I Capture Wild Animals And Stunning Landscapes In Lithuania Using My Drone (22 Pics)
My name is Martynas and I am a photographer from Lithuania. This year I tried to capture not only beautiful landscapes of the country I live in but also wild animals using drone photography.
Getting up early became my routine and checking weather forecast was my priority. While there is some planning before beautiful nature shots, the same cannot be said about drone photos of animals since you almost can't plan a shot unless it is cattle or bison.
While cows or horses are easy to deal with, it cannot be said about roe deers. It is very hard to capture an aerial view of roe deers using a drone but there is a technique that helps a bit (I succeeded only once after a dozen tries). What amazed me a lot is the calm reaction of the fox which did not mind the drone at all. Male deers stand bravely while female deers keep a safer distance.

This is really, really cool. But once again, what is it and what's going on?
It is actually a gravel road
Load More Replies...I love the way you were able to get close to the animals!! I wish I could experiment with a drone, they're so good for photography ^ ^
Thank you for sharing your work. My grandmother's family is also from Lithuania. Your sunrise views show the beauty of her country in a way I've never seen before. Very well done.
Thanks, I mostly love chasing sunsets, it requires a lot of time calculations!
Load More Replies...My mother's family immigrated from Lithuania in the 70's. I hope to visit there one day.
Always welcome! Lithuania changed a lot since 70's, especially the capital. We live now much safer and while there are lots of problems to solve we can say we live much better than ever before. For a nature lover Lithuania is a real treasure!

Load More Replies...Beautiful photos... only I think cows and combines are not wild animals... :)
Thank you. Actually, the headline is not mine, originally I wrote just animals :)
Load More Replies...The noise from drones has shown to be detrimental to wild animals. Several species, including prairie dogs, react to them as if they are predators. One animal, for the life of me I can't remember which, uses its alarm call that we understand to mean "eagle" when exposed to drones in flight.
Can't agree on that. The biggest predator to any animal is a human. You could drive by a car or tractor to the same animal and it will still would treat you like a predator despite it's being you, not a drone. In my experience, most animals don't not pay attention at all and some are just curiously looking at drones. Fearful animals would run from anyone anyway that are not: a) their species b) their food.
