Some of you, dear Readers, will remember the good old days when you were a kid, didn’t have responsibilities like paying for heating, didn’t have to worry about horrible things like climate change, and could while away your evenings playing retro games. So it’s quite possible that a lot of you Pandas out there have a nostalgic love of pixels, just like me.

Imgur user Besyattupieniki is a lover of cats, especially pixel cats. In fact, they couldn’t help but share their passion for pixel cattos with the world. After posting a series of amusing photos on the internet, Besyattupieniki found out that there are way more like-minded people than they previously thought.
“I wanted to share them with people. Now this is one of the most viewed and upvoted posts in my life, with over 100,000 views, 3,000 upvotes and 1,200 ‘favorites,’” the Imgur user was overjoyed with how much attention his post (and the funny cats) got online.
Besyattupieniki acknowledged that they only put the photos together and, unfortunately, didn’t take them. But we’re pretty sure they’ll be on the lookout for any pixel cats in the future.
“I think that people love these cats because they're both funny and cute. And most importantly they are cats, one of the biggest obsessions of the internet,” the Imgurian explained the reason for the popularity of pixel cats.
They’re right about cats being loved by most people. They’re the most common pet worldwide and there are anywhere between 200 million to 600 million cattos living on planet Earth. So it’s no wonder that sooner or later some of them will end up in situations that make them look pixelated.
