Same but then I just call them "sweetie" or something instead. I've had many students over the years and could recognize most even after they left my class, but names are 100% not my thing. Terrible with them.

actually laffed out loud at this. my high school chemistry teacher called me Eric the entire year. I never bothered correcting him, i was the only "Eric" in the class. and no...my name isn't eric...

nods. i have never used 'whistledick,' but i like it. besides just warning folks i'll be asking their names again a few times....i've been known to give individual folks their own individual nicknames. for whatever reason, a name i give them sticks in my head better than the name they actually have. weird, really...
