You saw the blue and black dress fiasco. You heard the Yanny vs Laurel debate. But have you seen the Bird in the Hoop?
Thousands of people have already been confused and amazed by this hand embroidered Cockatiel on tulle and I thought it was only fair you have the chance to weigh in too.
My name is Beth Carroll from Beth Carroll Art and I am an Australian artist, living and working in Ireland. I take commissions from all over the world and my most recent one, Duffy, kicked up more than I bargained for.
I started embroidery last year but recently gave into urges to play with embroidery on tulle. My work quickly took on a life of it’s own, even tricking some people into thinking they were looking at bird that happily landed on a hoop in my garden.
Or did I actually get a bird to land on my embroidery hoop and capture it with a clever camera trick? Share it and see what your friends think.

Share on FacebookBeth, this is incredible. Looks so real, the details are exquisite. And as a fellow embroiderer, I can appreciate how much effort went into this - although I've never thought of working with tulle before.
