There's no one true way to see the world, there are only perspectives. And yet while every perspective is important, some of them are more interesting than others, and kids often have the most interesting ones. Someone in our community raised a good question (just like a kid would) about what weird things kids have said to them that made them think differently about life.

And as you would expect, children almost habitually make truly profound observations.

"Tell Us Something Weird A Kid Has Said To You That Made You Think About Life In A Different Way": 30 People Replied I met a 6-year-old with an imaginary gecko. She had it in her hands. Asked if I would like to see the gecko. Of course, I would. When she went to show me, said gecko escaped. She loudly chased after him yelling ' come back Randall, I have treats! I have Oreos Randall.' etc. She then 'caught' Randall, and proceeded to show me. It was one of the most delightful things I've seen. I hate that this kind of imagination is pounded out of us as we get older.

A can of spray here is about $3 and obviously graffiti artists use it to sign a wall to say to the world "i exist" even if the state and no one else cares that they exist. However, two buckets of paint to paint a small house is about $50-100 each

"Tell Us Something Weird A Kid Has Said To You That Made You Think About Life In A Different Way": 30 People Replied I was weeding my lawn with one of those weed grabber tools that digs them out by the roots while you stand more or less upright, mainly dandelions. My five year old daughter ran up to me and with big tears says, "No! Don't kill the dandy lions mommy! If there were only one, you would plant more and tell me they were beautiful!!!!" Needless to say no more " dandy lions" have ever died at my hands and it made me think of other things that are common but that we over look that are beautiful and valuable, like older folks, little kids, and earnest young people doing the best they can in a sucky, difficult time and world.

Well.... crying reliefs the body of some toxins and reduses the stress levels and it can help with weight loss. Lol. No really, ppl have done reseach on this and found out that crying can help with weight loss! I think I even saw somewhere that there's a specific time when it's better to cry than other times. I think it was something like between 7 and 9 pm. My point is that if you believe that God made your eyes then yes, he made them ALSO for crying because crying is good for you and physically healthy.

One time, I was visiting my parents in Florida. My 5 yo niece and I were night swimming in the pool with the flood light on, hanging on to a floatie. We were just talking about random things and all of a sudden says , aunt Kim, can we pray? I said sure! So she proceeds to pray for all of the family, and at the very end, says “and God, take care of yourself, too.” I was absolutely go smacked, floored! What kind of heart this kid had.. not once when I have prayed, did I ever remind God, to take care of himself! I, of course started to after that. How simply kind and altruistic and loving she was, to think about God needing to take care of himself! I was forever altered by her words, for the good!

Just before bed, my daughter - she is 9 - said to me: "But mom, you're going to die soon, you know?" I was shocked and asked: "What do you mean by that?" And she explained: "Because you're so old!" And it took me an hour to explain to her that I was barely 43 and that I am still young. I look younger and I feel younger. Forty years is the best age for God’s will. Everything before is just research, life starts at 40 ... :)

My daughter said to me "You know we don't know if we see colors the same way" Like what I see as red and call red may look to someone else like what I see as orange... We have no way of knowing...

I kinda don't know how I feel about this because I'm thinking well the shapes of cones in our eyes capture certain wavelengths; and each color is a different wavelength... but our brains could interpret those things differently and we wouldn't know that.

Studies show that how we percieve colors are (partly?) Due to our culture and language. Some peoples have one word for what we call blue and green and they can't see the difference between the two -according to those studies. I also once saw a documentary about a tribe that had a word for 1, a word for few and a word for many. So if they caught 10 fish they'd say they had many fish but couldn't understand the difference between 8 or 10 fish because both piles of fish simply consisted of many fish. I do believe there's a whole specific research area about the understanding of colors/numbers and culture/language.

I am still a kid, but I don’t care. I don’t know if this counts, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

My dad has a really good friend, and they smoke and drink, but my dads friend also vapes. I was over at their house, and their kid says, “Dad, do the dragon breath”. To be honest, I felt disappointed that now kids and adults are so used to smoking, drinking, and such, that parents won’t even hide it anymore.

The hard part is knowing when to sacrifice is right and when an individual becomes the world. They were obviously wrong but the Nazis thought the final solution was saving the world. Do you give the ventilator to the 65 year old man with COVID who took all his shots and followed the rules but was just unlucky or do you give it to the 22 year old mother of two who caught COVID at a party because she didn't believe it was real? Either way, you are both a hero for putting the world first and an villain for risking our combined future for one individual.

Their owner (the blind person) will pick it up. They know where the dog sat their booty down to poop (spatial awareness), they just have to hoover over that spot (with poopbag) and they can feel the warmth. And in that way they are able to pick it up. Learned that a long time ago.
