In 2014 I had a vision for a nude photo series that did not show any nudity. I didn't know how I was going to accomplish this photo idea, but I knew I wanted it to be a little more complex than just a body-scape series.
I wanted to have the option of using a wider frame and essentially being full-frontal nudity while still being as decent as possible.
Over the years I had become more than a little frustrated by sub-par boudoir photos receiving lots of attention just because they showed a half-naked body. Granted, there are many amazing boudoir photography professionals out there who really do excel in their craft.
I came up with this idea after seeing a few beautiful photos from a series where a photographer painted simple landscapes on models and then took the image. I liked the idea but thought it could go a little further. I wanted to see natural textures over the entirety of the model.
I enlisted the help of boudoir photographer, Jen Swedhin. I really liked her skills as a photographer and she had access to a client list who was comfortable being nude in front of the camera. While she shot the models in her studio, I collected texture samples from wherever I could. She passed her stunning pictures along to me and I created a blend of the two.
The process was a fun and unique challenge. Below are some of my favorite photography artworks.
