33 Couples That Failed At Social Distancing And Revealed These “Quarantine Baby” Announcements
You've probably heard this joke a million times when the quarantine began: there's going to be a baby boom by the end of the year. Some laughed while nodding their heads and others thought it was impossible for couples to bring a new life into the world after seeing each other all day every day with no end in sight. But families are expanding. And creative parents-to-be are coming up with the funniest ways to announce their big news.
From saying they got the wrong kind of protection to little kids claiming their parents weren't good at social-distancing, its evident that some didn't lose their sense of humor during times of such great uncertainty.

According to Dr. Melissa Richards, an OBGYN at Olmsted County Medical Center, the hospital is expected to hit 1,000 births in 2020, which is something OMC hasn't done in more than five years.
That being said, she believes the "boom" won't be as drastic as some predict. "I wouldn't call it a boom, but maybe a bump," Dr. Richards told KTTC. "In 2019, we had 58 deliveries in December," Dr. Richards said. "This year, we are tracking to deliver 80 patients."
Lyman Stone, a research fellow at the Institute for Family Studies, pointed out that “events that cause a large increase in deaths tend to cause a large decrease in births nine months later.” Which is the complete opposite of the popular belief that a major natural disaster would inspire Americans sensing their own mortality to grow their families.
The researcher cited natural disasters such as hurricanes and famines, as well as previous pandemics to support the claim, saying that would-be parents may be traumatized by fear or concerned about how they would care for children during difficult and uncertain times. Still, such declines are often temporary.
Look out - we have a whole new mass of boomer babies circa 2021 Congrats!
You two were rewarded for staying in and wearing masks like bandits. You lucky, life enjoying people.
You clearly did not follow Mr Presidents instructions with the Clorox
Me: "Why am I the only one who isn't going to be a parent after quarantine?" Voice in my head: "Because you're single, you hate kids, and 50% of your time in lockdown has been given over to Animal Crossing." Me: "I got all the fossils, so it was totally worth it."
Please correct me if I'm wrong but if this baby is 24 weeks old it was conceived well before most countries went into quarantine (Reading July 3). Even if you include China which went into lockdown February 4th. Not to lessen the joy of their announcement.
So as cute as these are.. it’s not as if couples in the same household are expected to socially distance...?
Is this a pregnancy announcement, or just a photo of baby wear that will tell everyone why said baby now exists?
My husband and I were trying for our 2nd BEFORE this whole pandemic thing... Now I am due in November and everyone thinks it's because of the quarantine... 🤦 🤷♀️
Very repetitive. WHAT a bad time to conceive, having to go to hospital during a pandemic is risky for mother and baby.
Well. It's meant for friends and family. And these people aren't looking at aggregate websites like Bored Panda to read the notice :) And then it's just cute.
Load More Replies...I so hope that none of these babies are going to be named Corona.
Sure are a lot of these that are basically "we had sex!!!". I don't get it. I mean I get the joke, but you can surely announce a pregnancy without highlighting how said pregnancy came about.
"Quaratine wasn't boring because mommy and daddy thought they had all the protection they needed, and didn't adhere to social distancing rules!" "We get it. Y'all f****d because you weren't at work."
Load More Replies...Makes me more concerned that none of these couples seem to comprehend that you don't need to practice social distance within you OWN HOME (unless one or more of you has symptoms). Plus think of the fact that your kids will no doubt see these pictures at some point and there will be no doubt in their mind what so ever that you didn't want them in the first place...
Exactly. I don't get the joke, but looks like these parents don't get what "social distancing" is.

All babies are beautiful! If parents got pregnant during COVID who are we to judge? It’s a happy occasion.
Aww! These were cute (although some were repetitive). Congrats to all of these people! Wishing happiness to all of them and their coming bundle of joy!
These people are all dumbasses and idiots. And royally screwed. Pandemics don't just end, it takes up to 2 years and the young are the most vulnerable. So screwed
Well, would you rather abort? Kill that baby that you had been waiting for?
Load More Replies...It will be interesting to see, once the data gets tallied, if the number of Coronials born represents a statistical anomaly — up or down — over what would normally have been expected for that time period.
I got pregnant just before Coronavirus became a thing. For our announcement I photoshopped an ultrasound of the baby to have a mask on and Clorox wipes in his hands lol
You gotta say though, having your dad and mom showing up at a hospital cause you told them you broke your spleen or something only for them to find out that you had a BABY- kinda awkward.
Load More Replies...Sorry but these posts were not up to your usual high standards. Extremely repetitive. It looks like the same idea over & over again with different names. Almost like an ad for someone's business. Even the typeset is the same from post to post????
It strangely makes sense, the urge to procreate after tragedy.... (though I don't think I'd want to be pregnant with the Threat of Covid in the air) My son was a 9/11 baby... the trauma of the event shook us out of the complacent "one day" starting our family. Took a little while to get the bunni in the oven but he's now 18 years old. Now that I think about it, much of the class of 2020 was 9/11 babies!
Most of these look like generic ads of clothes printing companies, literally from "haha funny t-shirts" product collection.
Oh good! We were just turning this around! Seriously tho...we gotta teach this generation to refuse plastics and fossil fuel whenever possible and we'll all be just fine. I'm a new grandma..can't see her much because of the virus but they're great and so are we. Congratulations new parents! And good luck! Raise em right. Teach them to stand up for what they believe in.
An unplanned and possibly unwanted baby. What can be more beautiful xD
four basic formats of quarantine pregnancy announcement: Mom and Dad thought they had all the protection they needed. . . or, mom and dad didn't say six feet apart! or "well played, quarantine" or a picture of the ultrasound with some clever little saying on a bulletin board behind it
Babies, pee sticks and banjo music. Ain't it perty? Not directed at the above ones just the whole goofy idea , virus, distance, name brand beer, acting liike babies are an accident when the hospitals are full of people praying for their loved ones. Enough.
These are all cute and sweet, though they did get a tad repetitive on the not practicing social distancing theme.
Always nice for their child to be able to confirm they weren't planned for.
If they grow up loved and cared for what does it matter if they were planned or not?
Load More Replies...Being proud of forcing a life into this world during a deadly pandemic, climate change, anti-racism protests and riots, the gap between rich and poor growing wider and wider, the USA descending into madness, etc. Unbelievable.
So no more babies? Climate change isn't going away...so humans should stop reproducing and kill ourselves off? There is also love and happiness in this world, you just have to make sure to show your kids how to love others and how to take care of each other and this earth. I would never say "well the world is going to hell! No more humans!!" We should ALL take care of EACH OTHER.
Load More Replies...More likely just boredom sex because there isn’t anything better to do, considering that they all seem to have a sense of humor and feel positive about the situation. Couples that hate each other and then find out they are expecting generally have other plans than cutesy announcements.
Load More Replies...If you are 30, didn’t use protection until recently, and have never been pregnant, you probably just aren’t very fertile.
