some of the just random one-off stories do nothing but make a potentially good person look horrible. I'm not surprised by some of them - everyone knows Chevy Chase, James Franco and Gene Simmons are d*cks, but "yeah I saw Bobby Flay and he didn't say hi to me!". C'mon man.
Jean Claude Van Damme was a total asshat. He came into a doctors office I used to work for. He was rude and condescending from the get go. He didn't want to fill out his paperwork so I was asked to assist. I asked him the questions and he replied sarcastically and said to his wife (at the time), "this is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to her". Not by a long shot buddy! I have to stay after work to deal with your lame ass when I could be home with my family.
For the Dallas Cowboys who are on here and were jerks, not all of them are. Too Tall Jones. Such a wonderful guy. He was a very good friend of a musician friend of mine. Always a great laugh because of the height difference when they were together. My friend was only 5ft 3in! My friend died in a drowning accident. The "wake", musical celebration of his life was packed. Too Tall was there. He sat all by himself, drinking. Didnt interact with anyone. No one bothered him. We all knew not to. Not because he's a snob, but because he was so very upset at my friend's death he just wanted to be alone with it.
After a play, we waited with our 15 year old daughter to see David Ogden Stiers so she could get his autograph on an Army jacket. She wss a huge fan of MASH and had gotten autographs from many cast member over the years. They were all very warm and friendly. Mr. Stores was not. He doesn't sign autographs. He was also very nasty to her. On the other hand, she'd talked to Tony Shaloub twice in stores in our area. He could not have been dearer or more friendly. He is the best!
Must of these stories are just: "I met a famous person, and they were a d**k."
I met Stan Lee several times at various comic conventions. He was always polite and friendly and showed his sense of humor. Once I heard him advise a con organizer to remember that fans were why they had jobs. But even that he did in a funny way.
Went to a show at the Indiana State Fair. Dierks Bentley (country singer) was performing. Dierks was very new, he stayed after the show to sign autographs for EVERY fan in line, I got his autograph and a picture, he was super nice. Don't know if he's still like that after much bigger fame and success.
I've worked in a few retail jobs and have encountered local celebrities, like news anchors and such. I always liked to act like I had no idea at all who they were. I met one while working the counter at an auto service shop. I asked his name (I knew it) just because I could.
With fame comes responsibilities, and sometimes limitations. The same that complain now will be the same who later will go to great lengths to be noticed.
Being rude to staff in hotels, restaurants and planes etc is inexcusable. Manners cost nothing and no one should believe themselves to be above treating others as human beings. I can understand celebrities not wanting to be bothered every time they stick their nose out their door, on the other hand, they live a very charmed life from the money made from their fans, some gratitude is only humble.
Our son absolutely worshiped Nolan Ryan. And Mr. Ryan was an absolute saint around his fans. He would sign autographs, talk to them, complement them, he was great. The season he threw two no-hitters was the best year, our son got a jersey with Ryan's number on it and Mr. Ryan very graciously signed it. It is our son's greatest treasure.
When I was a kid one of my favourite authors was Emily Rodda. I finally got to meet her as an adult, and she was so rude she literally walked away while I was talking to her without so much as an "excuse me". At the time I thought maybe I'd done something wrong, but later on I found out she was even more rude to a friend of mine, completely unprovoked. Never meet your heroes. :(
I had to haul Wayne Newton around for a couple days back around 2000. He was cool, had me bring my wife's aunt and grandma backstage to meet him. Very gracious dude. His security guy Bear was cool too. Couldn't figure out why Wayne traveled with 3 f*****g barracudas. His wife, her mom, and sister. What a bunch of angry and pretentious c***s. No one ever heard of these bitches, aside from one being married to Wayne, yet they acted like entitled royalty. Well, tried to. No matter how famous you might be out there, in the middle of South Dakota you ain't s**t. Literally no one cares who you are. You're just another person...
some of these I can understand because some days we are all humans and not the nicest people on earth. I'm not standing up for any of these people in any way nor excusing their behaviour but I know I have probably acted like that in the past on a bad day although I regret it now. and I know that if I was in their position and random strangers just started invading my space I would flip out. sure there is no excuse to treat people badly but sometimes you have to realise everyone is a human being and everyone had their bad days.
Met Corey Taylor, singer of slipknot after won tickets for a private show while living in Baltimore about 8 yrs ago. He was so freaking nice, it surprised me. My little sisters name is Taylor, and her birthday was the day before. He signed an autograph for me to give her, ' happy birthday Taylor from Corey Taylor". Got us guitar picks, and we frames everything for her. Took a pic with me, because my sister thought I was blowing smoke up her ass. Totally surprised me. Talked with us for about 15mins. Probably the only and last time I'll ever be able to actually meet him, but such a nice , down to earth guy. Doesn't drink, tried to buy him a drink, got him a water instead. Talked to us about his child. Not every celebrity are assholes, and I was happy to have been able to get my little sister that for her birthday.
I was an Immigration Inspector in Miami in 97. The line of booths face each other and we mostly knew each other. My friend yelled to me in the next booth, "Hey, this is Tyra Banks!" She had the most annoyed look as she turned toward me. I said, "Who is Tyra Banks?" ( I knew) She really, really looked annoyed at that. Made me smile.
I would say the same thing I said to someone who stated that they expected celebrities to "always be gracious" - Basically... Regardless of what you do for a living, it is generally a good idea to be at the *very least* cordial. I mean... if I'm walking down the street and ask someone for the time or if they passed by a coffee shop... I don't expect them to say "F**k off!!!". Now - when the celebrities are **on the job** meaning, they're at a table getting PAID to sign autographs/interact with fans... I'd expect them to be AT LEAST professional. Warm? No, maybe they're not like that. Swearing at someone, basically NOT doing their job (like refusing to sign an autograph 'just because') Even if it's just a tight-lipped "hello", signing, then signalling to their handler 'please move them along' is enough. Just like in ANY job unsolicited aggression and rudeness is NOT okay. I mean... what do you think would happen to the cashier who, for no reason throws your change in your face?
Mum said about how creepy Jimmy Saville was when he visited the hospital ward she was on after having her appendix taken out at 14 years old. She said he insisted on kissing all the girls because every young girls dream is to meet a famous person. Any charity work mentioned about him mum always said the same comment. When it exploded in the news about what he did, she wasn't surprised and was annoyed he was allowed to get away with it for so long. She met him early 80s.
I'm suprised that Eddie Murphy is not on there he is a nightmare to be around
Anybody else expecting to see Keanu Reeves to pop out of nowhere on this post and was glad he didn't?
I’d only heard of of few of these people but most of the ones I knew I kinda expected, but Will feral and Will Smith were kind of surprising
I've only met a handful of celebrities in my life, but luckily they were all very nice. Very humble and "normal." I'm guessing the ones who aren't nice are full of themselves and think they are better than the rest of us.
There is no one on this list that I would ever want to meet, tbh. The only one that bothers me is Will Smith, because he always struck me as being such a nice guy.
My encounter was far different. I met Jason Dohring in Yosemite National Park. At the time, I didn't know who he was. He was cool about that. A very humble man.
Somehow I have trouble believing "I met that celebrity once; they were a jerk" Except Bill Cosby, he's the biggest jerk around for reasons obvious to anyone with a brain cell.
When I worked at a restaurant I had all kinds of famous people at my tables. I ignored their fame, they ignored me and it worked out great. Some I was friendly with, like Santana, Stevie Nicks, the guys from Huey Lewis and the News, and a bunch of others. One thing I have learned is that they are human and sometimes they have bad days. Also, being recognized and treated as a family member everywhere you go can get annoying very quickly.
When I was a kid, my dad took me to a charity event, 'Actors and Others for Animals'. I got to meet and get an autograph from Rebecca Schafer, and a few others. Billy Crystal was there but refused to leave his table at all. The celebrities came out to the fence line where we regular ppl were. Other celebrities were saying he has issues and joking on him. Like, why come if you're going to not participate and just be a bum. I get leaving celebrities alone, they deserve to go out in the world and not get bothered. But if they consent to an event that involves the public, and don't participate, ppl could think less of them. No reason to be a jerk.
My grandma was a huge country music fan, and a fan of Hee-Haw. There was an event she got to attend, and she was so happy. She got the chance to meet Junior Samples and get his autograph. I guess a lot of people were waiting, and Jr. came out of his dressing room, and said " get these b***chs away from me. Broke my grandma's heart. How very effing dare he.
I'm surprised that Kevin James aka Paul Blart was'nt on the list. He's a complete d*ckhead, apparently.
I wonder though, how people complaining about 'famous people' would like a constant stream of strangers coming up to them when they are out and about??
Celebs are people, and some people are a-holes and some are not. Sometimes people have a bad day, but some are just miserable people. The thing is, you cannot have only the good side of fame with out some of the bad. All celebs have to deal with unwanted or ill timed attention. Some just handle it better than othes.
I’m not really disappointed by the famous people on this post:maybe they were having a bad day, I don’t know. What I am disappointed about is that I knew about three out of 50 people and I feel really annoyed with myself about it.
A few years ago I would have supported this thread but now I know these people (celebs) don't live on a different platform. Some had difficult childhoods, others exposed to the public way too young, plus the pressure to always look superhuman which describes the prevalence of drug use among them. I am not excusing common decency but most of the time we (not necessarily you) create these personas. Also, remember some are just shy emotionally-drained indoorsy people who would love nothing but being at home with their dog or sth.
So for some of these the celebrity is a complete s**t. But in some of them I feel bad because celebrities can hardly have a private life.
Why are americans so obsessed with famous people ? Live your own life.
met james earl jones once in canyonsville oregon while visiting family in the town guess he must of been mad that they had to keep reshooting cause of the kids. but hey feed kids fake ice cream(mashed potatoes)you're gonna have some bad shoots.it was hot that day too but we couldnt stay long. though not big but rivoting moment loved him in meteor man during his crying scene that depicts the fear in life of why no one says they seen anything or face retaliation. from field of dreams sandlot conan the barbarian etc. guy wouldnt speak to us or address us when we asked for an autograph. he told us to go away. maybe he was in trance for the scene. but this would be the only time id probably ever meet the actor cause i was from pa. so sad that i lost a hero that day. i was 11 years old. they say harrison ford has a house near where we live but never seen him though out and about.
