Artist Draws Realistic Portraits Using Color Pencils, And You Might Confuse Them With Photos
Heather Rooney is an American artist who specializes in photorealistic colored pencil and graphite drawings. Her unique artworks have so many details that they actually can be easily confused with real photographs.
“After the first portrait I drew in my high school art class, I became captivated with the challenge of realistic drawing and the meticulous attention to detail that is required,” says Heather on her website. “The labor-intensive commitment to realistic art caused me to feel driven to continue improving my drawing technique.”
It takes from a few to hundreds of hours for this talented 25-year-old artist to finish one pencil drawing, but every single of them is special in its own way. Scroll down and see these detailed artworks for yourself.

Woah I literally was like.. Maybe she's just taking pictures of actual photos then I saw one with a pencil in the picture and was likd .. Nope that's colored alright. Nice work 😁

This skill is too good - to spend 100 hours creating an image that can be done in 20th of a second by a camera --- true dedication

It's amazing talent. But I can get the same effect with a photo. I'd love it if the artist would put some of them into the image (some creativity).

If I didn't know that these were made with coloured pencils I would of thought that these are photos! They are absolutely amazing!
