I beg to differ, personally I love seeing the funny results of ai

How damaging? Does Realism damage Photorealism? Do they damage Expressionism, Impressionism, Abstract, Surrealism, or Pop Art? Does charcoal drawings damage oil painting? Do pencil drawings damage water colors? I prefer photorealism and surrealism in oil or acrylic, but respect all artists and their audiences enough to accept there are other types taking the spotlight off my favorites. I love some AI-generated images, but not all. I don't automatically see "AI-generated" and instantly think "it's fantastic". Some is both disturbing and c**p, but the same can be said for any of those types I mentioned earlier. Not all photorealism is good. Not all surrealism is good. etc, etc. Just because there's a new kid in town doesn't mean he's going to chase all the other kids out. There's room for him, and more. If someone wanted to PAINT images like those above, in photorealism or surrealism style, I'd love those, too! But no one is, so why should I suffer without?

nope, although that would be fun! these pictures were computer generated completely by an Artificial Intelligence, which is done by analyzing millions of images and coming up with a result. but the AI isn't perfect, and the results it comes up with are often flawed, hence the extra fingers. (also, as many others in this thread are saying, this sort of art is harmful to real artists because the AI sort of "steals" the drawings and paintings it analyzes. so the AI doesn't create anything truly original, and the millions of artists get no credit/payment, while whoever wrote the algorithm does almost no work and passes the results off as "AI art")
