Benny Blanco showed his love for his fiancée Selena Gomez with a very cheesy gift — literally. Because yup, he got her an entire bathtub full of queso.

On Instagram, the musician shared a video of a trail of chips on the floor, leading to the grand bathroom. Right beside the shower, it spelled “I ❤ ️you,” and the camera later panned to the tub, revealing a lifetime supply’s worth of cheese, as well as a white plate of even more chips. 

The track Scared Of Loving You by the two lovebirds played in the background with Blanco’s cheeky caption, “when your fiancé isn’t much of a flowers girl.”

Maybe Gomez just really loves queso and chips. Maybe it’s an inside joke between the two, especially considering they got engaged over Taco Bell. But every post on social media is subject to judgemental eyes — and let’s just say fans certainly judged with this one. 

“I love you both but that’s kinda gross 🤮,” read the top comment with more than 6,000 likes.

“There are children starving in Gaza and all around the world,” said one person. “What a waste.”

A third wrote, “That’s gross, sorry.. love the thought but yuck.”

“How wasteful,” someone stated. “That’s f–cking disgusting. In the bathroom too of all places.”

“I feel bad for the person who has to clean or drain that all up,” thought a netizen.

“When your fiancé is crying online not knowing how to help people / refugees and then you go and show an explicit display of wastage of food 🤣🤣🤣the hypocrisy,” said a user, referring to the time Gomez was crying on Instagram Live due to President Donald Trump’s campaign promise of targeting undocumented immigrants in the United States with mass deportations.

One other person wrote, “Nothing says ‘we have too much money’ than ruining your master bathroom tub for a Valentines day social media post.”

A few others did come to Blanco’s defense, however, saying people were blowing it way out of proportion.

“I went to an all girl’s school,” someone shared. “I’ve seen girl’s [sic] do some disgusting things and that’s why I’m laughing at every woman that is calling this gross. You’ve licked and swallowed worse Jennifer. This is okay.”

“It’s the thought that counts?!? 🤔I suppose when you can afford to spend 10k on cheese and nachos and another 5k for someone to clean it or even 50k for a new tub all together, I’d probably have laughed hysterically before grabbing his hand and jumping in it! 🤣💯live life baby! ❤️” another said.

Gomez and Blanco were recently engaged, but the two have never been shy sharing their love for one another on social media and with the press. 

According to Elle, the Wolves singer and the Virginia native go way back. Blanco produced Gomez’s 2015 Revival songs ‘Same Old Love’ and ‘Kill ‘Em With Kindness,’ as well as her 2017 collaboration with Cashmere Cat ‘Trust Nobody.’

In March 2019, they released their collaboration ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ with J Balvin and Tainy.

More than three years later, on December 7, 2023, Gomez first made it known that she was seeing someone. Later on, she shared a photo on her Instagram story of what appeared to be her and Blanco together and then confirmed that she and Blanco had been dating privately for six months. 

The two made many public appearances together since then, until of course, their forever began on December 11, 2024, when they got engaged.
