Once upon a time, there was this project I did, called “Reflections of the Future Past”, a statement on how embracing your past will let you achieve your future.

There, I met for the first time, ten years old curly hair, Sara Ardeleanu, and I was amazed about the amount of talent and will that this little dancer had in her veins. I remember photographing and thinking of how expressive she is while performing difficult moves for her age with such grace and easiness.

So Sara’s Story came to life – a journal of this little dancer in pursuit of her dreams. Soon I realized that this is not only her story, but rather the story of all kids who are passionate about dancing and hoping that, one day, they will make it to the big stage. But in order to succeed they have to pass the three Chapters of Sara’s Story…

Chapter One – The big dream

I dream every night of becoming a great dancer…

I try painting my dreams and…

… imagine how I would look in front of the lights…

I see myself out there…

… fearlessly

…struggling…

Chapter Two – The reality

I like playing, I am just a little girl.

My Teddy bear makes me happy, I would love to play more with him.

But my dream…

I have to train hard, to give my all to become who I dream I will…

Stay there Teddy bear, and look after me!

Chapter Three – The stage

Sara’s journey is filled with big dreams but also with the same amount of challenges. In her world, dreams don’t come true, she has to make them by overcoming reality.

How do you do that?

Well, you fall and fall…

… until you rise again.

Because without falling there is no way of exceeding expectations and transforming that big dream into reality.
