If, however, these pictures get to you now and make you want to click away, I'll argue to go even further, turn off your browser, put away your phone, and disconnect. After all, it's the weekend.

Sure, taking a walk outside without scrolling might seem dull. But you might be surprised where you can end up if you allow your mind to roam free. "Boredom is a symptom, not a condition. In other words, no one is born bored. It arises due to certain conditions," Manhattan-based psychotherapist, speaker, and author Sean Grover told Bored Panda.

"Underneath boredom is always frustration. When frustration is met with passivity, boredom is a natural outcome," Grover, who has 25 years of experience working with patients in group therapy in clinics, schools, and health centers, said.

The psychotherapist said that boredom is often close friends with feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. And the best way to cure it is a counterintuitive one—surrender.

"Boredom can trigger enormous creativity when we tune in to the underlying frustration and come up with creative solutions," Grover highlighted. "Many inventions came out of tackling boredom and resolving it."

He became incredibly bored with his daily life. Through exploring his feelings in therapy, he decided to start playing the piano again."

"He began practicing, and later joined a jazz quartet."

"Now it is one of the most rewarding things in his life. He plays in clubs throughout Manhattan and invites his friends."

Afterward, each group was directed to come up with good excuses for tardiness. The bored group bested their counterparts on both the number and creativity of ideas, as evaluated by objective outside judges.

Another study concluded that boredom motivates people to seek out novelty. Our minds simply wander when we're bored, and we think of new things to try.

The goal, according to Grover, is to dig into the boredom and ask ourselves what is the message it's sending us. "Are you creatively stagnant? Are you lonely? Does your body need exercise? Are you engaged in enough stimulating activities? Are you trying new things?" the psychotherapist said there can be many.

One of the parents snuck into the school, got her children out, got an entire class of kindergarteners out ( Who are very hard to wrangle by the way) and still the cops didn't enter the classroom or the shooter was. that mother is a hero. She saved at least 19 innocent lives. There's 19 innocent lives that were lost in that fourth grade classroom, 19 innocent lives were saved by that mother in the kindergarten classroom. That mother did more than the freaking police

Sadly the oath doesn't matter, it's legal for a cop to put his safety first, they are not "obligated" to protect anyone. If you watch the hallway video those cops were armed, had vests and shields, they were just f*****g cowards.

So much for the NRA slogan "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is for a good society preventing him from getting the gun in the first place.

He never waisted any time on getting the job done, even if that meant his own life could be in danger. "It's your job, so you better do it!" Yes! So in their fear to do their work and save those kids, they let the kids get shot and killed, or play dead in the blood of their friends. Every last one of those cops on the scene, needs to be fired and the parents need to sue the crud out of the police department. All cops know that possibly being shot, is part of their job! What about all that bullet proof equipment and shields???!!! They didn't think to use it!? That is a p**s poor police department. EVERYONE NEEDS FIRING AND THE MAYOR NEEDS TO FIND NEW MEN FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT THERE!!!

Dude that's not even what happened. The police entered the school, they wanted to do something. Some officers even risked their lives to get some of the kids out. It was Pete Arredondo that prevented them from doing anything further. They were literally following orders

    Sarah Brown

They did not risk their lives, they broke windows of other classrooms to get those kids out not the room the gunman was in. Following orders excuse doesn't fly, Pete tried to order border control to not go in but they were like f**k off and did it anyway. The hallway video shows the officers fully armed with vests and shields just standing there, one was just even casually sanitizing his hands, how is standing in a hallway for 77 mins causally talking, sanitizing hands and not even checking if the door was locked risking their lives? They had ONE cop defy orders to because his wife was bleeding out from being shot, they could have said f**k the orders like that cop and border patrol did but they didn't because they were cowards there is no excuse for their inaction. Cops all over the country who have been involved in mass shootings have said themselves they should have took action, that there was NO excuse for not doing it

Cannot judge without having been present at this specific incident, but the idea that a policeman/soldier is obligated to grab a bullet in order to be worth his salary is wrong for so many reasons. They will protect you/fight for you but protect themselves too. Training/equipping is good, but not a guarantee of safety, neither is acting like a movie hero. Saving all the kids but killing all the police would still not be a happy ending. Ultimately, if dying was a regular part of the job it should reflect on the salary. Better yet, make everyone a cop/trooper on a life-threatening moment and see their reaction.
