We binge on shiny Instagram feeds of “perfect” people and, admit it, sometimes we want it to be us. They make it look like they are living their best lives and they are always the best version of themselves. We want those beautiful photos of our own that will get deserved recognition and appreciation. The grass is greener on social media and it’s a sign of the times. But when we look around or in the mirror – we don’t seem to have the opportunity for that flawless studio photography shot. But what if we told you that you can make it work? It‘s creative ideas and talent that really count here and this professional photographer has it all. Orlando-based Geo Leon makes the photography industry a little more real and accessible to us by revealing the behind the scenes of his best shots. And if you think it’s always luxury rentals and expensive equipment… well, you are about to change your mind.

When we look at professional photographs, we rarely get to have a glimpse of the whole creative process. We often just assume that a beautiful photo must be taken in a fancy place and it must cost a fortune. And this is not always the case. Geo Leon proves that you can turn casual locations you’d never expect to have potential, such as a parking lot, a grocery shop, the nearest park, a restaurant or even your house into an Instagram-worthy set if you know some clever photography hacks. Staying creative and open-minded can create a magical atmosphere for an artistic photoshoot in the bushes or fruit and vegetable aisle.
Wait, did they close the road for a photo or do they have a death wish. I hope the road was closed for construction or something and then they used it for the photo because it was convenient (and not that they closed the road just to take a photo or that the road was open when they took it)
American photographer Geo Leon cleverly combines unexpected locations with ordinary props that we use in everyday life to create unique portraits and each one of them tells a different story. With creativity being his best ally, Leon is able to seamlessly incorporate foods, flowers and various objects into his dreamlike scenarios and make it seem like they belong there perfectly. He makes these photography tricks look so simple and easy. But the actual secret behind his enchanting work is mad skills in composition and photo editing as well as a special ability to see greatness in the most simple settings.
Yes you have to be bananas to bending over the fruit pretending to answer the phone
“As a photographer, we always show the final product. It's always great to showcase the work behind the vision,” the artist explained to Bored Panda about why he decided to share more than just polished photos. This honest way of managing social media seems to attract a big audience and is quickly becoming a new trend. In this oversaturated world, people are longing for something real and truthful. This is exactly why 140k followers on Instagram stand by Leon’s side and anticipate his new inspirational artwork and photography tips.
This one looks more like a realistic drawing than an actual photo, too smooth and flawless
It's great to use photoedition programms to make the crown fly and to improve the light... BUT HE RESCULPTED THE WHOLE GIRL! She was already goregeous, the edition on her was unnecessary
We have previously talked about other photographers who similarly invited us to the secret behind-the-scenes of their impressive artwork. Calipatria-based photographer and graphic designer Calob Castellon and Brazilian wedding and family photographer Gilmar Silva have shared their work-in-progress pictures along with unbelievable results. They prove that professional photoshoots are definitely not always what they seem - and we're not just talking about the amount of Photoshop involved. From hilarious environments to dangerous tricks and smart solutions, we applaud these talented photographers for being brave enough to reveal the raw backstage of their work.
If her neck/shoulders twist that way while she's lying on her front, she dead :-D
AGAIN WITH THE BUSHES! Get out of the poor bamboo tree you look weird
Beautiful photography, but the girls were edited so much they didn't even look human anymore
They all look like dolls.I get it is his style, probably a lot of people find it cute.
Load More Replies...I must admit - I just don't GET this! Get out of the damn street. Leave the bananas alone. Climb back onto the sidewalk and stop tormenting the innocent plants. Damn. Get a cool picture in your own space, that's fine! But don't assume that the world must bend around you.
This leaves me cold. It is too obvious that the photographer is a man and subsequently all the girls have that vacuous expression saying "Do I look pleasing to you? Am I attractive enough? Do you approve of me? I am only as worthy as I look, isn't that so?" Like 1940s or 50s pin-up girls. Naah, I prefer some spunk and personality, and I am pretty sure that most guys do too.
Oh great, another instagram post. This comment section is about to get toxic
This is beyond ridiculous... The lengths people will go to for some lousy-a*s likes... Most pictures are just crazy, pretentious nonsense anyway. I'm sorry, I love beautiful pictures as much as the next idiot, but this is so pointless... Rant over: bring on the downvotes! *waits with open arms*
Edited the hell out of his models... And everybody's wondering why people have low self-esteem and try to cope with it via hyper consumerism.
So you take some very young and beatiful faced girls (not professional, you don't nedd nor pay for models). You take and expensive camera and you take a close pic of their face, bluring the back. You make them pose as silly needed sad weak dolls, and even you edit them to put off any piece of humanity or expression. And that's all. It should make beautiful pics but they aren't. They look random, boring and cutres. Ah! So afterwards, you pose in weird places and postures to show how hard and creative is your job. Selfish selfies. 👏👏👏
The headline did not represent anything. I thought these were going to be surprising or something. Nope. You mean a girl lying on the road (pic), was a girl lying on the road (bts pic)? Wow, I'm blown away. The photos also make the girls look like plastic blow up dolls and not many of these pics have any personality. Sorry, I don't like to be this harsh to a fellow photog but these are just cliche and boring. Some of them are very well done though. Others, not so much. There's no "there" there.
The photographs are very skilled & designed but the subject matter is just kind of "huh?" I don't care about, or like, any of them. Clearly a lot of skill and talent went into these pix but... why?
Bah, I hate all that instagram s**t where people think they are famous when doing shittycthings
So, "dangerous tricks and smart solutions, we applaud these talented photographers for being brave enough to reveal the raw backstage of their work" for heaven's sake it's not like they go to Serengeti to film starving man-eater lions! And not the first ones to show off with their WIP either
Beautiful women. Why was it necessary to have them pose in ridiculous places/ positions for a routine close up though?
Though I want to crush the lack of originality or unlearned skill in using presets and shallow depth of field...they are out creating. And I cannot hate on that. Let them have fun.
so the trick to this "amazing" photography is great editing skills...
Great pictures, but seems like nowadays the people who can't paint simply make photographs then retouch them with editing software, not sure if it's a new form of art or just lazy cheaters, everyone is an artist this way... If my little 15 year old girl can do almost the same with her phone, it's probably not art....
So a 'little' fifteen year old isn't capable of creating art?
Load More Replies...Make-up pro + photography pros + beautiful model + post-production. Well, that's how you do things, the fun and beautiful image is the result of serious work.
Even tough I appreciate the creative process behind the photos presented here, I sure hope the photographer and his team had permission to be there. It infuriates me when Instagrammers feel entitled to other people's property just so they can take those vanity photos. I expect they paid for the bananas and the plants they damaged.
Far too photo shopped for just "usual "pictures. I feel for the models that no longer look like themselves. However, to be real, the changing of pictures has been happening far longer than how long photo shop has been around. I enjoy his pictures for the ART they are, but they are not at all Real. Like, the one with the red cape and floating crown? That woman without photo shopping was not the super vibrantly colored woman in the picture on the left. Was really a HUGE difference.
What you have to say. His skills are great. Without a studio such great photos. Wow. But. They do not really look realistic or natural. Like paintings.
As long as these models and photographers respect property and gardens then I have no problems w these shots. Everyone is a little creative to make things beautiful. Buts it's a self centered time we live in now. And all of them scream to help this or help that. Boycott this or that. But a fancy photo fixes everything apparently.
Imagine, walking down the road and then you see THIS. I'd just stop and stare...
Change the title to “Look at all my photoshop!” Or alternatively “I hate the way women and girls look naturally so I fix them with FaceTune!”
Instagram worthy? The site is'nt that exclusive. Yeah, the photos are nice, but saying that they are good enough for instagram is like saying a Van Gough is good enough for my local gallery.
Can we stop criticizing and just appreciate the unique, artistic, creative photos they took? Jeez.
But their photos are neither of these... You could go to Instagram or any site where they show off with "artistic portraits" and get drowned in pictures like these.
