Sadly, the original Grumpy cat – also known as Tardar Sauce – recently passed away but his immortal legacy is bound to live on. But on a brighter note, we may have a new Grumpy cat in town who will take the throne of the world’s angriest kitty. Louis, a 6-year-old Persian cat from Austin, Texas, has already been dubbed the new ‘Grumpy Cat’ by followers on his social media accounts. Although this angry cat’s fanbase is not that big yet – Louis has already amassed more than 3,000 followers while the original Grumpy cat had almost 3 million. But many believe that thanks to his irresistible, permanently-angry face, he’ll be an Internet-famous cat in no time.

A lot of Persians look like this since the flat face look became the norm in the show ring. I'm old enough to remember when even show Persians had noses (not as long ago as you might think) and they looked better and were a lot healthier back then. They didn't have streaming eyes that constantly needed to be wiped, they could breath properly, and there was room for all their teeth.

Is this the norm for Persians now? I was confused because my Nanny had a full Persian years ago and it was nothing like this. I've never liked Persians for their faces but this is ridiculous and cruel.

If you look at some of the Grumpy Cat calenders, some of the pics are definitely of another cat - possibly Tardar's sibling. But even the official merchandise has been using a second 'grumpy'.

It’s a shame what breeders have done to the beautiful Persian. Their noses have all but disappeared. They have problems breathing and their eyes have excessive tearing.
