With The Help Of AI, This Artist Reimagined 61 Pop Culture Characters As Adorable Babies
More and more people use AI as a tool to create art. But that has faced a lot of backlash, as if AI art is not art. However, if you have ever tried using AI tools yourself, you will notice that it is not as simple to get desirable results as maybe most people think.
One AI artist, Topher Welsh, who creates baby versions of popular characters such as Disney princesses, characters from Marvel, The Matrix, Friends, and others, has shared his opinion on how he sees all this hatred towards AI art: "The backlash against AI art is understandable but really shouldn't be a thing. Most of the backlash comes from a lack of understanding of its use and how it works, or they see it as a threat to job security for artists. Every generation has a new set of tools that can replace older models. For instance, photography had backlash from landscape painters, and digital painting received backlash from photographers and traditional artists alike."
So, Pandas, what are your thoughts on this topic, and have you tried making AI art? Let us know in the comments below.

Please stop feeding the AI-generated image trend. It is so damaging to artists and their art. This is not good or enjoyable content.
I beg to differ, personally I love seeing the funny results of ai

We made sure to make them have more fingers so people feel like they have to call it out which was a strategy to make the content go viral. https://capondesign.medium.com/going-viral-with-ai-on-instagram-44705baf3f6c
Load More Replies...Please stop promoting AI generated art. Many of us understand perfectly well Stable Diffusion and how AI images are generated, thanks very much. The AI "Artist" is free to let us know what repository of images the AI trained on, and whether any of those were given explicit permission to train on said images. That being said, photographers don't call themselves painters, yet AI artists call themselves artists. Both also still require skills, so their comparison is dumb.
I liked all the art some were really good but there was so many people winging about the fingers like the rest was amazing could you just shut the f*ck up?
AI art so-called art should not be allowed in any kind of competition because it's just stealing other people's art and photography and mashing it together.
Ummm, .... what's with the extra fingers Is that like "PaperTowns" ... a kind of copywrite thing that mapmakers do.🤣
nope, although that would be fun! these pictures were computer generated completely by an Artificial Intelligence, which is done by analyzing millions of images and coming up with a result. but the AI isn't perfect, and the results it comes up with are often flawed, hence the extra fingers. (also, as many others in this thread are saying, this sort of art is harmful to real artists because the AI sort of "steals" the drawings and paintings it analyzes. so the AI doesn't create anything truly original, and the millions of artists get no credit/payment, while whoever wrote the algorithm does almost no work and passes the results off as "AI art")
