My 30 Photos Capture The Quiet Side Of City Life In The Narrow Streets Of South Asia
I am a fine art photographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. For the past couple of months I have travelled to different streets in Bangladesh, India and Nepal. I love to explore narrow streets and back alleys in a city.
This love grew when I was traveling in Varanasi, India. The whole city is full of really narrow streets, lanes and alleys. It was incredible to see how happening and lively the space can be. It's like stories unfolding in every corner in those places. You will often find people doing everyday chores, chatting with other people, or just taking a break and having tea, or maybe someone is just sitting on his/her doorstep at the end of the day. For me these places are full of colors, emotions, stories, and the unique essence of local lifestyle which I don’t find in the main city streets. It’s about seeing life happening rather than getting restrained in those narrow streets.

the ...what is it? patience? contemplative whimsy? noble stoicism? this man is lovely.
Clean, bright whites and the bluish tones of the street and the guy's clothing: really beautiful capture.
The connection shown here is palpable and intriguing. What a great moment.
Ashraful, these are all really beautiful. So evocative. They really bring out the colorful variety of South Asian street life.
I really enjoyed this and other similar posts. They bring a touch of humanity and realism to far off places I've only read about and will never see.
Many of these are remeniscent of the incredibly high standard of vintage National Geographic Magazine C1960's. Beautiful work
These are absolutely stunning photographs! They look so beautiful of a world of which I have no knowledge or experience. Incredible images and you have such an eye for detail, colours and that glorious sunshine 😊 Amazing post, thank you so much for sharing 😊
The play of color and light is so pleasant to look at, as well as the subject matter.
Incredible. You are awesome artist. Very beautiful and moving photos!
