This appears to be more of a spam ad for a kickstarter than an actual available for purchase product.

This was fun! Just beware of the import/export restrictions that may apply on berries, flowers etc, or corals that can be forbidden to take out of the country. I can imagine Australia custom control will stop most of the paperscopes ;)

I visited St. Croix last year and collected a couple of shells like I would on a mainland beach. Got stopped at the airport and asked to return them. There were no posters or anything to tell tourists not to collect shells. I wouldn't have if I had known. Definitely look into that sort of thing before collecting bits from your visits.

How would those big bulky fruit chunks fit in the periscope? And I imagine they'd be sticky too

The usefulness and practicality is questionable. Collect yourself is not difficult, and certainly a lot cheaper to buy ready-made. And because so many junk lay out and ask for it.
