Every year, for International Women's Day—March 8, I have a tradition of posting illustrations dedicated to many brave women from around the world. In the past years, there were 91 illustrations dedicated to all female recipients of the Yugoslavian "Order of the People's Hero," as well as portraits of female combatants from the Spanish Civil War.
This year, I decided to publish illustrations of 20 fierce female activists. They have been clearing the path for every woman out there and represent everyday inspiration. Unfortunately, some of them are still facing prison sentences and prosecution. Their work should be our example and inspiration of how to build a better future for everyone.

I’m sad Stevie Nicks isn’t on here... she is a strong independent woman and she does deserve to be on the list!!!

P.Edward ..... you have never seen Jane Fonda in any movies then Even now as she is in her 80s she still looks good.

Fun fact: Under communism, you have forced abortion if the government doesn't want you to have children, and rapes when they do. That's what happens when the government owns the "means of production" of media content. No dissent is possible, and therefore, corruption leads to terror. Amazing how many "useful idiots" on this list. Sad to see Harriet Tubman (and Rosa Parks and Indira Gandhi) degraded by being included. (And Mira Furlan. I don't know much about her politics, but she was awesome in both Babylon 5 and Lost.)
