Woman Works As Hydraulics Engineer, But Leaves For Maternity Leave And Starts Making Realistic Porcelain Flowers
When you look at these beautiful flower bouquets, it’s hard to believe that these flowers are not real, but made of porcelain. Ukrainian artist Olesya Galushcenko, who lives in Odessa, creates porcelain flowers by hand, carefully sculpting and molding to make them look as realistic as possible.

You'd feel you had fresh flowers all the time. A perfect arrangement.
Surprisingly, Olesya Galushcenko is a hydraulics engineer by her specialty. Seven years ago, during maternity leave, she started creating porcelain flowers as a personal challenge. Olesya Galushcenko was self-taught so she spent hours learning the craft herself using free internet tutorials. However, they only taught her how to get started; the rest she had to figure out herself.
Old master's paintings in three dimensions. Magnificent arrangement..
I Seriously hope there's an explanation ON HOW TF SHE ACTUALLY MAKES THESE LOOK MORE REAL THAN THE REAL ONES! TOOTHPASTE???🤔
At first, Galushcenko worked with polymer clay, but soon, she realized that it wasn’t the right material for her as she wanted her works to look more realistic. So she decided to experiment with cold porcelain, which finally met her needs. Now, to achieve almost perfect flower replicas, she makes molds of every little part of the flowers, from the petals to the stamens and pistils, out of toothpaste. Then she creates the frame of the bouquet from wire covered in tape. Finally, everything is carefully coated in porcelain and assembled in beautiful arrangements.
I can't imagine how long it would take to make these stunning lilacs.
“I became interested in botanical sculpture in 2012, during maternity leave for my youngest son. I stumbled across Deco polymer clay flowers on the internet. I started to independently study everything about this work on the internet. In the first months, I worked with deco clay, but the flowers were not real enough for me. So I bought another clay on my own and found ways to make this or that flower. Then, day after day, my experience grew and gradually, the flowers became the way you see them today. However, I am always looking for new solutions and I believe that there is no limit to perfection. Now I use Japanese and Thai floristic polymer clays. They are clays that harden when exposed to air. They are popularly called 'cold porcelain,' although they have nothing to do with porcelain. To this day, many women and even men are already dedicated to polymer floriculture. This is a very exciting job that combines: floriculture, sculpture, artistic skills. On the internet, you can find many paid and free classes, master classes,” says the artist to Bored Panda.
These are so terrifyingly realistic that it reminded me of that one time my aunt from Poland watched over our house for a few weeks and we come back to find out she had watered our fake plants every day. It was at a time where fake plants were not known about in Poland, but were popular in the U.S. I'd imagine myself making this mistake with these flowers
WOW! I would have to touch the leaves to proove it isn't real.
Thank You! You are a gift to the world you make flower incredibly beautiful from the first one all the way to the last one. Plus your flowers last forever. You are very special, god might hire you on the day that he retire. Beautiful work! Have a Great Day!
These are stunning! Brides should commission her to recreate their wedding bouquets.
I need to see a video of her making these. I just don't believe they aren't real flowers. Especially the way the light shines through the petals.
I've always refrained from buying fake flowers, I am absolutely horrified by them but I want every single one of these. Good God there are just so many madly skilled and talented people out there. I love it!!
After scrolling through these for a while, I started to believe I was being punked. They are SO realistic! Beautiful and painstaking work.
There must be an error in translation..her Instagram page says they are made of polymer clay. Also "cold porcelain" is more Play-Dough, and not the same as porcelain (kiln-fired high quality clay).
Wow, wow, wow. I just can’t get over how real they look. Amazing
One of my ancestors came from Odessa. I grew up hearing it had many gifted artists and writers. That is still true! This work is the best I've seen. I hope we'll see more flowers, such as sweet peas. They'd be a challenge. I can see these arrangements in a museum, partnered with Lalique vases and containers, or the finest porcelain or pottery. Thank you for bringing this to Bored Panda.
Is this even possible? Does anyone here know how to do reverse image searches? I did a Google search and it seems this burst all over in the last couple of days, with no previous reference to this name. IF it is real, then it is truly outstanding, and if it is not, well, then I guess I still would have to say "well done".
Do an image search and you'll find ALL of these are just stolen images of actual plants from gardening or florist websites. Here's one of them https://www.zvetsad.com.ua/catalogitem/3306-roza-ledi-bombastik
okay I actually went to her sale site and instagram, they are mainly made of polymer clay! Porcelain is just one of the materials used!!!! Can the author be a bit more accurate please? Confusing the hell out of us all here.
None of these are fake flowers...these are all pictures of REAL flowers.
