So elegant! And of course, you need some entertainment in the background for those hours of work.
Kihmberlie is a one-woman band: she models, she photographs everything herself, and she shares every step of the behind-the-scenes process. That is some really impressive dedication, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that this is the sort of work ethic that leads to success.
The Instagram influencer gave Bored Panda an interview during which she talked about what inspires her and revealed some previously unknown details about her work.
“I was in college at a styling class and while I was styling a woman and showing her how to pose I started thinking “I wish I was in front of the camera instead of behind it.” Then I started researching and getting into modeling. I don’t really consider myself a photographer since the majority of the time I’m only taking photos of myself, which I started doing to gain modeling experience,” Kihmberlie went into detail about how she got into modeling in the first place.
According to the model, doing all the work herself has “gotten easier,” as she’s been doing it for around 3 years now. “But starting off it was pretty difficult, especially since at the beginning I was shooting everything on my phone, so I couldn’t see if I was off-center or in-frame sometimes.”
“It’s mostly just a lot of work and making sure everything is in place because you’re focus is on everything in front and behind the camera, not just one aspect of the shoot,” she said.
“My favorite things are definitely pushing myself to get better, trying different poses and facial expressions, figuring out how to create photo ideas with minimum resources and transforming the spare room every week,” Kihmberlie revealed what makes her tick.
Love this! I wanna be the friend that helps her create & execute these awesome ideas! It looks so fun
The model shared some hints for those of you chasing your dreams of modeling: “Just go for it. I never had a backup plan. I’m not saying don’t have a plan B, but if you do have a plan B, don’t let it become a crutch where it turns into your safety net and now you’re too scared to go after what you really want to do.”
“There’s always a way to create what you want, even if it looks impossible,” Kihmberlie shared some motivation. “There have been plenty of times where I’ve finished a shoot and surprised myself because I didn’t even know how I did or came up with it. I do always pray before my shoots so I know that helps.”
I like the idea that you've accidentally opened a door into a magical cloud land! She seems busy-- I would probably apologize and close the door XD
The model’s pictures together with her photography tips have enthralled a whopping 81,400 people on Instagram. Her newest photoshoot got more than 28,400 likes and received over 765 comments (and counting). She also has 49,100 followers on Twitter.
According to the model, the prep work for her photoshoot was incredibly time-consuming. It took 12.5 hours to set everything up, which is one-and-a-half workday's worth of effort. I think we can all appreciate Kihmberlie’s resolve.
I'm more like the neighbor standing behind the window with a cup of coffee and thinking, "Oh, look how nice, she's taking pictures again." :)
Because Kihmberlie used roses in her newest photo shoot, there are sure to be plenty of people who will want to follow in her footsteps. However, it would be a real shame to just throw away all of those beautiful flowers after your work is done, so here are a few tips to help you keep the flowers fresh for longer.
Reader’s Digest suggests that you pour a tiny amount of soda (that’s right, fizzy drinks, pop, liquid sugar) into the vase’s water because sugar makes blossoms last longer. Mixing sugar with apple cider vinegar has a similar effect; you can also mix a few drops of alcohol with sugar for the same results.
What’s more, if you use hairspray on the bottoms of leaves and petals, they’ll stay fresh-looking longer as well. Crushing aspirin and pouring it into the water keeps flowers looking prim, as does dropping in copper coins. With these tips, your flowers should stay fresh, meaning your home can look just as beautiful as Kihmberlie’s photoshoot and for much longer.
These are such gorgeous photos and creative set-ups! All the more impressive that she designed and photographed them herself.
All the hater comments crack me up "the pics are heavily edited..." "Easier to use photo shop less mess" etc.... Listen if you think you can do better, by all means do it! This girl is doing everything by HERSELF. No help. It takes a LOT of creativity and even the "heavily edited" I'm a photographer and I can tell you that although editing has come a LONG way and is MUCH easier now with all the different apps and software, it still takes some skill AND an eye for detail. If you don't have some kind of vision, no amount of editing in the world will make your photos look good. Leave her alone.
