50 Paintings By Kamalky Laureano That Are So Incredibly Detailed, You Might Confuse Them With Photos
It takes a special gift to be able to paint artwork with such precision that viewers start second-guessing their eyesight. Kamalky Laureano is undoubtedly one of those utterly talented artists whose beautiful paintings are easily confused with real high-resolution photographs. This Mexico City-based artist from the Dominican Republic puts so much attention into details, like freckles, pores, and skin texture that it’s hard to believe it’s, in fact, paint on canvas. It feels as if you can actually see the countless hours spent perfecting the work, dedication, and exceptional talent imprinted into his realistic paintings.
“I like to create intricate drawings, controlled explosions of matter shaped until I'm happy.” – says 35-year-old artist on his Instagram page, which has now attracted almost 80k followers and counting. But what really makes Kamalky’s work stand out is his ability to portray the genuine emotion in his portrait paintings which results in incredibly soulful finished artworks.
Look through some of Kamalky’s unique artworks and don’t let the hyperrealism trick your mind.

It's as if bad skin is the point in order to somehow validate the hyper realism. I agree with you since I don't think the artist needed to add such an appealing element to otherwise breathtakingly impressive work.
Load More Replies...This reminds me of that article on BoredPanda about the computer generating extremely detailed photos of people who don't exist. Same deal with this, too. Wicked.
Of all of the photo-realistic artists on boredpanda, this may be the best. Plus the composition of the subject matter is hypnotically beautiful.
I think it is interesting that in the comments people say what art "should be"...I didn't realize that there are limits on "art". Hmmm...Like something or don't. Your choice. But I don't see how we can tell an artist what to do. MHO
Art is only limited by its observer. Each of whom is entitled to their own opinion.
Load More Replies...so, most of the comments were on how real something looked, but i appreciated the emotion behind the faces. not one looked story-less or expression-less. if even one existed in real life, i would ask there story. I think that the most important part is the emotion, not the realism.
I can't believe these are paintings and not photographs. This guy really has a gift from God. God bless this artists abilities aka talents. So beautifully designed and mad cutesy.
I wish I had even a fraction of this artist's talent! He captures the personality of his subjects so unbelievably well. Phenomenally talented!
this art is a lot like Bourgereau's realism...one of my most favorite paintings is "the elder sister"....this art is a welcome break from abstract modern post-modern art...hope he keeps it up...https://www.bouguereau.org/
These paintings made me realise how often I like to pick the easiest option every time I'm wearing the decider's shoes. I absolutely loved how the artist likes to play with light and masters painting really complex (aka natural) stuff. Kudos buddy and thanks for the share BP.
These are some of the best paintings of pwople i have ever seen. Amazing job. I wish i had a talent
How is this art, just imitating a camera? Art is supposed to add something not present in a photograph. Very talented at the imitation but I'd rather look at art.
It is art.. you just can't see past your art snob nose.
Load More Replies...I'm impressed but for me it doesn't pass the " I'd pay money for one of these " test. Assuming, of course, that I had money.
Superb detail - almost photographic. Which is what I dont really like. There is amazing skill in this - but not "Art". Pre-photography it was the aim of an artist to make as life-like an image as possible. I dont see the point these days of spending 100+ hours to produce an image identical to the the photograph that took 100th of a second to produce. Superb copies of photos, but not Art. The painter should leave their own style in a painting - artistic licence. In no way critical of his work - it is perfect.
