I remember reading about this on the Leicester live site. Support workers used to be provided by the NHS but due to so many cuts over the years they are provided by private companies now with some of them undertaking little to no vetting of their staff. My daughter has six hours of support a week and luckily the company her support workers come from is very good at weeding out the bad apples, all main carers (like me) have a direct line to the boss to report any concerns.

I teach in the Health & Social Care Sector in the UK. I train/teach care workers, nurses, social workers etc 99% care workers are amazing people who do so much more than just 'care' Unfortunately the 1% bad care workers out there (and the media exposing them) have tarnished the reputation for all. It is heartbreaking to see this - I remember the news articles at the time - and this lady has been barred from working with vulnerable people though our DBS system.

I HAVE NO WORDS- this is so f*****g s****y. ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh. I hope the guy is okay and the person taking the picture steps in, reports the woman, and makes sure the man is alright

I am a social worker, working with people with mental handicap, autism and violent behavior, in Switzerland; this is clearly a point for being f-ing fired and be forbidden to work with vulnerable people after. Sick. (Sorry for the potential mistakes, English ain’t my mother tongue)

I would be so mad at seeing this that I would have followed this piece of s**t back to the care home, asked to see the person in charge and showed this picture to them. Only showed it, mind you, so that they could react accordingly. The actual photo I would pass on to the local press, along with the name of the care home for good measure.
