Adulting can be quite challenging (and rewarding, of course). One minute you're acing a presentation at work, the next you're drowning in complicated tax forms. And just when you think you've got your act together, life throws another challenge at you. Suddenly, you need to deal with tight deadlines, bills, and the occasional existential crisis — all while trying to remain sane.

But worry not, because in all this chaos, there's one thing that can surely lighten the mood: humor. And, the subreddit named “r/twitter_memes” is all about hilarious memes. They share relatable situations from everyday life that hit close to home. So sit back, relax, and get ready to chuckle your way through these jokes about scenarios we all experience (or at least relate to).

The Satanic Temple is currently having a contest to name their next abortion clinic. The name ideas are mostly hysterical. Edit: certainly! https://thesatanictemple.com/pages/new-fundraiser The first clinic is TST Health’s Samuel Alito's Mom's Satanic Abortion Clinic in New Mexico. 😊

Such comical posts instantly put a smile on our faces, but creating a meme is not an easy task. It’s a creative process. And while we often associate creativity with artists like writers, painters, and actors - known as "Big-C" creativity for their professional-level work - it's also part of our everyday lives.

Psychologists call this "little-c" creativity, and interestingly, it's something all of us possess. Whether it's cooking a new dish, building something from scratch, or telling jokes, it's all about being curious and inventive.

But how do we get innovative ideas? Despite the common belief that it happens spontaneously, results from psychology and neuroscience experiments indicate that it actually takes real mental work to be creative. This is mainly because our brains need to push the boundaries of what we already know and understand. It involves stretching our thinking and exploring new possibilities.

All the stored memories in our brain serve as building blocks, allowing us to draw inspiration from past knowledge to generate new ideas. However, creativity also requires the ability to control and manipulate our thoughts effectively.

For instance, when a writer is tasked with crafting a compelling story, they may be motivated from their own experiences, recalling events, emotions, or characters. But to create something original, they go beyond mere recollection and actively manipulate these memories. They might exaggerate certain aspects, add more drama or imagine alternative scenarios. This process of cognitive control helps them transform ordinary moments into extraordinary narratives.

Long ago a British commentator said, "In America, they have two political parties. There's the Republicans, who are the equivalent of our Conservative Party. And the Democrats, who are the equivalent of our Conservative Party."

but one of them is STILL a worse choice to vote into office than the other. if anybody tries to convince you that there's no point in voting because the parties are the same, they are a republican who is trying to get you not to vote so they can win.

This aged like fine wine. BIDEN is the one who wanted student loan forgiveness. REPUBLICANS who got thousands and thousands of business debt forgiven are the ones blocking student loan forgiveness. F**k you, Republicans. Every one of you.

The middle class is being pinched really hard. The corporations and the rich have worked out that there was no need to constrain their money-grubbing and greed to just the working classes and have moved their attention to the middle class. The state of the job market and the difficulty in moving to a new area because of the disastrous state of the housing market traps people in their jobs and reduces bargaining power, all while directors and CEOs pay themselves huge salaries, benefits and bonuses.

In essence, memory helps by providing the knowledge and expertise we possess, while our mental control lets us think in new ways. But it’s not just our past. Our ability to imagine future scenarios also plays a vital role in the process. The hippocampus, a seahorse-shaped region in the temporal lobe, helps us piece together details from our past experiences while envisaging future scenarios, providing a rich base for generating new ideas.

Imagine you're planning a surprise party for a friend. You instantly think of all the celebrations you have attended, recalling what worked well and what didn't. You decide to include a particularly fun game from a previous party or a certain type of music that got everyone dancing.

By piecing together details from your past experiences, you create amazing ideas for the party. The process of drawing from the past to inform the future helps you generate creative concepts. This connection suggests that when we remember things vividly, we're able to focus on new possibilities. This is because both memory and imagination require us to combine details in a flexible way, which is the key to creative thinking.

A network of brain areas, which includes regions like the medial prefrontal cortex, posterior cingulate cortex, and medial temporal lobes, activates during creative tasks. To put it simply, when you're not laser-focused on any activity, your brain goes into daydream mode and thinks spontaneously.

That's when all those memories and random thoughts start mingling together, creating new and exciting combinations. So, next time you catch yourself drifting off, remember, your brain might be coming up with something relatable and hilarious, just like these memes. Comment below and share some random incident that made you chuckle. Have you ever wondered if others have experienced something similar?

I'm not a crypto fan and have never own even a millionth of a bitcoin, but seriously. When it's down you should put money in, when it's low, you can take out money. Same thing with any regular investments. Same thing when you're grocery shopping. You buy when it's cheap, you sell when it's expensive. Many people lose their invested money by cashing out when the value is low, thinking they are actually preventing money loss. This is why financial literacy should be taught in schools.
