It's a common thing among humans to share X-ray pictures of babies still in the womb. However, even if you think you've seen it all, these X-ray pictures of baby animals still in their mommas' bellies are something that will make you say 'OMG'!
Our wonderful nature is full of interesting facts! Did you know that when it comes to pregnancy, opossums have it the easiest - it takes only 14 days, whereas elephant females spend up to 23 months being pregnant and then endure the pains of giving birth. The Guinness World Record for a number of multiple births in a litter is 24 pups, and MALE seahorses give birth to an average of around 200 hatchlings. Both weird and mysterious, animal babies and pregnancies are always an interesting topic for nature-loving people and these Xrays will surely show you something new.

People need to realise raccoons or skunks or possums or anything you think is a pest. They were here first and we destroyed there homes and then get mad when they invade what we took. We humans are the real pests.

I thought x-ray is not good for pregnant, so how they think is it cool to do that to animals. smh

Working with animals I can tell you, this doesn't happen to EVERY animal. It's done shortly before the due date, usually just the one time, to get a baby count. Some animals have issues birthing and a baby or two won't come out. Knowing the count beforehand avoids a situation where they get left in, die, and start to rot inside the mother causing sepsis and other issues. Knowing there's 5 babies and only 4 came out tells the doctor to either try to reach for it and assist birth it, or to do a c section. Household animals lose many instincts they're supposed to have and require more human help than farm or wild animals. The levels are incredibly different from humans as well, they're not nearly as high. Also, if a doctor deems an xray as medically necessary, they will give a woman one, but take extra precautions to protect mom. It's the same for animals as well. They don't just give them w***y nilly for the fun of it.

Ok if pregnant women of human species can't get xrays while pregnant due to the dangers of the radiation rays to the fetus, then why in the f**k are we xraying pregnant animals? Principals and morals people....yall apparently captured them long enough for xrays so why not just do ultrasounds?

There are actually very few people who know how to and will do an ultrasound on an animal. Plus it is extremely expensive. I just say leave the animal alone. . . unless there's an emergency and you have to take an X-ray.

I noticed that too. I am fascinated by x-rays and ultrasounds and I saw that and was like the dog is literally pooping while having this done-it's right there in x-ray.I mean right there

Always thought snakes lay eggs but apparently Boa Constrictor and Green Anacondas give birth to live young with no eggs involved!!

X-rays are done before the due date to check position of babies and count the number of babies. However is it possible to miscount the babies. Babe, my mom's dog, was bred due to the rarity of her coat color. Everybody prepared for 8-10 puppies. Babe delivered 13 puppies.
