Lol, when I had my knee replaced in 2014, my husband took care of me, and our dog, was right there in the very thick of it, watching him very closely, because I could see, he was carefully figuring out, that if daddy dropped dead, he’d be able to take over the care duties! Loyal to a heart beat! He’d walk with the hubby to get ice from the freezer for my ice machine, then follow him closely to fill it up, watching closely the entire time! I damn near died laughing once when he looked at the hubby like he wasn’t doing it right! Then, when I had to go to the bathroom, he’d walk behind me, until I got there, and then sit at my feet, and /or, posted himself in front of the door, to protect me! Nothing or no one was getting to me while I was doing my business!! He was even very careful when he’d sit in the recliner with me, protecting my knee and leg! When I’d walk to bed, he’d follow behind me, and then run ahead so he could climb the bed stairs to make sure I got in Ok!

I read that they make eye contact with you because they feel so vulnerable and they are making sure you are looking out for them. I think it's adorable, now!

I heard it's because dogs feel vulnerable pooping so they look to their humans to feel safe

My dog don't like to wait, so he opens doors, fridge, drawers...

My dog once got stuck in the garage for about an hour (before I realized he was "missing") - the door between the garage and hallway was open enough for him to squeeze through, but he was just standing there like HALP ME!! Dummy.
