I Show How 10 Disney Princesses Would Look If They Were Real Girls In 2019
What if Disney Princesses were real girls in 2019? I took 10 professional models and transformed them into Disney Princesses for a photoshoot.
These shoots took months to plan but were so fun to shoot. I bought all of the clothes myself and tried to match them well with each princess. It was really a challenge trying to find something that still fit the theme but was still in style (in 2019). I worked with makeup artist Hayley Kassel for most of the princesses and makeup artist Courtney Hagen for Snow White.
Just a few things I wanted to share about this series:
1. The model for Mulan (Serena) is Chinese. We shot her photos in Seoul, South Korea, as she lives there. That’s why you’ll see Korean in the background for one of the photos!
2. Tinkerbell is not a princess, but I still wanted to add her because I love her character.
3. Sophia who portrays Pocahontas is Mexican, French and Native American.
4. I styled every model, with the exception of ‘Jasmine’ (who is a stylist and picked her own outfit!)

These women in no way, reflect their characters and I thought boredpanda was finally through with this ridiculous fixation on Disney characters. May I remind the staff that very few of your readers are pre-teenage girls.
May I remind the community this article was submitted by one of its members, NOT bp staff, and that these women do reflect how a young adult would dress in today’s world? Also that in at at least four of these, the model is as covered or more covered up than the inspiration?
Load More Replies...Just what is this obsession with Disney princesses? I've seen so many similar articles on social media and I just don't understand the fascination.
Lilia as Ariel is so dizzying beautiful *_* I like them all but I wished to see a more natural look. Makeup is princessy esp for this occasion.. But I think would've highlighted their striking resemblances by just going natural, imo :)
*said the prince looking for Cinderella* "Forgive me fair maiden, dost thou a*s fit into this thong that my true love lost at the royal ball this fortnight ?" Oh-oh, I got the feeling I said something downvotey again :D
Where were these taken the backdrop for Tiana is my dream home!!!!!! Also I'm glad we are back in the dress combat boot fashion era.... YAY 90's!!!!
Not a fan of the Disney Princess genre, but I think these are cool because they're not overly literal.
Cinderella won't lose her shoe! Ruins the entire story. She should be in at least a slip on.
I really loved these, all the models were gorgeous and none of the characters were white washed and their outfits fit with the characters! Well done!
Love the outfits, but their expressions/poses are too basic.
yeah I agree idk why you got downvoted? like the expressions don't really express their character, they're more like pretty standard model expressions/poses. I feel like Snow White would have less of an "edgy/sassy" expression and more of a kind one, and Ariel and Belle and a few others would have a more curious/wondering expression y'know?
Load More Replies...I think Tashi as Belle is a bit of a fail. Don't get me wrong, the girl is super beautiful but I can't see her as Belle. The rest are really good!
Quite like these. Really well done. Not sure I like Belle though. Just doesn’t work or look right.
Can we stop with the Disney c**p already. This is getting old. How many times do we need to see the princesses "re-imagined?" Come up with something original already...preferably nothing Disney.
I'd like to think the Disney princesses were beautiful without the tonne of make up or cosmetic augmentation. Nice pics, but a bit more true to natural beauty would have been nice, especially as several of these original characters are very young.
I don't know I am on the fence....If it is today where are the fish faces and girls taking selfies of themselves? And why aren't of them holding a cell phone?
Am I the only one that noticed the models have abnormally large feet?
Some people on here are such, don't mind my language, a******s. Like dang, there is absolutely no reason to hate on these stylists, models, or photos. Although I think the makeup was a little dramatic, I found the photos to be incredible. I am only 16 and I aspire to be like these incredible women. I want to be a designer and work in this type of industry. The outfits were gorgeous, and spot on for the trends of today. The models were gorgeous as well and fit the characters perfectly for,our time. Like, not having a girl that is 100% native American, for example, shows that our society isnt separated in these catagories of race, but is all one and that race isnt some boundary that shouldn't be crossed. And about the sexuality thing, they are modeling so of course they are, going to strike a pose. They are not showing too much skin at all, there are so many other things out there that are way to inappropriate, this is not one of them.
Also, to all the incredible people that put this together, I hope you read my comment because this is an incredible, piece of work, I love it l. Every single one of,you inspire me and I hope that I can be like you one day, getting to do what you love in the art world and love doing it. Don't listen to any of,these stupid hate comments, they are just ppl who have nothing better to do with their lives other than bring down other people and make their successes seem like failures. That's pretty much all I have to say, but I hope u can somehow let me know if,u read this😄💯💟 GREAT JOB!

Disney Princess in reality again. Again. And again. Disney Princess as modern girls. Disney Princess as hipsters/nerdy/popular chicks. What would Disney Princess look in real life? Now I'm just waiting for the article: I quit my job to draw what Disney Princess look like if they live in reality.
Instead of "How 10 Disney Princesses Would Look If They Were Real Girls" I would title this "Photoshoots inspired by Disney princesses... and Tinkerbell"
I really liked the dress that the Ariel girl is wearing. I 💗 sequins.
Love this so much ..but Belle is a miss for me , Belle has that iconic hair style that can not be overlooked.
I thought they were all spot on except Belle--didn't think they chose the right model for her
Fun, and spot on. I'm peeved with the industry's voracious onslaught of body shaming and cosmetic endorsement targeting such tender, vulnerable ages, but these lovelies do appear to capture his heroines' essence.
hey, I don't know you at all, but I promise you're beautiful. don't hold yourself to the standards of looking like these women; although they are definitely beautiful in their own right they're not the exact picture of beauty. I know it's hard to deal with self-consciousness and you have to learn to love yourself on your own, and hearing me say this might sound a little repetitive or useless. just know that everything will be okay. happiness isn't something you can aspire to but rather something that comes along with being kind and loving others, and being loved in return. you are a beautiful human being and so is everyone else that reads this and is working toward being the best version of themselves, not mimicking a model they see online.

Load More Replies...I thought these were really cool! The only one I didn't really like was Cinderella, but I'm not really sure why. Otherwise, amazing!
Nothing wrong with not liking one or all of them. I didn't like Belle :).
Load More Replies...Great pics. Belle is all wrong though. Ariel is my favourite....only because I like seeing us pasty, ginger women represented in a positive way (and I am in love with that sparkly green dress!) :D
I love this I feel like they did a wonderful job bringing the characters to 2019 and I prefer Belle better to her movie character.
I rather enjoyed this article. Nice selections of RG's in my opinion. All a bit too skinny though, that's my only issue with the selection....
I must confess: I opened the page, pretty sure I wasn’t going to like it. I was wrong as hell. Excelent! And the models are beautiful, but Sydney is something else. Congrats to the artist!!!!!
Snow White was too tall but very beautiful nonetheless. They were al stunning girls, Jasmin was spot on!!
I think these are beautiful and she did a wonderful job! I can def see a lot of these models as their intended princess. The model who portrays Jasmine is incredibly beautiful!!! Whoa!!!
Great job. Love how they are dressed....not to revealing, like Disney likes to do, but very tastefully....yet we still know who each woman is representing. Lovely jog.
They are not weird faced, I thing there was just a tad too much highlighter used
Load More Replies...I get that like you want to be diverse and everything but just randomly changing one of the characters ethnicities is sort of weird to me. Like if it was “Disney princesses reimagined with new ethnicities” or whatever that would make more sense, but completely changing belle’s hair color, hair texture, and skin tone doesn’t really work. Mostly since she was a French girl and it’s not really possible that she would look much different than she did. But other than that they were cool!
Uhm... do you know many French girls? Because there's not really a generic "French Girl"-haircolor and if there was, it would probably look more like the one from the photo than the one from the Disney-movie. France has a long history of diverse culture, and there's no reason Belle couldn't have looked like that. I do understand your reasoning, as it's the only one that is completely different from the movie-princesses. Personally, I like the choice, and it's fine if it's not to your taste. But there's not basis on "Frenchness", really.
