Menagerie is a series of ink illustrations of pigeons. Pigeons are usually seen as sickly and dirty creatures and I wanted to portray them as beautiful birds trapped in our urban jungle. I had to add and straighten a lot of crooked toes.
Each piece is inspired and subsequently named after well-known prison escapes, like the Texas seven and Alfred Hinds.
