Guy Creates Body-Shaming Meme Out Of Plus-Size Woman’s Photo, Gets Surprised When She Responds
There are few things in this world more satisfying than watching a sexist, body-shaming creep get reduced to nothing by the Twittersphere. It just happened a few days ago when a South African man turned plus-size model Lesego Legobane, also from SA, into a degrading meme that compared her to a thinner woman. What followed was a take-down of epic proportions.
Referring to the more slender model, Joëlle Kayembe, as “girls I like,” and Legobane as “girls that like me,” he not only insulted curvy women everywhere, but also implied that women should only be ‘liked’ based on their weight and appearance. Are we seriously still dealing with these archaic standards in 2017?
Luckily, the Internet swooped in to mercilessly bury the unsuspecting creep under a layer of clapbacks so dense, it could survive an apocalypse. They didn’t even have to, though, because ‘Leeyonce’ herself delivered the most scathing burn of them all – with just 4 words. Scroll down to see how it all happened, and let us know if you think this was the most entertaining Twitter roasting of the year.
More info: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
Meet Lesego Legobane, aka Leeyonce, a plus-size South African model who just won the entire Internet
It all started when a random guy on Twitter used her image, without permission, in a degrading meme
In response, Leeyonce delivered one of the simplest, yet most scathing comebacks we’ve ever seen
*Slow clap*
The Internet had absolutely no time for sexist, body-shaming rhetoric this time around…
And people proceeded to hilariously roast the offending beyond the point of any possible return
I mean, he did try to return, but it worked out about as well as his initial ‘joke’
The other woman whose photo he lifted to use in his meme even came forward to help shut him down
Leeyonce remains unfazed by it all, as should all women in the face of body-shaming

Share on FacebookI like that the excuse for insulting is always "it's unhealthy". So are stiletto shoes and being under weight. You're not making fun of heavy people because they are unhealthy, you're just a mean person.
Also, as a group, we need to end the use of the phrase "won the Internet...."
Love this story! So what if you're 'plus size', no-one should judge you for it.
I think they both look great. Actually the big girl pulls off her weight awesomely as she still has a great hourglass shape.
Yet it's perfectly ok for women to shame men in the same way right? GUYS1-59c3...c4edb3.png
How about instead of teaching about fat or skinny, you encourage people to be their natural healthy weight
I get that some people are fat out of a health condition. But keeping fat cause "I look beautiful just as I am now" is bullcrap. Obesity and fat aren't pretty, they are unhealthy, risky and lead to diseases. Stop glorifying fat! I know that probably she wouldn't be as famous if she looked normal. But c'mon, take care of yourself and your wieght :/
I know, thanks for posting this. Nowadays it's like as soon as someone is overweight they become mysteriously beautiful and nobody is allowed to say anything at all, yet skeletal girls are fair game. Both are not very nice to look at unless you are into extremes and both are just as deadly. Sure you can have a good attitude about your illness but nobody parades around with their black lungs after a life of smoking and forces everyone to find it beautiful. Because it really isn't to the majority of people. It is only peddled by those inflicted by it to feel better. I happen to like and admire normal sized people and looking at morbidly obese people I see them as a comically distorted version of how a healthy body should look like, it's not right; it's obscene to me, because in 99% of cases it comes about from eating c**p and not giving a damn.

She is not ugly, however, she is overweight. Obesity is a big problem in this world, and it shortens ones life span, opening the door to numerous diseases and general health risks, like heart-attacks and diabetes. Treating overweight people like there's nothing wrong with them is just dangerous and can have ugly repercussion for the kids that will grow up thinking that obesity is no big deal. Of coarse we should not judge people by their appearance, and stop being so obsessed with our image, but we should think about our health and try to keep ourselves healthy. And almost 100% of people have a low ideal BMI. Simply put, they are healthier if they are thin. Of coarse we should be aware of anorexia, and the growing problem that it is. But we shouldn't glorify obesity to combat it. But rather educate ourselves about it, and teach people not to let their self-esteem come from their external attributes and possessions, but rather from their internal attributes, knowledge and achievements.
And right under this is the story "After losing 97 pounds Rebel Wilson looks incredible". :(
YES THANK YOU! I hate when people judge by how others look 😖 Usually those kinds of people are lonely. I just wish people would stop with this kind of nonsense! It happens with everyone at some point and it makes people just hate themselves. People who do this kind of c**p are what cause some teens to be depressed. Just shut up.
There is a HUGE difference between so called "fat-shaming" and acknowledging the fact that overweight people might not be attractive to you or that's it's unhealthy. His post may not have been kind, but there are plenty of people who find heavier people attractive too. Everyone is allowed their preference
and the guy´s message is that he is attractive to women that he himself is not attracted to. But feminism "beauty", what can you do in the face of such blatant manhating? It´s not like the internet is full of memes of fat guys and no one defends them saying they are beautiful unless they have tons of money, right?
Load More Replies...I think she's gorgeous!!! Her response was short and too the point... perfect!!!
Both women are beautiful! Any attempts to place all women in the same box will doubtless receive negative comments. Why? For the same reason that men would provide negative comments if some random stranger attempted to pigeonhole them as well! No one likes it, so why go there? Be funny in a way that brings people together. Then, you won't have to apologize for the rest of your life. Women can be just as ugly to each other in terms of stupid, body-shaming comments. So why do we go there? It's not worth the trouble it causes you! And not just regarding the person in question. Young girls sometimes don't realize that people in your own circle of friends will feel threatened, wondering if they are next, while you are spreading mean comments and rumours. Think they'll ever totally trust you? Not only "No!" but..
Ask the plus-sized model how proud she is of her beautiful curves in 30 years when she has insulin-dependent diabetes and she can'r find a vein in her gorgeously fat arm. Ask her if she has any regrets after her first heart attack. Ask her how curvy and delicious she feels when she needs a motorized cart to get from point A to point B. Out of the two models we'll see who dies first.
having a body type outside of the hourglass figure does not mean she is fat.
Load More Replies...doesn't matter the size whats important is you have a good heart!!
I think she's absolutely beautiful and as long as she loves herself then that's all that matters!
I think she has a beautiful face, but being fat is not good. I look 20 years into the future and I see hurting knees, insulin dependent diabetes, hypertension, heart attack, stroke, congestive heart failure, sleep apnea, wheelchair and death. I have a degree in medicine and I deal with it every day. Believe me, it's neither sexy nor beautiful.
Hahaha. I mean, she's beautiful so if I was a guy, I wouldn't see anything wrong with her liking me. She's beautiful and deserves the best and all the love. (I'm a girl so different story but IF I was a guy)
Here in Fiji when you meet a girl or a guy on the streets, and she/he looks hot and sexy (regardless of her/his size), you can whisper or shout (it depends from your mood...) "Uro!". And actually "uro" in fijian means "fat". I just love this place :)
Stop this! Being fat/big isn't ugly, it's unhealty. That's way more worse.
True, but you don't make fun of those suffering an illness, right? This post is still valid.
Load More Replies...I think this plus size model is friggin stunning. This a*****e could never in a hundred years get with someone as beautiful as her. Contrary to popular belief, bigger women DO have standards and aren't going to get involved with the first man to come along that gives her some attention.
The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the image of Leeyonce was of the extremely powerful and beyond beautiful image of the ancient love & fertility goddess - there is no more gorgeous picture of a woman anywhere. The boy is a child and blind.
I understand the point but I don't think it should be offensive to Lee. If he had made the meme showing the pictures the other way round, how many people would have criticized him?
I love that she's so confident! I also wanna know where she buys her bras lol.
I don't understand why he used her pic in the first place because she's like legitimately hot..
I like a natural looking woman, fat, skinny, ugly, beautiful, I want the personality over all of that, in the end it's what someone makes us feel about life that counts...
Let's imagine that the one on the right was actually ugly (in someone's opinion), here's my response to this ridiculousness: When I see this post all I can think about is the girl on the right may not be super hot but what if she is amazing at love, amazing at making me feel good, amazing at helping me with my goals and I with hers? Do you really want a super hot model type who could have any man she wants and would cheat on you if you fell off telling her how hot she is or would you want a woman that may not be (to the world) super hot on the surface but makes you feel incredible? Looks are one dimension, in the end, it's what you do with your life, how you are, how intelligent you are, how much you can offer her and her you that really counts- looks vs that energy, looks fade, but that energy only gets better. It's ignorant to give a damn about looks, I want passion, love, and incredible conversations, that alone makes any girl, ugly or not, incredibly sexy to me.
It's just the continuation of the same theory that men hold...they profess to liking beautiful, thin, well dressed women strolling down the beach in a scanty bikini. While they sit there judging these women with their waist line sagging, acne on their backs, and legs that haven't seen a leg press in years if ever!! I guess we'll never get past men judging women on a totally different scale than they've ever been judged on! Women need to fight back and not put up with this c**p!
My God, they're both extremely beautiful women! I'd be thrilled to look like either one!
LMAO!! I understand exactly what dude is saying ....He f****d up by putting on SM.....
Just Google "Guys I like Vs. Guys Who Like Me" before making anymore hypocritical comments. GUYS1-59c3...f5d4e3.png
It's not fair either way, and that post is pretty much as bad as this one, but it's true that girls have gotten more sexism, and body shaming, and other such things than a lot of guys. I'm not saying that guys don't get body shamed, but women do get more often.
Load More Replies...It is true tho, we put more attention into when girls are body shamed than men. Can't we just stop being jerks and NOT shame people? Geez.

If you're going to talk s**t about someone, have the balls to do it with the fake concern for someone else's health. I promise you, no one is buying it and you're making yourself look ridiculous and fake as hell.

Load More Replies...the one thing I dislike about this post: "Leeyonce remains unfazed by it all, as should all women in the face of body shaming" That makes me sad... Not all women who get body shamed are strong enough to let it go. What about all the ladies who let it get to them and can't ask for help? What will happen to them. Sorry BoredPanda, but some women can still get fazed and feel horribly depressed.
Oh come on, the guy isn't sexist, he's human. Like it or not, people have preferences in whom they're attracted to. I'm attracted to fit, athletic men. I feel awkward when I have to turn down overweight or obese men but I can't force myself to be attracted to someone that I'm not. Physical attraction does play a role in who we see as our ideal romantic/sexual partner. Maybe some people are into fat but that doesn't make it wrong for those people who aren't. It's easier for the fat acceptance community to pretend they're still healthy and try and force others to tell them they're beautiful or have to deal with the wrath of the fat community than to put in the effort and dedication to lose their excess fat. I bet if the pictures were reversed, the fat community would praise him in how progressive he was.
Everyone is alowed their prefrance, but the point is, he used the photo withoit permision, and made it clear that she is allcarou d less dersirable than the skinny one.

You can have a preference when it comes to weight but that does not mean you get to body shame them, especially on a site where anyone gets to see it. Also, just because a woman does not have an hourglass figure, does not means she is overweight. Women and guys come in different body shapes and what may be healthy for one is overweight for another. The BMI is inaccurate because it fails to recognize this.
Load More Replies...And because he doesn't particularly feel attracted to him he gets to be hateful to her? She's definitely attractive to some men, she's a model.
