Being an adult means that there are a lot of things that require our attention, care, and supervision. And making sure that everything is done and provided on time can be really tiring and overwhelming sometimes.

What helps best, in this case, is to zone out from it all for a bit. Having this in mind, one Reddit user asked others to share how they escape their reality. The question that has been upvoted almost 41.5k times received 20.5k comments where people revealed what they like to do to escape their everyday life and “restart” themselves before going back to their endless circle of various affairs.

How do you like to run away from reality? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments down below!

I would love to do that. Off-grid and totally self-sufficient. It would be challenging to set up but so worth it in the end.

I've been living this for almost a year now in some respect. Rural, limited neighbors that I can't really see, wildlife, fostering cats, taking a pottery class. No drama, no overbearing family, and the traffic is a dream

I'm drawing floorplans for rural cottages, plan what to grow in the gardens and what animals to keep, even though I know I will never do it in reality. Most important is that I don't want to see or hear the neighbours.

This is honestly very interesting. I would think you'd have to pick your dog carefully, depending on what kind of escape you wanted. A Border Collie, so energetic and intelligent, could exhaust you if you needed to sleep maybe - herding all those sheep! As a Bloodhound you could go on a searching adventure, or beautiful red Irish Setter, or Labrador could walk the green hills for hours.

I pray every day. I think in detail about the people I love and situations I know of and I pray for them. If someone is so down and hurting that their anger would make them get angry with others praying, I would pray for them as well. Prayer is not judging, prayer is loving. Prayer is saying, please Take good care of someone I love.

A Person In This Online Group Was Curious To Know What Others Do To Escape Reality, Here Are 30 Of The Best Answers I am a flight simulator hobbyist, and I escape by delving into the simulator. For over 10 years now, when life gets to me, I make an escape by perfecting my flight sim world, not much unlike a model train enthusiast creates dioramas in their basement. Aircraft modelling, sound engineering, environment textures such as the sky, ground, water, and trees, buildings, airport details, there's always something to tweak and work on and improve to make actually using the simulator for simulating just a bit more fun and realistic! But my favorite part of it all is AI traffic. Myself and a team of other enthusiasts have worked for years now to "back-date" the AI traffic in flight sim with schedules and aircraft going from the late 90s and early 00s all the way back to the 30s in some instances. We can choose what year we want to fly, and with a week or two of work on installing schedules, we can fly in that year in our flight sim. Currently my project has been 1998, and this has been so incredibly rewarding! I live by and love my flight sim. It has always been there for me when life is too much and continues to be there for me when I have free time. Nothing else like it on this planet 🙂

How criminal is it? Would you be arrested or only fined? Does there seem to be any chance of decriminalizing it? Because if the answer to the last question is yes, you’re then in charge of your own fate and many, many, many others will be grateful.

It's pretty cool tbh.

Yeah, if you have PTSD tho, you might struggle to turn it off; opposite end of the fun spectrum! Often they are lucid nightmares. You never realize you're asleep, remember everything, and wake up exhausted!

Correct me if I am wrong but I think the whole point of LUCID dreaming is that you do, in fact, realise that you are sleeping and inside a dream because only then you can start to influence what's happening...

Usually to fall asleep I imagine a scene in my head, whatever I want, though I'm not sure they count as dreams. When I do lucid dream though, it's not on purpose and it feels soooo real.

Quiet your mind, calm your body, and meditate while you sink into the weightless and peaceful embrace of Mother Ocean. Plus you can get super close to all of your gilled friends. Or rock climbing (real climbing outside), similar concept but not quite as immersive.

It's hard to describe but 'something' happened in the world of television and filmmaking during the mid-late 1980s. There's a strong break in style that occurred, leaving everything that happened before being "old" and everything since being "modern," and people seem to like either modern stuff or old stuff. I'm one of those people who doesn't need TOS to appreciate the rest of it.
