50 People Who’ve Hit New Levels Of Cringe And Got Posted In The ‘Cringetopia’ Online Group (New Pics)
InterviewTrust me, cringe is addictive. Once you cringe over [insert a wish-wash subject of debate] or the anti-vaxxers and get that sweet aftertaste from the sheer absurdity, you want a second hit. ‘Cause cringe is real and everyone loves it, from me, you, to 1.2 million members of the “Cringetopia” subreddit.
And there’s an infinite source of things to recoil from in laughter and embarrassment because the world, like the people in it, and like the subreddit itself, is colorful. As the community’s description says: “In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god's blessing. But because I am enlightened by my intelligence.” You may even get a philosophical drift on your way to the cringe journey.
So get ready to swim in the ocean of biased opinions, naive beliefs, less than logical statements, and anything in between. Be sure to upvote the cringiest posts down below and check out part 1 of this post.

Gatekeeping... A Language?
To find out more about this insanely popular community, Bored Panda reached out to the “Cringetopia” subreddit's moderator Fjallmadur, who was happy to share some insights.
“We started this subreddit to break away from the politics and hate that CringeAnarchy was becoming saturated with. /u/IAmMrPositive founded this subreddit and brought along me and a few other CringeAnarchy moderators who were tired of the mess that place had become,” the moderator recalled.
Fjallmadur added: “He basically made it a full-time job promoting this place in relevant subreddits and building this community from the ground up while telling people that this subreddit was going to be a place for everyone to come together, put politics aside, and just cringe at the people doing really weird and awkward stuff that they post online.” Today, it has turned into the one of the most regularly active subreddits on the entire site.

Do people not realise that “skin” is literally the wrapping paper of your body. It’s nothing more than that. The pigmentation was decided by evolution as it it light or dark depending on what side of the world your ancestors lived given hotter countries have people with darker skin so the sun can’t burn them. Likewise colder countries people have lighter skin as the sun isn’t there often
Face Of Unemployment
When asked what the term “Cringetopia” refers to, the moderator explained that it’s exactly what it looks like, “an amalgamation of the words 'cringe' and 'utopia.'” Moreover, “It's a place where any cringe that doesn't break our relatively lax community rules or Reddit sitewide rules is allowed.”
The moderator of the community sees cringe as inherently subjective. “What makes one person cringe, another person may think is entirely normal,” he said and continued that “My take on it is that we've all done stupid stuff that we look back on and cringe about, and looking at these people is a good way to relive that feeling, even if it's not the exact situation that we've been in ourselves.”

Fjallmadur also added that “we laugh at those folks, feel second-hand embarrassment over what we see, and share it with others, but I think that it's ultimately a way for us to empathize with the people who are being featured on this subreddit.”
And although there are “some bad apples in the bunch,” according to the moderator, “we're not about bullying or spreading hate at all; it's all just for entertainment and understanding other people at the end of the day.”
Turns out, the subreddit has a bit of a bad rep from other communities because “they feel like we're bullying people,” but Fjallmadur stressed the fact that their community is exactly the opposite. “Our community is all-inclusive, as you can see from our wonderful mod team, and I feel like we do a pretty good job as a whole to enjoy the light-hearted picking while avoiding actually hurting anyone,” they concluded.

Do they need the doctor's appointment after picking up that tear gas canister?
Millennials will drink one can of Red Bull, not wake up until 4pm, punch a racist in the face, write a sitcom about their mental health, and pick that tear gas canister up, then throw a grenade in reply. We will however also get nervous calling our doctors, because we may find out we're going to be parents to Gen Z kids.
Millennials - 1981-1996, Gen Z - 1997-2012. Not all millennials will have Gen Z kids.
Load More Replies...i hope yall dont argue about how either gn z or millenials are better, its useless, there will allways be assholes who think their generation is better than others and its dumb.
Stupidity doesn't have a generation. It is anywhere and everywhere.
Load More Replies...And I, as a gen x, just watch and smile as I walk by all the gen z, millennials, and the older generation fight. (Gotta live up to the "slacker generation" title.)
We'er the middle children of history. People forget we exist.
Load More Replies...Considering just how much of their entry level salary that doctor’s appointment could end up costing them, when all is said and done, I would say the nervousness is both warranted and appropriate.
Why are we even dividing generations? It's so stupid, not all people that were born in that strand of years fit those stupid descriptions
"Not all men ..." ;-) (but I absolutely agree with you, this generation-generalization is bullshit)
Load More Replies...Gen Z, masters of humble bragging about how good they are while simultaneously demonstrating exactly why they aren't. Also, grow a pair. Your Mom's shouldn't be doing that for you at 22.
Note to Gen Z - turn canister nozzle away from self BEFORE discharging. YW.
Well, yea, I get terrified when going through the check out or just interacting with humans I don’t know,, but I skip lunch, abuse a homophobe, racist or transphobic in my mind (I’m not a huge fan of conflict even online) crack jokes about the living h&ll where in. I’ve never seen a tear gas canister tho
Every generation has been weird about making their own appointments at first. It's weird. I remember not wanting to do it.
I suspect that unless they are training in a police academy 99.99 percent of Generation Z have never seen a tear gas canister.
I used to practice what I'd say before calling. I still procrastinate. I was super shy when young. But by doing those things I found hard I'm no longer shy.
As a gen z this is accurate, a lot of people other generations dont like gen z's because they are todays teenagers but please remember we where raised by you. All out choices are based off of a world YOU GUYS created. Plus we are kids who got out teenage years ruined by the internet and covid-19 so have some decency, this person was trying to be relatable. Not grab attention.
Everything you just said was said by Millennials, and GenX, and Boomers, and on and on aaaallllllll the way back to the beginning of time. Hating on the young generation is as predictable as the cycles of the moon.

She's not lying. My daughter calls me and ask if I could make a doctor's appointment for her and I tell her no. Then she does it and realizes it ain't so bad and easy to do.
Honestly, if that's all they do, that'd be fine. I'd be a bit nervous about the mental health issues, but otherwise _ could be much worse. At least they WANT to be woke and treat people well. It might go a bit weirdly in some ways, but the intentions behind it are generally to be approved

The Baby Would Rather Be Deaf
I take issue with the idea of a baby's consent here. All decisions for a baby is against their knowledge and consent. No one consents to being born. That's not problematic, that's literally how babies work. If a toddler says they don't want to change diapers ever again, letting them decide that would be abuse. Just take care of babies and don't scar them and they'll be fine. Consent is a super important topic but it really means something else when it comes to babies.

Random thought: what happened to Krazy Kanuck? Haven't seen him comment for a while.
Or OGs like Hans, John L., etc if you go that far back. I still see a lot of our "popular" pandas out and about occasionally, but their comments are much less frequent. Part of it is probably just changes in their lives, but I feel like the more frequent argumentative/clickbait-y type posts have been large factors. I think in its' golden age BP was 99% pet/animal lists, comics, and art, which meant people had more opportunity to make funny and entertaining comments, but more recently it's been getting bogged down by political content and more "bad" stuff (eg more posts like "50 times people experienced evil neighbors" vs feel good stuff like "50 times strangers helped people"). Also a lot more beauty content, which isn't necessarily bad, but causes a lot of negativity for people with discussions about upsetting beauty standards. I find it kinda sad really, because our pandas are getting into more debates in the comments and we've lost a lot of the unity and good vibes :(
