It's a well-known stereotype that guys care less about the details when it comes to aesthetics; we are kind of chill about things like lighting, mood, and colors, just as long as the desired message gets across. This post reinforces that cliché and then some; it's girlfriend's pics of their beloved Vs. boyfriend's awkward photos.
You can see the method in the girlfriend pics: nice lighting, a good angle to make you look photogenic, and the timing of pose that suggests that she took a few photos at the same time and chose the one you are looking good in. On the other hand, there are the boyfriends. The timing suggests they took a few and chose the worst one, or simply waited until they could capture her at her most hilariously awkward facial expressions. Because, you know, it's funny!
Perhaps it's just a matter of goals. Maybe girlfriends want to photograph their guys at their smoldering best, capturing not just their looks but their unique personalities too, because that's what she would want. Boyfriends might prefer funny photos of a goofy shared memory, who cares about your 'good side?'
Either way, the list makes for some hilarious comparisons, so you know the drill: Scroll on down and check the funny faces and the hilarious 'caught in the act' poses out for yourself!

The boyfriend was just trying to get the hot guy in the background into the pic... lol
I wonder if these boyfriends have caught onto the trend and are doing this on purpose.
I think this one of the gf is much more interesting. I like the light just above and behind the head and there is more of a story to it. Has fairly sharp detail. Good job. Good shot.
Really like the shot on the left. I don't normally like when shots are off kilter but this one works for me. Love the little lens flare. It tells a story, like all good shots. Way to go. I been playing around with photography for 25+ years and I have only taken one shot that I felt was really awesome. That's kinda depressing but I already know I am way to critical on my own stuff. You've got a possible future in this! Nurture it.
Well, as if it needed to be said... I think we know his focal point.
Why do so many people take pictures of each other eating?! I don't really get it
What I get from this entire article is that guys are looking at us. Not our imperfections. Us. They like the picture they see and press the shutter. They obviously care more about us then we do since they think the moment they have captured is best. No perfection. Just us.
My husband actually take better pics than me. He had an eye for photography, I do not. Simple.
I long for the days of sitting in a pub with a pint and literally no one is on their phone, everyone is present in the now. It was a good time.
It’s not a gender thing. I take flattering photos of friends and half of them take the worst angles or lighting or zoom way in...part personal preference, part skill set, part just what?!
I am sick of "spontaneous" frozen instagram pictures. They look like they have been taken by the same person over and over again.I even prefer the eating pics over the "look at me taking the picture for the 2000th time" pics
It's because girls care a lot more about how the photo looks so they spend three times as long getting the perfect shot. I find that boys just take one photo - don't even look at it afterwards - and hand the phone back. Also, I can relate to this thread. Even though I don't have a boyfriend, I'm a photographer and I'm always the one behind the camera, taking literally 5-10 minutes to get the perfect photograph. I'm never the one behind the camera or, if I am, I'm never happy with the result I get.
TBH My wife has this exceptional talent: she can make some stupid face, grimace or just close her eyes the moment mirror in SLR camera rises, I can wait for few minutes before pressing the shutter and yet her sixth sense will tell her when to do it
Because the ones you take of your boyfriend aren't "real" they aren't in the moment. There's no story or depth to them. They look like f*****g stock photos. You're gonna wish you had those silly candids he took of you if something ever happens to him. Y'all are just being petty because you aren't "Instagram ready." But, you are REAL... so in a world of fake insta hotties, embrace your realness. I wish I had more stupid candids.
They are all still better than what I got. last time we went to medieval settlement (reconstructed ofc) and shot some bow, he's got like 10 good pictures and i have... 3 very blurry movies that sometimes show me aiming, but mostly grass under my feet :D
If you want to know the difference between men & women, these pic say it all. Men love the real woman. Women love the man in the fantasy with the right lighting & filters. OoO
Women re too vain and think every pic should be perfect model pics. He's just taking pics of fun real life stuff with you. Get over it.
Maybe you all should stop moving, talking or eating when a camera is pointed your way. Mom always made a face when my dad was taking pictures, then got angry that he took ugly pictures of her. Girl logic?
Isn't this telling people anything about how different people see their significant others? You have the one who takes "the perfect photo", everything about it is frame worthy. You have the significant other capturing moments. Not pictures, not for framing. MOMENTS. That's far more important than an impromptu photo shoot.
I think this should be retitled.."The best pics I could find that I took of my boyfriend vs the worst pics I could find that my boyfriend took of me." As many times as I've seen girls posing for their boyfriends..demanding that they take that one amazing photo..you can't tell me they all miss the mark. It's probably the boyfriend doesn't stop at one photo. It's like "This is the staged her...then this is the real her."
So girls take their boyfriends as trophy, while boys take their girlfriends as girlfriends.
Well, wait until you marry him, then he’ll NEVER take your picture lol (seriously, even if you ask him to)
Why do so many people take pictures of their special others at a restaurant?
All these people do is eat eat and eat... now im hungry damn this post!
I mostly found myself liking the shots the guys took. Sometimes it pays to not think. Everybody did great. Enjoyed all of them. I love photos. Every photo, no matter how bad, tells a story. Some tell horror stories and some are quick statements.
From what I have seen/experienced it is mainly females that care about image, taking photos, posting on social media etc. I am not saying men don’t do it, but most men don’t really feel the need to photograph everything. Usually the photos are of something funny, embarassing, epic or they have been asked to take the photo.
Depends whether they've spent thousands of hours in the gym and believe that they become charismatic, caring, intelligent people just because they have toned abs.
Load More Replies...OOOH, such a relief... I thought only my boyfriend cannot take a decent photo of me...Sorry, althought it's a big generalization from my side, I am pretty sure every girl I know TRIES to take the best shot of her boyfriend...while her boyfriend... is just pressing an action button whatever he sees on camera..

She gave me Dr OLOMESA email, I emailed him he talked to me and he perform the necessary rituals and he told me that after two weeks I should go for a doctor the result was still the same contact DR OLOMESA via email davidcastrocarlo@gmail.com You can also or add him on WhatsApp +08108194902
The real worry is when the guy wants to make a picture where you look 'at your best'; with the right light, angle and so on. Because in his (and yours for that matter) eyes, you should already do; no matter what light, angle or bubbly-belly showing. This is just a reflection of the insecurity of the photographer.
Rather unexpectedly what strikes me most about these photos taken as a group if how the women mostly sexualise the men - look what I've bagged - and the men apparently see the women as real people, funny and sweet and adorable. Not what I would have imagined at all and taken in the right spirit, probably a sign of progress, frankness of one side and a much needed understanding on the other.
relationship priorities ? :) Romanticized fairy tale portrayal contra real world that we love.
I think these women chose pictures to specifically put them in a not so flattering light. It really is a shame that they had to do this. No fa ours for their cause here.
That's because men like their women as they are, and women always try to "improve" their men.
