Lingerie Company Remakes Victoria’s Secret Ad With A More Realistic Range Of Body Types
Curvy Kate, a lingerie brand praised for embracing a far wider range of busts than many other lingerie designers, has released an ad campaign that takes a dig at Victoria’s Secret, whose “Perfect Body” ad campaign drew criticism for suggesting that a perfect body could only be one that adhered to their strict (and slim) standards.
The brand, which creates bras for D-K cups, launched the ads along with their “Star in a Bra” campaign, which lets fans help them decide who their new model for 2015 will be.
After receiving a wave of criticism, Victoria’s Secret changed their ad campaign’s slogan to “A Body For Every Body,” but the models in the ad campaign still did little to appeal to women of different body types.

Victoria’s Secret was accused of body-shaming larger and bustier women when they released this ad
They changed the slogan to “A body for every body,” but many thought it wasn’t enough
Curvy Kate released a similar ad but with a more diverse range of body types and busts:

Share on FacebookWhat about us girls with a small bust compared to the rest of our bodies? The bottom picture shows ladies with a large bust, no one like me!
The company the ad represents makes bras for sizes D-K.
Load More Replies...The top says all women have perfect bodies and the second one says we are all overweight and wear god-awful bras..show me the middle-rangers
Whats your problem? There are small girls and big girls, broad hips and slim. I think there are a lot of different body types
Load More Replies...They are from one extreme to the other; where is the middle-of-the-range photograph, in which my partner would fit?
For all ya'll know, his partner might be curvy and average weight but have a small chest.
Load More Replies...Seriously? This is either super skinny women or super large women. Not realistic at all. Where are the average weight small breasted women?
HUH?! There are at least 4 women with very typical body types, 2 of which are in fantastic shape and muscular and one of which has no chest!

This is awesome. VS doesn't even make xl underware or DD bras anymore. Let's see more realistic women.
why is DD more realistic? I know one girl with DD, and lots of girls with smaller breast and no curves...
Load More Replies...Why are people saying that every woman in the bottom pic is overweight? I can see at least three who are very slim, esp. pic number 1.
Actually victoria's secret showed HEALTHY models. Women who work out, you can see muscle on them. Stop promoting unhealthy.
MaryAsh, I hike 5-7 miles everyday, but I fit into the bottom picture. Even when I weighed 125lbs. I didn't fit into Victoria secret group.
Load More Replies...They aren't talking about the women having the perfect 'body', they are talking about their lingerie line NAMED Body. Originally called 'Body by Victoria'. They have a fragrance named after it too.
Yea. I'm sorry. Trying to do a body positive image with everyone over a c cup. I am a 28 d. But it appears to be an a because it would be an a 34a rather than a d because the proportions. But seriously.... none of these women represent me without big hips and thighs and smaller and smaller boobs.
The way this madness is ever going to end is when us women stop acknowledging it and feeding it! :P
I am 98 lbs, healthy, and wear Victoria Secret. Why is someone of my size not in the photo? Stop downgrading the skinny girls.
and i dont do anything to keep myself so thin i eat more than my husband (big guy) ... so yeah STEREOTYPING is a thing you know.
i dont even fit in Victoria secret bra's because i have to small boobs for them to look nice... but i do have a frame like thos models
Here's a concept. How about choosing a nice woman? I try to do unto others as I would have them do unto me
Everybody has an idea about what a woman's body should look like. Whatever...
I would be a perfect curvy model, if only I can find the perfect model agency...
What is not mentioned, is that most of the Victoria Secret models have had breast enhancements.
I had an athletic figure in h.s. then I got married and had a daughter. Naked I look like a pole with two deflated balloons. Where's that?
I wish that the fashion world would stop trying to force a certain body type they think everyone wants to see & celebrate all women. Beauty!
they look more normal ,but never going to please everyone ,there will always be a whiner or two .Good job in my opinion.
why is it always about women any ways lets get on the pin d**k a*s wholes who choose the skinny lil titty ladyes!
who is it thats says there is a perfect body, a body is a body no one is perfect only God !
Along with France's ruling, this campaign is such a fine and valiant effort toward getting the just-out-of-Dachau look banned, once for all!
The ladies in the1st picture are models.Means that they are not your everyday bodytype. I do love the picture with the mixed models however!
Where are the petite 5'1 short women with B cups like myself? Where is the naturally 30-24-38..
The Curvy Kate says this is what busty looks like. And when you are busty you have to wear god awful bras or it all comes out the top.
It's bad enough having big boobs, without always having to wear ugly bras. They look like medical support aids! Give us something pretty!
More diverse? Then why can't I see any women with a smaller bust? Featuring only models with big breasts isn't realistic either...
Why all the girls have big boobies? I bet there are also women with small ones :D
They say that beauty lies in the eye of beholder. Mine says "no, no, nononono". :|
With all due respect I think you've missed the point ! Curvy Kate is offering a more honest version rather than a anorexic model !
Don't call the slim women anorexic, how do you know they are anorexic? Just because a woman is slim doesn't me she is anorexic, just slim.
