As much as they might hate to admit it, some people can get pretty judgemental. And while a few might tell you exactly as it is, others are likely to keep their comments of disapproval to themselves. Or at least behind your back.

Redditor u/gotwire was curious to find out what’s something people secretly judge others for. They posed the question to the ‘Ask Reddit’ community and received plenty of answers, ranging from disapproving of one’s parenting style to judging people who wouldn’t clean up after their dog. Scroll down to find more of redditors’ replies and see what they simply can’t let slide without a comment—even if only to themselves.

Saw a woman letting her dog poo on a path in a small wooded area immediately by a school where children play. I was walking my dog. So I challenged her about it 'and what's it got to do with you?' 🙄 Well, everything quite frankly! It has to do with everyone. No one should have to run the risk of stepping in dogs mess. I certainly don't want to! Outside a school and where children play?? Disgusting.

I admit when my puppy was diagnosed with distemper, we did EVERYTHING, and I mean everything. We did all the normal medical/veterinary stuff we could, gave him subQ fluids and medications... plus a few other things. We started him on several vitamin supplements, we got Ayurvedic supplements (all ingredients confirmed nontoxic to dogs), we even put a dingy-dang chunk of malachite onto his crate because a holistic vet mentioned in passing that malachite is a healing crystal. Well, my puppy survived distemper, which has a 80%-90% fatality rate in puppies. I don't REALLY believe the malachite helped, buuuuut... XD

To me it's not for physical, it's more for emotional well being. If you're happy, you might recover faster. That's what a lot of anti crystal and anti essential oils folks don't understand. Most of us who use them understand they're not magic and instantaneous. If sniffing lavender and rubbing amethyst calms you down, great! But you have to put in /follow the actual medical work/ advice yourself.

Crystals and Essential oils are great psychology wise and I belief they boost healing physically, but only boost. Crystals have vibrations and science already knows some vibrations promate healing, but it's exactly that "promote" doesn't mean a cure. You still have to actually get medical care.

Not being able to be on time. I don’t mean running late every once in a while. I’m talking about people who literally cannot bring themselves to be on time ever for anything. Get up earlier, set a timer, do something to fix it, or stop apologizing for being late because you clearly aren’t sorry. ETA I have ADHD. Being on time is important to me because if I didn’t prioritize it, I’d be late all the time. You’re allowed to be offended by being judged for it, but people are also allowed to be frustrated by you always being late. Trying to manage symptoms is part of having a healthier relationship with yourself and your disorders, especially if you expect people to empathize with them. I don’t openly shame people for being late, which is why this was my answer to “secretly judging,” but neurotypical or not, when a person is consistently late and makes no changes to better the situation, it’s extremely frustrating for and hurts the people around them.

What I hate is people who park in handicap spots while waiting to pick up someone. If your car is in the spot, that spot isn't available.

When stronger psychotherapy is needed to address core issues. DBT and medication are the answers. This is a cultural difference. Here in the UK it is more normal to have a cat that lives indoors and can get in and out via a catflap than it is to have an indoor cat, although more and more people are starting to keep them in. When I went to get mine from the cat rescue, they required me to have outdoor access because it was considered cruel not to have it!

Making sure that wherever they go they have to let everyone know what their political views are. The cashier at the grocery store or the guy behind the counter at the auto parts store doesn't need to know any of that. The same thing goes for employees. Expressing your views to me isn't part of your job description. So shut up and give me my change.

I know English isn't everyone's first language, and of course, exceptions are to be made for this. But if English is your first language, speaking it properly doesn't seem like too much to ask. Improper usage of a verb doesn't seem like an issue of regional dialect, as far as I know; an example of a regional dialect is how New Orleans/Louisianans use the term "making groceries" instead of saying "grocery shopping". I could be wrong: my specialty isn't linguistics. But in the workforce, etc., proper grammar is usually necessary. Why not use it all the time?

Conversely, people who confuse public spaces with private ones and flip out if you’re recording in a public space they happen to be in, even though they’re not intentionally being filmed. They scream about their rights being violated and how their privacy is being invaded. In public. Where the chose to be. Where there is no right to privacy.

It's not very rational, especially because I know exactly how it happens. I just wish these people realized what a better quality of life is available to them. Especially younger children, in those cases I do judge the parents.

How they speak. When people consistently use incorrect grammar I can't help but feel like they're not that intelligent.

Edit: I was specifically talking about how people speak, not how they spell. I realize there are many people who have issues with spelling and my dad is one of them. He is very well spoken, he just has issues with spelling and always has. I don't think of him as unintelligent and never have. I don't judge people whose English isn't their first language either. Like I mentioned in the replies, it is a pet peeve of mine when people who I know should know better, use incorrect grammar. The OP asked what we SECRETLY judge people for, meaning we keep that judgement to ourselves. I won't say anything to the person regardless of how many grammar errors they make.

I don't really get this one. Not wearing shoes downstairs in my house is an absolute hazard, please keep your shoes on. My house is clean, but I'm clumsy and will probably end up breaking something, often glass (while you are there) - I always clean immediately but I don't want to risk anyone getting cut. If my pup is with me, then you're safe though cause I've made 110% there is no glass and I'm extra careful when he is there. But honestly, I can look at a cup and it will break so be careful in my space (literally dropped a glass yesterday and my plate fell out my hand today). Take your shoes off upstairs though! Cause carpets and no glass allowed so no risk haha.

Which sucks when u work on cars, gardening, and just general day home stuff. I can just be watching tv and I'll somehow get dirt under my nails! The way I see it now is I wash my hands they're clean and I do my best to not go crazy obsessing over dirty nails. I know my hands are clean....
