50 People Who’ve Hit New Levels Of Cringe And Got Posted In The ‘Cringetopia’ Online Group (New Pics)
InterviewTrust me, cringe is addictive. Once you cringe over [insert a wish-wash subject of debate] or the anti-vaxxers and get that sweet aftertaste from the sheer absurdity, you want a second hit. ‘Cause cringe is real and everyone loves it, from me, you, to 1.2 million members of the “Cringetopia” subreddit.
And there’s an infinite source of things to recoil from in laughter and embarrassment because the world, like the people in it, and like the subreddit itself, is colorful. As the community’s description says: “In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god's blessing. But because I am enlightened by my intelligence.” You may even get a philosophical drift on your way to the cringe journey.
So get ready to swim in the ocean of biased opinions, naive beliefs, less than logical statements, and anything in between. Be sure to upvote the cringiest posts down below and check out part 1 of this post.

To find out more about this insanely popular community, Bored Panda reached out to the “Cringetopia” subreddit's moderator Fjallmadur, who was happy to share some insights.
“We started this subreddit to break away from the politics and hate that CringeAnarchy was becoming saturated with. /u/IAmMrPositive founded this subreddit and brought along me and a few other CringeAnarchy moderators who were tired of the mess that place had become,” the moderator recalled.
Fjallmadur added: “He basically made it a full-time job promoting this place in relevant subreddits and building this community from the ground up while telling people that this subreddit was going to be a place for everyone to come together, put politics aside, and just cringe at the people doing really weird and awkward stuff that they post online.” Today, it has turned into the one of the most regularly active subreddits on the entire site.

Do people not realise that “skin” is literally the wrapping paper of your body. It’s nothing more than that. The pigmentation was decided by evolution as it it light or dark depending on what side of the world your ancestors lived given hotter countries have people with darker skin so the sun can’t burn them. Likewise colder countries people have lighter skin as the sun isn’t there often
Until people stop obsessing over skin color unfortunately no
Load More Replies...I suspect that the 'porcelain empress' may have racist reasons for opposing inter-racial adoption, but there are some things to be aware of. First, if you are going to adopt a kid from a different culture/race, you need to preserve their connection to their culture of origin and prepare for them to have different needs. For a very basic example, a black child is likely to have much curlier hair than a white person is used to dealing with, so their parents will have to learn how to take care of it properly. The child may also have to deal with racism on an axis their parents don't have to. The parents should be prepared to support and protect their child when this happens. There's also cases of unscrupulous international adoption agencies taking children out of foster care (some of these children have loving parents who cannot take care of them at this time, and plan to take them out of care once they're back on their feet). It's not as simple as draumbouy makes it out to be.
Reminds me of a Slovak politician who wrote "why should gays adopt our children?" Why are your children in the system, Mr. Matovič then? He is a giant k******d.
Ughhhhhh I hate that so many people are against transracial adoption. It's true that when a white family adopts children of color, it is especially important for them to understand their white privilege first and to work really hard to understand the experiences of people who are not white, but that is no reason to NOT adopt children that need a loving home.
Yeah this is dumb. I have two black sisters and they're fine (except for being my sisters, if course 😜)
I'm about done with racism. We're all the same, we can all live together. People need to get the sticks out if their butts and move on.
You can say that we're all the same - physically, but certainly not psychologically and morally.
Load More Replies...I actually suspect that most black people wouldnt adopt a non black kid.
Load More Replies...If you asked the child(ren) adopted by people of a different race, I think you’d find they really could care less about the skin color of their parent(s). Even the kids too young to talk will strongly indicate, by their actions and body language, the same thing. And yes, you read that right, I said parent(s), the people who love them and are raising them to be good people, instead of letting them potentially suffer in multiple foster homes (some may be great, but there’s also a risk they won’t be), or with the parents who couldn’t—-or wouldn’t—-take care of them.
We’re all different shades of brown, so shut up and let children live happy lives
If white people didn't adopt non-white kids, there'd be a lot more kids without families. I once heard a black adoption agent say that black couples have turned down black children because their skin was "too dark" and wouldn't look good in family photos.
Well there is a worrying ammount of black people that seems to really hate whites and finds excuses to insult us all the time. Like a coworker from my partner that is open about how "white women are ok to f**k but you need to marry a black one to keep the race". Its disgusting.
Load More Replies...All of humanity comes from black people. Africa is the birthplace of humanity.
Ideally it should not matter. In most cases it can be overcome, no pun intended. A few malcontents may place culture over a loving home with room, food, and care.
This is a very American problem. Why are you so obsessed with skin colour? You bore me!
Okey so it is better for a kid to not having parents than have parents with a diffrent skin tone? WTH is wrong with this person?!? I would not be surprised if he also believe that it is better for a kid to have no parents than having 2 mommy s/daddy's. Also if they have the same skin color as the child. Man, if I had to give away my kid for some reason, i would not even think about skin color to the adoptive parents. As long as the kid getting adopted by a loving family who are kind, understanding, supportive, make sure the kid have everything needed, that is what matters. If he mean something else he have problems for real.
A loving family is better than no family at all. A loving family takes no notice of race or colour, unless it is sunburn.
My doctor in the hospital was of East Indian descent. I asked if he was born in the U.S. or moved here. He moved here when he was 10 with the missionary family who adopted him. He had lived on the streets since his father died when he was six. I asked what the hardest part was about coming to the U.S. He said, "People who judge with no context." Blew my mind.
It's easy to sink when you don't know up from down or you'r butt from a hole in the ground.
so, once again we talk about colored and not colored people... but REALLY skin color does matter? if a "caucasian" remain at sea on boats for work a lot of years, and his tan become VERY dark, he's colored? a different "species"? ahh, what a shame all these years wasted talking about it...
Agree with all of this! White parents should try their best to teach poc about their culture
Load More Replies...Okay! Can I have a full explanation of how 1) adopting a abandoned child is "splitting up a family" and 2) how this is a war tactic. What about black people who adopt white or asian or hispanic children? Is it a war tactic then?
Load More Replies...There are some challenges that can present when families have children of different races than the parents, but that doesn't mean that the adoptions shouldn't happen.

When asked what the term “Cringetopia” refers to, the moderator explained that it’s exactly what it looks like, “an amalgamation of the words 'cringe' and 'utopia.'” Moreover, “It's a place where any cringe that doesn't break our relatively lax community rules or Reddit sitewide rules is allowed.”
The moderator of the community sees cringe as inherently subjective. “What makes one person cringe, another person may think is entirely normal,” he said and continued that “My take on it is that we've all done stupid stuff that we look back on and cringe about, and looking at these people is a good way to relive that feeling, even if it's not the exact situation that we've been in ourselves.”

Fjallmadur also added that “we laugh at those folks, feel second-hand embarrassment over what we see, and share it with others, but I think that it's ultimately a way for us to empathize with the people who are being featured on this subreddit.”
And although there are “some bad apples in the bunch,” according to the moderator, “we're not about bullying or spreading hate at all; it's all just for entertainment and understanding other people at the end of the day.”
Turns out, the subreddit has a bit of a bad rep from other communities because “they feel like we're bullying people,” but Fjallmadur stressed the fact that their community is exactly the opposite. “Our community is all-inclusive, as you can see from our wonderful mod team, and I feel like we do a pretty good job as a whole to enjoy the light-hearted picking while avoiding actually hurting anyone,” they concluded.

The Baby Would Rather Be Deaf
I take issue with the idea of a baby's consent here. All decisions for a baby is against their knowledge and consent. No one consents to being born. That's not problematic, that's literally how babies work. If a toddler says they don't want to change diapers ever again, letting them decide that would be abuse. Just take care of babies and don't scar them and they'll be fine. Consent is a super important topic but it really means something else when it comes to babies.

Random thought: what happened to Krazy Kanuck? Haven't seen him comment for a while.
Or OGs like Hans, John L., etc if you go that far back. I still see a lot of our "popular" pandas out and about occasionally, but their comments are much less frequent. Part of it is probably just changes in their lives, but I feel like the more frequent argumentative/clickbait-y type posts have been large factors. I think in its' golden age BP was 99% pet/animal lists, comics, and art, which meant people had more opportunity to make funny and entertaining comments, but more recently it's been getting bogged down by political content and more "bad" stuff (eg more posts like "50 times people experienced evil neighbors" vs feel good stuff like "50 times strangers helped people"). Also a lot more beauty content, which isn't necessarily bad, but causes a lot of negativity for people with discussions about upsetting beauty standards. I find it kinda sad really, because our pandas are getting into more debates in the comments and we've lost a lot of the unity and good vibes :(
