People Are Roasting This Insane Personal Assistant Job Ad Posted By Famous LA Influencer

Have you ever had a job that you wholeheartedly hated? A job that absolutely sucked? Or maybe that’s how you feel about your current job? If your answer is yes, this article might have the potential to make you feel at least a tiny bit better.

Recently, a popular LA-based social media influencer with many followers on socials has listed a personal assistant job ad. And it’s absolutely ridiculously terrible. Many people are savagely roasting this job ad, some are concerned and some were left speechless. The listing has since been deleted, but luckily a user named TaylorLorenz saved it and has recently posted screenshots of this funny ad on Twitter.

Just take a look yourself

“A well known celebrity/influencer with 10+ million followers is seeking a well organized/available/diligent personal assistant to join her team,” the listing reads

If you want to become this influencer’s “part-time” personal assistant, you’re gonna have to do A LOT of things. Some of the fan’s favorite requirements include being on the property around 8 hours a day, cleaning, cooking, communicating with producer, videographer, editor, manager, stylists, cleaning services, and friends, being on call almost 24/7, keeping “all emotion/private life matters completely away from this world,” is expected “to be with the client all the time,” being able to handle hundreds of small tasks at once and many more.

“Actual work hours will be flexible, but generally expect to be with the client all the time”

Moreover, you’ll have to wake the client each day with a schedule, coffee, and other requests, constantly communicating with brands, managing their social media accounts, assist on video projects, schedule traveling, the list of unrealistic expectations goes on.

Also, you “MUST live 40-60 minutes away from Los Angeles,” must have a car and drive them anywhere at any time of the day, have to always stay calm, professional, and quiet, you’ll be allowed to have only a few days off and you must be able to travel internationally anytime.

And you’re gonna have to do all of this for $25-30 an hour.

People were confused to say the least

Some thought this whole thing was absolutely terrible

Some seemed quite concerned

Some were inspired to share their own experiences of working as personal assistants

And one of the users ACTUALLY applied

Legally if you're on call 24 hours a day and not exempt, you should be paid hourly. At the stated rate of $25-30 per hour, x24 hours, (with 'minimal days off' - say 5), equals around $220-260,000 per year before tax. I'd do it. Somehow I don't think they're following CA labor laws here.

I'm not saying this isn't terrible, because it is, but it also doesn't seem all that strange or unusual. I've heard about personal assistants being treated like this before, and I doubt there's many people -whatever their profession - who can say that they've never had a boss who asked them to go beyond their job description for little or no extra pay. Again, not saying that's right, just that it isn't unusual.

I Have a friend who's a work assistant for someone who also has personal assistants with similar schedules, they are available 24/7 for the most ludicrous demands. They mostly also change every couple of years (there's usually more than 1 at any given moment since they do need to sleep and pee sometimes). Within the first year they also usually buy several cars, whole new designer wardrobe and an apartment in a city where people usually take a 30-year mortgage. So, yeah, people are happy to work, they just should get paid accordingly.

Influencer isn't a job, it's exploitation, on a number of levels. It's sad and ridiculous. If you're not a baby or toddler, you can figure out, on your own, how to dress, apply cosmetics, what to watch and listen to and what social media sites to use, etc. Once you're 18 and older, life is going to be VERY hard if you need to turn to someone else, to be told what choices to make and how to live your life.

The work hours are weird and I feel like they should have set hours and days off and if the boss wants to call them in during that off time they should get a decent bonus for it. Also shouldn't cleaning and cooking be a maid's job? If I was rich enough to have a PA I think I would also have a separate driver. You set yourself up to be helpless if this person get's sick or brecks their leg or something. If I won the lottery I would love a 'Pepper Potts' PA but you got to be prepared to breck out the credit card for shoes if they a badass 24/7.

REALLY? Part time job? And can move to full time if you do well? It sounds like you would do better to move in but you would probably want to strangle this “influencer” if you did. The job sounds like it already eats up more than 12 hours a day. If she’s an influencer, she should be making good money, right? Part of your job sounds like it should be given to a housekeeper. I would run from this crazy person as fast as I could.

Totally "par for the course" I worked as a nanny for years. I once had a woman tell me that her nanny had the GALL to tell her she needed SOME time for herself after they came back from a 3 week vacation in Hawaii where the nanny was 24/7 with the family, doing ALL the work with her 4 kids. She told me "She asked if I was KIDDING when I told her that I didn't want her to take next day off (as previously agreed) to unload our suitcases! " "She expected me to unpack MY OWN bags!" Another wanted to fire a nanny for leaving bread crumbs on the kitchen counter. I have DOZENS of stories like this ad

This job is pretty "Par for the course" in the world of personal assistants, chefs, nannies, etc. I have worked as all 3 and this kind of job posting is NOT AT ALL unusual. This is EXACTLY why Lady Gaga's got sued by her personal assistant. These ppl expect total devotion bc they are rich and or famous. Even when in " ...." Like "rich" and "famous." TBH the ad was pretty honest in what the job entails. I have also done work in reality TV. You think this is bad? You should read the 13 page contract that states I could be KILLED on set due to their negligence and my family or estate would have no cause against the producers, show or network. NBC basically owned my likeness and name for 3 years and I could not be on any other shows without their permission. ANY recipes or food items I cooked on their property, they owned. So, if I came up with the next "Cronut" or food craze, I would have zero benefit. You probably think "Oh, I would NEVER sign something like that!" Ok..100 will

Want ad from 1997: “LIVE IN – 4 person: 1 man, 3 women (1:92 yr) 2 screenwriters working on blockbuster Hllywdmovie with purpose of teaching perception + value of human spirit. We need stable support from a highly honest, loving, capable, consistently hard working woman (2 considered) comfortable with multi-tasking, who is an impeccable, immaculate housekeeper, average gardener, gentle caretaker, strong handed masseuse, zone-diet health oriented cook, economical shopper; who will contract to work for 2 straight yrs – in exchange for room, board, salary. If you wish to sing, we can teach you. No drugs. No emotional baggage: personal spiritual space must be elevated, clean, positive, unneedy + extremely willing to help, work + Do for others, with no ‘attitudes’ or negativity silently telegraph into the atmosphere or our creative space. We want support to produce a culture changing universal transformational work of art. . . . Will partially train right person.”

I don't see the problem - $25 - $30/hour seems like pretty decent pay for an entry level job with only 1 year of experience required. Yes the job has a lot of duties, but as long as it's paid by the hour it doesn't seem out of line. The 24x7 oncall and living an hour away are questionable, but that's the nature of a personal assistant job. (and they don't all pay $60K annualized salary)

In many states, it's illegal to have a part-time employee on-call 24/7. I can't imagine who would be willing to take this horrible job.

If this were for an Oscar winner and with the potential of bagging a hottie in her circle, I'd consider lol

I started thingking that she basically wants Dexter Morgan as an assistant. After all, he does check all the boxes: remains calm and rational, keeps his emotians hidden, and does not require lots of sleep etc.

This whole thing just strikes me as: "I recognize that I need to be a functional adult, but I want YOU to do all the work for me. #definitelyparttime #itisn'tslaveryifipayyousomething"

Is there anything that is NOT in this job description? This is a job for three people, at least. To add insult to injury, the hourly pay rate that is offered is way too low.

Social media has a shelf life. Once it's gone these f*****g losers will need to get real employment.

Sounds like this 'influencer' wants a robot rather than a flesh-and-blood personal assistant. I can't Imagine someone working like that without going berserk or dropping dead.

Sounds like my employer although they think it's cool to pay that hourly rate for the whole day. And the wonder why people are sour.

Right.....so she's on Instragram to yammer about her "life", but she doesn't want to actually have one. Got it. ...///... That job description covers a housekeeper, cook, lady's maid, chauffeur, admin assistant, and companion. That's six jobs. ALL full time. For 25 bucks an hour? Who is this silly b***h and where can I go to mock her?

What about wiping their a** in exchange of the honour of simply basking in the influencer's celestial radiance? Influencers with over 10 million followers surely can't do that on their own...

What they actually mean: "I want you to live my life and do all of the work I hate, so I can sit on my a*s doing nothing of any real value in front of a camera. I'm self-appointedly famous, you see, why should I have to deal with all the boring aspects of my chosen career? That would be so lame and not fun."

Influencer (n): Someone who can manipulate others, heavily edit photographs and lie consistently.... no business skills, no people skills, no respect or compassion for others in any way.... basically a narcissistic parasite on society.
