Guys she's not wrong. It's okay to be chubby and there are different body types. However, some people are painfully obese and that isn't healthy. And it's not due to a sickness or injury but because they are too lazy or don't care. You have to care. You don't have to be stick thin or muscular or meet someone's perfect standards but at least be healthy.

The problem with not "normalizing" obesity is that seems to imply that it is ok to normalize telling people to lose weight. Whatever reason anyone is obese, they live in their bodies every single day. Telling them to lose weight or suggesting any active activity they want to do "is good exercise" isn't going to help. These people know they are overweight, and they know why. Unless they ask for help there's no good reason to tell them what they already know. The better tactic is mind your own business, and treat them like an actual person. Let them come to you if they want help. Otherwise try talking about a topic they enjoy.

Autumn how wrong you are. There are many diseases, Illnesses and medications that can cause obesity. My best friend is the healthiest person I know, she eats extremely well and exercises a LOT, but she is obese due to lymphodema and endometriosis. I have quite a few things that impact my weight and that is my antidepressants, contraception, mobility issues, dietary restrictions, genetics, Obsessive compulsive eating disorder which is a genuine eating disorder just like anorexia is. And more. I shouldn’t have to explain coz it is none of your business but you need educating.

Telling someone to lose weight when they can’t for medical reasons is cruel, damaging and insulting. It’s up to the individual and their DR. You have no idea of the persons situation so just butt out. We aren’t stupid, we know the significant health risks that come with being overweight and obese.

Not everyone is overweight due to lack of exercise or too much drink or food. Some people look overweight but are at a healthy weight for their height or age. People can also have medical conditions that make it impossible to lose wight such as thyroid problems or other diseases/ issues. You should do proper research and watch what you say. It's rude to say that someone is glorifying obesity. Just let people live, it's not your place to police others on how to properly live their lives.

I appreciate what you're saying, but there's a world of difference between the not-skinny that this person is and the morbid obesity that can (but doesn't necessarily) lead to those health problems. Not to mention the number of physically fit people out there who suffer from depression and anxiety over trying to achieve impossible standards and the damage they do to their bodies in the process. I'm not saying you are wrong, just that it's more complicated.

Here the thing, people always sham people for being too overweight, while given praise to people who are severally unweighted.
