A Texas Bakery Loses A Large Order After Posting About Their Pride Month Cookies And People Come In Crowds To Support Them

Pride month is celebrated every year in June to commemorate the Stonewall riots that took place at the end of June in 1969 in the United States. Now June is recognized as Pride month in many countries all over the world, bringing attention to the impact the LGBTQ+ community has and is dedicated to further fighting for equal rights.

A well-known LGBTQ+ symbol is a flag with rainbow-colored stripes and a lot of people, businesses, and organizations express their support to the community by using this symbol. A bakery in Texas baked some heart-shaped cookies with the pride flag on them and actually lost some customers. After the internet found out about this, the business was flooded with support.

The Confections bakery in Lufkin, Texas, USA posted a picture of delicious-looking heart-shaped cookies with colorful icing that imitates a rainbow, which is the LGBTQ+ flag’s colors. The bakery wanted to express their support towards the community and spread the message of love.

They captioned the photo, “More LOVE. Less hate. Happy Pride to all our LGBTQ friends! All lovers of cookies and happiness are welcome here🌈✨”

However, the post initially received some hateful reactions and a customer cancelled a large order, which was quite a loss for a small bakery

However, it seems that a simple post like that cost the small bakery quite a bit of followers and a customer ended up cancelling a big order even though it was already made.

The owners went to Facebook once again demonstrating their disbelief in what happened and hoping that people would come to their bakery to buy those unwanted cookies so they wouldn’t go to waste.

But then the internet did its thing and the bakery owners received so much support that they sold out completely

People were also donating money without buying anything, but the owners then encouraged them to donate to animal shelters

The owners didn’t know what was coming for them, because people were overwhelmingly supportive and generous not only with likes on the post.

On their Facebook page, Confections reported that people were donating money and were coming in to buy their sweets. The bakery managed to sell every cookie from the cancelled order and even more.

The owners came to Facebook to say that this was a unique experience and they feel very grateful for the support that outweighed the initial backlash

What at first seemed like the beginning of the end of a struggling business turned out to be a success story.

The owners are very grateful for all the love people have been sending and showing. They encourage all the donators to donate to animal shelters instead. So on top of being LGBTQ+ supporters, they also seem to be generous people themselves.

The internet’s reaction was very positive and the story just sounds like something from a fairytale where at the end, those who have been wronged come out as winners.

The internet’s reaction was mostly positive and people were happy that the bakery was introduced to so many new customers

Having started as a content creator that made articles for Bored Panda from scratch I climbed my way up to being and editor and then had team lead responsibilities added as well. So it was a pretty natural transition from writing articles and titles as well as preparing the visual part for the articles to making sure others are doing those same tasks as I did before well, answering their questions and guiding them when needed. Eventually I realized editing gives me the most enjoyment and I'm focusing only on that right now.

People who whine about "cancel culture" are actually the ones who invented it. They've cancelled truth, love, honesty, compassion, and caring about your community. I don't know why ANYONE would choose to steep themselves in such bitter toxicity; you notice how these people are always full of hate and rage and victimhood? Enough. Don't be right wing; it slowly kills you (and people around you) and it sure as hell isn't loving, kind, or uplifting.

I'll never understand why some people cant live and let live. It's not as if how other people live really affects their day to day life. Plus the cookies look delicious. (_8(|) mmmm cookies

My thoughts exactly. People that feel it's their place to decide what's right for others IMO have something wrong in their own lives. Cookies rock!
