Interview With Artist
Amy Revives is a 24-year-old medical student in the Netherlands. Amy is in pursuit of a dream of becoming an artist and one thing that helps her to pursue this passion is creating comics! Amy has been creating comics since 2018 and up to this day, and over the last few years, the artist has gained over 100k followers on her Instagram account.

This time around, Bored Panda reached out to Amy with some new questions. First, we wanted to know if perhaps the artist was working on some new series.
"I don’t have a specific new series I’m working on at the moment seeing as I already have two comic series (Amy Revives and StrugglePanda) and an art series (Revives Illustrations) going. I do, however, want to start publishing my works as books and I’m working on my own website behind the scenes!"

The weather has been hot where I live, so I borrowed a skirt from my SO. Very comfy, brilliant ventilation, but... No pockets. So I had one with pockets made :)

But the waist to hip difference is to big mosten Times... I have always have to wear a belt to wrinkle a lot of the fabric, which results in funny stripes on my skin. Far away from perfekt fit but atleast my legs don't get stucked.... So many trousers/pants for women i can barely fit my arms through... When have legs in fashion become so thin? Most people would describe me as thin but i have Zero Chance to wear modern Jeans without elastan and even then.....

I always think it’s not made for grownup women but for 14 year old girls instead. You know, those tiny persons who barely have breasts, no big butt and lots, lots of skinny leg.

Men's pants have more consistent sizing, you aren't financially punished for needing a "tall" or a bigger size, They have pockets. I have one pair that I can fit a whole a*s kite in! I will never buy women's jeans again.

When I used to wear pants, a very long time ago, men trousers always made my butt look flat.
We also wanted to know if the artist had a comic she was proud of, and we thought it was only fair if she'd share her thoughts with us!
"It’s hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to choose, I really love one of my latest works involving my grandfather swatting a fly!"
Artists go through a few art phases trying to find the art style they could call their own, and for Amy, it is likely the same, given that the artist is currently thinking about trying other options out there.
"I would love to try classic oil painting and realism. I’ve only tried oil painting once before and the experience was lovely! Honestly, I’m open to try any new art form, I love learning new ways to express myself using a brush or a pen, haha."

This has been me for the last years. Hate my legs, Hate to shave, Hate the looks - never worn skirts or dresses Till my late 20s. Then with tights. But now i try to train myself to wear whatever i want and ignore the unshaven legs because this is nature and why should i shave or shame myself if men don't?!? (i still feel uncomfortable because society brainwashed us but it was too hot to not just wear the shortest trousers possible without the Extra tights to sweat in!)

I don't shave, I wear dresses and skirts whenever I want. Idgaf if my people see my hairy legs, it's natural. Only prepubescent children have hair free legs

Best thing about surviving cancer (besides surviving) is I only need to shave every 2-3 months now!
Starting out with comics (or art in general) isn't easy, so we asked the artist if she had any tips to share for those who might be starting out.
"I would say just go for it! There is no better day to start than today! When I started, my comics looked nothing like they do today, practice makes perfect! And also, don’t put too much pressure on yourself, making art is supposed to be fun and relaxing!"

When it comes to people having overall opinions on her comics, here's what the artist thinks, "The aim of my comics is to make people smile and forget about their worries for a moment. I love the little things in life and through my comics, I get to share them with the world!"
Most artists usually create art in order to accomplish something, therefore we were wondering if Revives perhaps felt the same in some type of way.
"I have no great goal in mind with my work other than to have fun! I would one day be thrilled to publish a book with my comics, that would definitely be a dream come true!"

Amy has been in the comic scene for quite some time now so we were curious whether she had any comments from her followers that might've particularly stood out.
"My favorite comments are always from people who tell me that my art and comics inspire them to try and create art as well. I also love when I’m told that I’ve brightened someone’s day and put a smile on their face!"

Lastly, we wanted to know what kind of hobbies Amy has aside from making comics, and here's what she shared with us, "I have so many hobbies, I doubt I can name them all! I love sewing and needlework, all types of art from pencil on paper, and paintbrush on canvas to digital art are all in my arsenal. I also love working with clay and making earrings and other fun little trinkets. In summer, you can often find me elbow-deep in dirt tending to the family veggie patch - my home is filled with plants too!"
