I'd like to share with you the art project I've been working on for the last two years: "Surfaces."
Through this project, just like different surfaces, the inner self, the skin, and the external self look at each other, they interact, they crash and change their position like in a frantic dance, and as such, my works materialize.
Starting from a picture or a printed image, changing the point of view from outside to inside, the substance is dug in-depth with human force, with fierce tools, by living the work viscerally, perceiving at every heartbeat the blood that from each fiber of the body passes to every molecule of the substance.
The image from the photographic shot is, at times, the symbolic base to tell a story.
A girl runs on the beach, throwing sand grains in the air as if she was trying to free herself of something that is shaping her.
Other times, the photographic paper is the physical layer, with its peculiar frames that, together with color and substance, become soil. Or, through digging, scratching and scraping, releases a luminous essence, a light that I shorn from the most intimate inside, creating trees, the epitome of spirituality and life.
