Artist Paints Portraits That Look Like They’re ‘Wrapped’ In Bubble Wrap
Realism is one of the hardest things to master in painting. It may seem easier than creating something fantastical or out of this world, but if you make just one mistake in realistic painting, everything will seem off.
Derek Mederos has mastered the art of realism very well. His work has a lot of detail and it’s obvious he puts a lot of time and effort into each piece.
Derek created this interesting series of paintings “wrapped” in bubble wrap. It creates an interesting optical illusion.
What do you think of these paintings? Is the bubble wrap a good idea? Tell us in the comments!

Share on FacebookThe painter's name is Darian Mederos. It took me awhile to find him b/c the article reads "Derek". But thank you for the introduction to his work.
He's clearly very talented. I just thought they looked good without adding a gimmick. If it helps him sell more paintings, this type of artistic license definitely stands out in a crowd. Maybe not on all your paintings. I would have liked to see them without the bubble wrap effect. I wish you every success.
