This Artist Makes Hyper-Realistic Wool Animal Sculptures, Here Are Her Best 70 Works
Needle felting is a craft that sounds way more complex than it actually is—and most of the time, it also gets super cute results. What’s not to love? Melissa, also known on her social media as 'mootomotto,' is a good example of that! The Indonesian artist creates incredible and very realistic (not to mention very cute) miniatures of various animals. The wool-felted animals (such as dogs, cats, bunnies, parrots, etc.) are made from wool that the artist imports directly from Japan.
To find out a little bit more about the artist and her work, Bored Panda reached out to Melissa.
“Well, I have been interested in art since I was a kid. I always love to try new art projects. For me it mostly started with my @mootomotto Instagram account back when I was still in college more than 7 years ago.
I remember I was scrolling on Instagram and accidentally stumbled upon some wool art. After that, I found out it was a needle felt technique and got curious about it.
Fast forward, I imported the wool from Japan and started trying to make my first 5 projects at that time. After they were done, I just decided to make an Instagram account and somehow got my first customer on the second day.
By the way, each item takes me 7-10 days to make!”

I’m just tryna figure out how to do this hairstyle on me own head
It looks like it says "In Memoriam of Chin"? I wonder who "Chin" is. Perhaps the artist's own beloved dog?
