Woman Turns Her Driveway Into A Work Of Art After Mastering A Pressure Washer
They say that a good present is a practical one. So when Dianna Wood’s birthday came along, her husband knew exactly what to get her. A pressure washer. Dianna had been thinking about it ever since the very first time she used one to help a girlfriend get her mom’s house ready to sell.
For over a month, she had power washed everything she could, including the patio, the fence, the siding on the shop, several dirty shutters, and even the garbage cans. When it was time to tackle the biggest challenge, the driveway, she realized how long it would take and decided to go even further, turning it into an art project.

Dianna was born and raised in Northern California and after retiring from over 36 years of working in an office moved to Burlington, North Carolina a little over two years ago. “I have done crazy art things since I was probably 5 years old,” she told Bored Panda. “No professional art training, though.”

At first, Dianna pressure washed some encouraging words like “love” onto the concrete. However, that wasn’t enough for her. She then wanted to create something more intricate and began covering the path with motifs from the natural world.

“As pleased as I was with the upper driveway ‘word art’, I was inspired to see what else I could do with this wonderful new toy,” Dianna wrote. “Although I am still learning techniques and am not completely satisfied with the results, I guess one could say, ‘This is just what might happen when a husband gets an artist a power washer for her birthday!'”
