Americans Are Making Jokes About The $1,200 Stimulus Checks And Here’s 33 Of The Best Ones
The United States government has sent out stimulus checks to some residents to help keep them afloat during the coronavirus quarantine. It’s all some people are talking about, so it’s no wonder that these checks have become the focus of a lot of jokes on the internet.
The checks are each worth 1,200 dollars and internet users are joking about how they’re already planning to buy TVs, laptops, and spend the money as soon as they can. While others are poking fun at the fact that it’s now the IRS sending them money, instead of the other way around.
“We can confirm that payments are beginning to arrive in some Americans’ accounts," a senior Treasury official told ABC News. Scroll down for the best stimulus check jokes that Bored Panda has compiled, upvote your faves, and let us know in the comments what you’re going to do with your check if you live in the US, dear Pandas. And read on for Bored Panda's interview with financial expert Sam Dogen, founder of the Financial Samurai blog, about stimulus checks and how much they'll help Americans out.

Does the weak Cheeto represent the poor leadership of the Orange Cheeto in the White House?
"So long as Americans are spending the money, that helps stimulate and support the economy. Although saving money is good, saving money actually doesn’t do much in the short run to help the economy. In the long run, maybe it helps by creating more financially secure people to not become a burden," Dogen from the Financial Samurai told us.
"I believe everything is rational. If people want to use their money to spend on TVs and other things, its because they’ve got their basics already taken care of. Here’s how millionaires are spending their checks."
Trump only agreed to the $1200 because it's an election year.
Your "check" comes with tRump's name on it ... just like his "charity" ... he got others to give him money then put his name on the checks like it was his money to give. The only exception with his charity and the stimulus check, he usually paid himself.
Dogen believes that 1,200 dollars per person should help individuals for at least a month. "If you add on the extra 600 dollars a month in unemployment benefits, that’s a decent amount of money," he said.
"For example, in California, you can get 4,200 dollars a month in unemployment benefits now. And then if you add on another 1,200, that’s 5,600 dollars. It’s really the added unemployment benefits that will really help those who have lost their jobs," Dogen pointed out.
I recommend coming to Norway. Here tax authorities help you get a higher tax return. Quite a shock if you paid taxes before in another country...
An American here, I do wish we had something like the Norwegian-style healthcare system instead of our bizarre/horrible system. That being said, in the US the IRS also publishes the info on ways to reduce your tax burden, and you can easily apply that knowledge here when you file online through the websites we have for that, or if you go to a tax preparer. Nobody's hiding info from us on ways we can legally reduce our taxes.

The BBC reports that President Donald Trump’s name will be printed on the paper checks that will be sent out to financially-struggling Americans. This is the very first time that a US president’s name will show up on a federal government handout.
Not surprisingly, some are worried that this decision might delay checks arriving. The president denied that there will be a delay, as did the Treasury Department. However, two senior IRS officials told the Washington Post that the first batch of checks might arrive slower because of this.
"You are getting your money late because the President thinks it is more important that his name be on the cheque than that you are able to pay your bills on time," Democratic Senator Brian Schatz shared his opinion on Twitter.
The stimulus checks are part of a 2 trillion (that’s right, trillion) dollar relief package that will help out more than 80 million US citizens. And Americans need it now more than ever. Around 16 million people lost their jobs in the US just in the past month and the situation may get worse before it gets better.
I'm putting it in savings rather than checking so I don't spend it accidentally. I have a disability claim with Social Security that could take up to a year to be resolved, so I might need it before then.
now they get to tell people "its in the mail" instead of hearing it for years
This would mean, in most cases, that your parent(s) is/are spending way, way, way more than $1200 each year to support you and put you through college.
Many banking apps have a feature that lets you set a notification for any deposits...
Don't get me wrong, I'll damn sure take the money, ( if it ever comes). I'm just wondering where it's coming from and how the government is going to get it back. I'm betting higher taxes on the middle class. It damn sure won't be on corporations or 1%ers.
It'll be a mixture of quantitative easing (printing money) and a bond issue. Yeah, ya'll will be paying it back out of taxes for many, many years. It's certainly not a free lunch.

We're actually projected to have over 61,000 deaths before August. And that's without a second spike brought about by red states acting like idiots.

I simply don't understand why people in America don't riot. There's no way I could survive on only $1200 a month. My mortgage payment alone is more than that. Not that the UK scheme is much better, it is limited to 80% of your salary but it's capped at only £2500 (about $3100) a month.
Please, the American people are too conditioned to be passive. Hell, we just found out that millionaires are getting a stimulus of over $1million each and no one is rioting over that. We get a measly $1200, which in most states won't even cover rent for a month, and millionaires are getting millions more.

I was a landlord when I was 22. Babysat 50 cents per hour. Worked every night after high school. Then I was working 7 days a week and figured out my apartment was too high. My house puts were almost half. Interest rates are much lower now. Save for as big of a deposit as you can. I am not bragging. I lost everything in divorce. Now ex's girlfriend gets my pension because we spent mine. Good luck.

Honestly it annoys me that people are complaining about their stimulus checks, stating it’s not enough. Perhaps so, but there are plenty of people (myself included) who are getting zero help from their own governments and are left to fend for themselves. I lost my job right before the s**t hit the fan, and i’d be f*****g elated if I got even half of that money. And of course it comes from taxes, that’s what taxes are for! I highly doubt you’d find any president/government willing to pay you out of their own pocket. Could the situation be handled better? Most likely, but that still doesn’t take away from the fact that some people are acting like entitled brats right now. Would you have felt better if you got no stimulus checks at all and was left to fend for yourself like many other people in the world?
We literally ARE entitled. Fix your perspective. It’s OUR money they’re handing us. Not a gift. When you put money in the bank, you’re entitled to withdraw it when you need it. The end.

I received my stimulus check. And I've ordered a set of U.S.-made SATIN sheets!
At this point I doubt I'll even get one given the sheer, colossal incompetence the IRS has shown so far. I filed in 2018 through FreeTaxUSA, but owed money. I have a payment plan with the IRS so they withdraw the money each month from my account. But when I type my info into the IRS site, all I get is the same message everyone else is getting, that it can't be processed at this time. I'm typing my info in exactly as it appeared on my return, and the IRS has my bank info as well, so why can't I use the site or get an answer form them?
Hey at least they trying to do something, they could have said "bahahaha sucks to be you!" I'm not looking that gift horse in the mouth.
In Australia you only get the stimulus if you are unemployed, elderly, unemployed and low income sole parent,,veterans. #750 straight up and thier payments per fortnight will just over double until this Crisis is over. Nothing for the low wage Frontline, bugger all for the small business losing everything including thier homes. Chinese factories and drug dealers- the only real benefactors of our stimulus cheques.
These memes are good for entertainment purposes. But if these people truly think like they post, then we have a huge issue on our hand.... Probably bigger than ant Coronavirus situation. That situation is "complete long term dependency"
Do you truly think some of them are gonna get 1,200 tacos?
