Here Are 40 Incidents From People’s Past That Were So Bitter That They Remember It To This Day
Some of the things that happened in the past have no chance of leaving people’s heads. No matter how small or how big they were, the dent that was left in one's feelings turned out to be deep and persistent. Little did Reddit user xefarar565 know, firing off ‘What are you STILL salty about?’ would open a can of worms for so many readers of AskReddit.
People who shared the stories have been successfully holding onto the bitter taste of things that happened sometimes a pretty ridiculous amount of time ago. However, despite the duration of disappointment and heavy feelings, some of the stories are hilarious and will make you think about how the human mind functions when it comes to retaining certain experiences and how they made one feel.

In elementary school, there was a pencil machine in the front lobby where you could get pencils for 25 cents. There were also "special" pencils that had stars on them. If you got one of these special pencils, you could take it into the office and get a prize.
One day, I decided to get a pencil. I put in my quarter and out popped TWO pencils. And one of them was a special pencil! I went into the office and told the lady at the desk that the machine gave me two pencils and one of them was special. She proceeded to say that the machine shouldn't do that, took the special pencil, and didn't give me a prize. That was 19 years ago and I'm still pissed.
The question in second grade math: "Joe read two-fifths of his book and Sue read one quarter of her book. Who read more pages?"
"It depends on how big their books are" is absolutely the correct answer and shouldn't have been marked wrong. And you fu***** know it, don't you, Mrs. Kay? Don't you?!
In a 5th grade science test the question was, "Are there any stars in the solar system."
I answered, "Yes".
Teacher marked it wrong.
I went up afterwards and said, "What about the Sun?"
He said, he meant that all the other stars are not in our solar system and kept it marked wrong.
Although I am harboring this for 50 years now, he was all-around one of the best teachers I ever had and just passed away a week or so ago.
But damn, that should have been marked "right".
Kindergarten. Playing with a kid in the sandbox, was a fairly drizzly day. We're making a castle and there's a puddle a few feet from us. He wants to dig a moat around the castle, and I say sure.
So he just kinda jams his hand in the dirt and starts pulling, making way too huge of a channel, which he immediately realizes is going to just destroy our castle. So I say "quick build a dam to stop the water!"
He freezes. Stares at me with wide eyes and mouth agape before running off. I think this is strange but ok whatever I saved the castle so I go back to digging when the teacher runs up and grabs me and says to go to time out, to which I obviously protest and say no wtf I didn't do anything. She then immediately says she knows I said a bad word and to not try and lie, to which I am again confused and say I did not.
After a few back and forths of her trying to pull me away by the arm and me rather violently resisting, it occurs to her to actually ask what happened. I explain the story. I still remember her face kinda dropping, realizing the other little s*** thought I said "damn" instead of "dam" and then immediately ratting on me. Tries to say well maybe use a different word to which I again vehemently protest against because no that is the correct word for such a situation and that's just how it works and it's his fault for not knowing the word, etc, etc, until she finally gives in and explains to the kid that I did not swear, and that no one likes tattletales.
I am in my 30s and on the other side of the country and I STILL remember this as the very instance in which I gazed upon my fellow man and wept, for he is stupid.
When my son was in Cub Scouts and it was our first time going to the Pinewood Derby.
My son worked hard on his car and for a 7 year old, it was decent. We show up and not a single kid built those cars, it was pretty much a “dad competition”. My son came in dead last and I was sad for him because his friends literally said that their dads all built their cars.
So for the next 4 years my son picked the design and color scheme, and I built them while at work. We went on a 4 year win streak in the local, district and regional derby’s.
The look of anguish on those fathers faces was worth it.
Sorry, end of rant.
My sister got a brand new car for her 16th birthday...I got $20.
When I turned 21, my parents asked what I wanted for my gift. I wanted a nice set of crystal glasses, just like my Mum had. I didn't realise they only cost $20. When my sister turned 21, she wanted a double wooden bookcase, that cost round $1000. After my parents brought her the bookcase, they gave me $980 cash.
My mother called me selfish one year for not attending the surprise birthday party she was throwing for my sister. We have the same birthday, 8 years apart. And I'm the younger one.
My mother-in-law would constantly do this to the kids at Christmas. Used to spend hundreds of dollars on expensive toys for the biological grandkids, and would give her adopted grandson cheap gifts that seemed like an afterthought. Seemed like, "well, I guess I have to buy him SOMETHING." I'm so glad we cut her out of our lives before she could start roping our son into that favouritism game of hers.
As someone who is married to someone who is adopted and has step kids this absolutely breaks my heart. That child needs more love and affection than the children who were born into the family.
Load More Replies...Me too. I'm the oldest. Expected to plan everything but nobody does anything for me. It's bogus!
Load More Replies...my sister got a new car and i got... nothing. she also had her car insurance paid for, sent to DC on a special trip, and was offered to be put through college. i had to beg $250 off my dad to fix my car and i had to pay him back.
I'm in the middle of six. My five brothers all got cars for their 18th birthdays. I got a second hand signet ring with somebody else's initials on. And that kind of sums up my life.
In my home country, turning 21 is a huge deal. My older sister was given a HUGE catered party, 200+ people PLUS my parents bought her MY dream car for some obscure reason. A few years later when my 21st was approaching I asked my parents what their plans were, knowing full well that, as the clichéd ignored middle child I was getting a big ole heap of nothin'. I took the high road though and told them a family dinner at a five star restaurant would be fine for me. One condition: I was the only one who was allowed to order the lobster and was not required to share :)....ok *maybe* I took the slightly less-high road hehe
My brother graduated on Friday from high school. I graduated the next day from college. Big party for my brother followed by a big fight between my parents because, well Dad was worn out from my brother's party and he didn't want to drive 4 hours to see his eldest graduate from college.
My sister gets amazing gifts at Christmas - designer clothes, silk scarves from Paris, etc, and I get tins of cat food and cat toys bc I have a cat
My sister was given a friend's DS (white) while I had to pay the same friend's sister for her DS (pink). I payed for for mine before she was given hers, but I still thought it totally unfair. Also I didn't like pink with a passion back then and she wouldn't trade with me. Sisters man.
Brothers can be the same way. And why a hatred of pink? There's nothing wrong with the color.
Load More Replies...I wasn’t allowed to have a nintendo switch until I was 9. My little brothers got one when they were 5 and 4.
Could be worse. There was a case where a boy committed suicide with a gun his parents gave him. They then gave the same gun to the other son that Christmas. True story, unfortunately.
Reminds me of my uncle. he gave my wee brother money for his birthday(plus money everytime they met) and gave my two older brothers money and watches for their birthday, the most he's ever given me was a sweet one day when I was in the hospital.
Friend had a father didn't like him much, and the poor guy didn't find that out until after his mother died and the father completely cut him off. Dad was apparently only faking it for years when the mother was alive, showed his real colors after she was gone. Broke the guy's heart, he had no idea, had even remodeled his home so dad could come live with them.
thats what my parents treat me like (I would be the $20 kid)
My father only gave me $20 for a birthday/Easter/graduation present. He gives his fiance and my baby half sister anything and everything they ask for but me and my older siblings? It's like pulling teeth. Also he kept all the money that was from the stimulus check for us kids to put towards his upcoming wedding
Yeah, I relate to this one. I'm the oldest FYI, and I wasn't allowed to drive the 10 year old Toyota, but my brother got a 68 Mustang for his 16th. (I'd moved out by then). He was the only boy & pretty much could do no wrong in my Fathers eyes. I couldn't get a $10 advance on my allowance, but he talked my Dad out of $120 for ski boot bindings. In San Diego. In JULY. Did I mention that I was an honor student and he'd been expelled from 2 different schools? I don't hold it against my brother, though. He was always really cool about sharing the spoils. Dad's gone now, but I still get a little sting whenever I think of how blatant the favoritism was.
For a gift I was given a record player which I was told I had to share with the whole family, (so I didn't feel it was 'mine' at all ), and then for HER birthday, my sister got her own record player... still hurts so many years later. I have tried to be fair with my own children.
When I got married my mum made sandwiches and my Dad gave me £5 ( it was in 1959) my sister got married 3 years later and had a big church wedding, Top hat and Tails and a big reception. we both re married some years later, this time I was given a frying pan and my sister got a big Kenwood super mixer.
My older sister got an apartment in the center of the city after graduating highschool. I got a PC. Same parents..
I got a $20 gift card for Golden Corral for my High School graduation
i can relate so much to this one. my parents tolds us when we wouldnt smoke until 18 and after when you would smoke later on you ave to pay back ,they would pay for our drivers license including lessons (its quite expensive in the nteherlands) . so when my brother turned 18 he smoked in secret but moma knew it but still he got his drivers license i didnt smoke at all but i had to pay it for my self afterward they said i choose the wrong driving school so it was my own fault they wouldnt pay me back. (and side note they also bought my brothers licnese to drive a truck i did pay my own beauty school (although i dropped out later)
and dont forget my dad knew about his smoking to befor his license fo a truck driver
Load More Replies...One of our daughters got a used car for her 18th birthday-- which she asked for. Apparently the younger daughter (who got other things, like a horse) is pissed that she didn't. She didn't ask for a car, she didn't have a license, or even want to learn how to drive. Sometimes it's exhausting to try to keep the "score" even.
My older sister always got the best of everything. She was my dad's favorite. I got only what was adequate and if I complained was told by my dad 'I never had anything like the things you get, when I was your age." When I would point out that my sister always got exactly what she wants I was told to be more like my sister. There was no way I could win. But it did make me stronger in life and made me persevere for the life I wanted. Now my sister hates her life because she never learned to grab life by the reins.
I asked for pillow cases one Christmas. My younger sister {43 years old} got three days on the beach in Destin. Same sister in 1977 - parents always told older brother and me we will be buying our own cars when we get one. I got $100 towards the down payment. Little sister gets license - parents get her a car.
When my younger brother turned 16, my parents made me share the car they got me. Not a big deal except he was constantly getting into accidents and trashing the car. One time he hit a parked car hard enough to tear the entire front end off our car. My parents punished him by buying him a new car while I continued driving the one he wrecked.
Unfair, unless there's reasons for that. For example, if the parents are paying for the poster's education and the sister will go to a community-college, I'd say that equals things out. But yes, 20$ vs car is a very big difference that's really hard to explain
My twin sister got a $20k wedding from my parents. When I asked about them paying for my wedding they said they didn't think I'd get married do they used my share on my sister's.
I had a "learning" trip to Australia for my graduation and my brother got a bike (a nice one) for his, but when i had my gift my father gave the same amount of money to my brother to avoid such things. But still my brother is an Ahole so it didn't worked well.
Are siblings who are getting the good stuff, younger and/or of the opposite sex? Most replies of similar experiences aren't mentioning their sex or age. Out of all I've read only one specifically mentions an older sibling. This is pertinent info. In my experience/observations of such situations, it is typically younger, female siblings who are beneficiaries of unequal parental largess.
Maybe they were telling her to leave home, and telling you to stay. I would take it as a compliment.
Yeah right. What kind of car? Maybe when you're old enough to drive you will get one
Something tells me there's more to this story. That discrepancy is too large.
I was probably 5 years old visiting my mom at the hospital after she gave birth to my brother and she was given food on a tray which she didn’t want so she gave it to me. I put the tray on the table and as I was eating, the nurse takes the tray away from me and throws away the food. That may have my first true instance of anger in my life. I’m 27 now and I’m pissed as I’m writing this haha.
That is totally wrong. Why throw it away when the kid can just eat it instead of wasting it?
I'm 35 now. When I was 14 or 15, my mom stormed into my room one evening and accused me of smashing a glass and getting rid of the evidence. It was one of these retro coke glasses. I swore I didn't break any glass – and if I did, why would I hide such a small accident? But my mom didn't believe me. She was so mad and accused me of lying. She wouldn't even say why I was her prime suspect. Somehow it just had to be me. Anyway, I got into trouble for it even without any evidence. Some time later it turned out no glass was actually smashed. My mom thought the glasses she bought came in fours. But our neighbor bought the same set and there were actually three glasses in it. My mom acknowledged the fact but never apologized to me for how she screamed at me or how she accused me out of the blue. She just never mentioned it again. I'm still mad about it.
Some friends from work planned a get together at a local chain restaurant for my birthday. One of my coworkers found out and decided it should also be to celebrate her birthday because it’s the day before mine. Already annoyed, but whatever. The night of the dinner, a friend bought us both slices of cheesecake & they were presented with candles, and everyone sang happy birthday. At the end, she blew out her candle AND THEN MINE. AND LAUGHED ABOUT IT. It was MY candle. You were barely invited. I’ve never forgotten about it.
My mom decided that she didn't want Christmas presents one year and made sure to tell us (me and my two brothers). I suggested to her instead that we donate what we would have spent to charity in her name. She said she was fine with that if that's what we wanted to do. So that's what I did. I sent her a nice little card and the info for the charities I donated to, so she could see that her decision helped some good organizations out.
Mom. Was. Pissed.
"Why didn't you just send me a gift card of you weren't gonna buy me anything! You ruined Christmas!" Now, I love my mom. By that point we had a total of one really nasty fight, and that was several years before. She was fine growing up. She was fine most of my adulthood except for a suicide attempt that I got to call the ambulance for from the other side of the country (loooong story). I'm accustomed to buying my mom decent, thoughtful presents. So when she accused me of ruining Christmas for her, I was distraught. I sent her a screen cap of the conversation we had and circled where she said she'd be fine with my decision to donate in her name. Her response? "I don't remember that. I deleted those texts."
I lost my s***, told her it's her own fault for raising me to do as I'm told, and next time just don't say s*** if she's gonna change her mind and not tell us. And then we didn't speak for three months. This was two and a half years ago and I have not gotten over it.
3 months ago I went on maternity leave. The woman hired to cover for me was being paid 3 dollars more than I'm currently paid. She was going to be kept on as a full time accounting assistant after I returned, but she couldn't keep up with my daily tasks and completely fu**** up several databases that I had to correct when I returned to work the following month. When I asked for a raise, they offered me .50 after telling me how crucial I am to the structure of the company.
Needless to say, I'm looking for a new job.
In fourth grade English class (EU) I've used the word "gross" in a random sentence we had to write. The teacher argued that it isn't a real word, I said that it is, that I saw it a few times in video games and movies and she said that they aren't a reliable source. I said to her that I'm gonna show it in the dictionary, but she instead grabbed me by the arm and took me out of the classroom and locked the door.
To this day I am still fuming about this. And then she had the nerve to be all chummy when I met her once in a supermarket. Gross.
The fact that I spelled "mayonnaise" correctly in my fourth grade class spelling bee, but the teacher claimed I didn't and dismissed me. I had won in the third grade, and proceeded to win in the fifth and sixth grades as well. The unfair disqualification in fourth grade ruined what would have been a four year streak.
My parents objected to my sister marrying the guy who is now her husband. They treated her badly, and showed up in a sour mood to her wedding. They never apologized for their bad behavior. My sister and her husband have been married for 8 years.
Parents, if your adult daughter wants to do something you disagree with then let her know you think it's a mistake, but when she makes a decision your job is to support her in that decision not to repeatedly harp on her about it and make her hate you.
My brother is the husband in this story. He has still not forgiven the inlaws and they have alienated their daughter pretty good too
Had a friend in college borrow my truck when I flew home for a month 1500 miles away. He agreed to the terms of “don’t cross state lines, you only drive it to work and back, and if I find out you did otherwise it’s going to be a big deal.” I wasn’t home a week and I got a call from our group of friends, he had taken the truck down to Connecticut, drove drunk, road raged at someone on the highway and love tapped the back end of a car. The kicker was he backed into his buddy’s dads brand new Lexus and caused $3000 worth of damage. Needless to say I flew home the next day. When confronted about it he basically said “I don’t have the money, it’s your problem” so I have my mother, the insurance company, and the Lexus guy’s dad all climbing down my throat to get me to fix the problem. The dad with the Lexus called me to say he was going to file a police report if I didn’t pay, my mother was screaming about the insurance company dropping me. I went to school for the day, got back and he vanished. Cleaned out a bunch of s*** from the apartment. Stole everybody’s things. The one thing that still makes my blood boil is the fact that one of my good friends that lived with us will vehemently back up the s***bag anytime it’s brought up. I understand that he didn’t screw him over, but just denying it and saying that I need to let bygones be bygones is something I cannot do.
Woah. That is a total scumbag. That would also wind me up too for someone else to back him up on that
Twenty years ago I had three friends show up at my house and when they left my wallet with $80 in it was missing. One of the guys felt bad and gave me $20 back. Three years after that we are in the BK drive thru and he whipped out my wallet. Still salty. His FB friend request has just been sitting there for like two years.
not sure I'd be friends with the wallet thief once the wallet reappeared
A friend told me that they only hang out with me when all of their other options run dry.
I've mentioned this before, but when I was about eight or nine, we had a big project in school which ended with us writing a story. I spent f*****' hours on this thing. It was going to be the best book ever. It was only a matter of time before it was snapped up by some publisher and then it would be the talk of the Scholastic Book Fair, no doubt in my mind. It absolutely had to be in by the time school finished for Christmas, so my teacher could mark it over the break, so I stayed up until about ten o'clock at night for about a week beforehand working on it -- which, you know, is the closest thing you get to an all-nighter when you're about nine. It was my Magnum Opus.
I got back to school in January to find that a) she had lost it, b) she was accusing me of not handing it in, and c) because mine was the only one she couldn't find, she decided to call me out in front of the class about it. I ended up locking myself in the toilet because I was crying so much. Worst still, it later transpired that when it 'turned up after all', she marked it as though it was handed in late, and the b**** still only gave me a middling grade.
So all that hard work and expectations and she misplaced it. You have the right to say b***h!
On a fourth grade math test we had to make a shape that had only four sides, one set of parallel lines, and only ONE right angle (there were probably more requirements but I cant remember) I remember almost crying at my desk and spending 20 minutes on that one question while constantly telling my teacher that it wasnt possible but according to her it was. And the next day we went over the answer key, and the answer had two right angles...
When I was in high school, I was occasionally allowed to drive my family's third car. It had a slow leak in one of the tires, so we were all supposed to check the pressure and put air in it if we needed to.
I picked up a friend to go to a movie, and when we came out one tire was completely flat. It wasn't the one with the leak, so I put the spare on and drove home.
I got absolute hell from my parents about it. How irresponsible I was to not check it, I'd have to pay for the repair, why didn't I call roadside assistance, etc.
Took it to get fixed, repeat the whole lecture as we're dropping it off, and the tech who did it called my mom and told her he'd found a nail in the tire and there was no way I could have seen it coming.
She refused to apologize and I still had to pay for it.
When I was like 10, there was a competition going on in our school and the TV crew were there too. Basically whoever won the race, won the prize. I did not care about the crew, I just wanted to run and win. See, I was a pretty good athlete and when they came to our class they called out the girls and I got up too, excited to participate in another race. But they went like "No, not you. We only want really fair girls."
I was too young to understand why I wasn't selected, but the guys in class were great they kept on cracking jokes till I started laughing (I wasn't crying, just confused and pissed)
You know what f*** them. I would have won if I had participated. The PE teacher knew it and that's why her daughter competed (who's complexion was like mine). So to hell with the crew and the PE teacher.
When I was 10, I (the goody two-shoes nerd) was sat in the back of the bus, next to the class trouble-maker, because we had assigned seats (thanks to him). He took apart someone's science fair project that was being kept back there, and threw a piece out the window.
When someone tattled on him, he blamed it on me, and since the teacher couldn't prove one way or another, they just punished both of us, despite 15 kids coming to my defense. F*** schools and their "fairness" in discipline. All I got was one study hall. Kids today are getting bullied relentlessly because they know that standing up for themselves means getting suspended.
The first day of 8th grade my best friend and friend group informed me that they would no longer be my friend. To this day, 20 years later, I still don't understand how or why things ended up that way. I can only guess because I was the shy nerd of the group and they were trying to fit in with the cool crowd. Regardless, it was a miserable experience that left me with quite a few trust issues.
I remember in 7th grade a group of 4 girls had a VOTE to decide whether I could be part of their friend group. Evidently, I lost. I'm 63 years old now, and I'll never forget.
Came second in food tech competition. Made a lovely main course then Langues de chat biscuits with lemon posset for dessert.
I made this dessert because the judges prior to this day told us "don't make a cake for dessert"
Guess what won first place? A fu***** cake.
In middle school, I had a test with some true/false questions. One said something about the Atlantic Ocean and the west coast (I am in the US). There was some other stuff as well that was true about the Atlantic, but since the Atlantic is the east coast, I marked it false. It was counted wrong and when I protested the teacher said something along the lines of “obviously I meant east coast.” It was only one point and made no difference to my grade in the end, but my 13-year-old usually quiet, teacher’s pet self was ready to f****** riot. I honestly wish she had.
I was at a house party in college and we had to take off our shoes. Some b**** walked home in my leather knee high boots and I’ve never gotten over it.
Edit: for clarity, she left her dirty ass shoes behind for me to go home with, so thanks I guess you shoe-thieving wrench.
I missed out on recognition at my schools big academic assembly for arguably the most important academic results one gets in their schooling career (in my state in Australia) because the teacher I had sent my results to didn't pass on the news.
It's been years and it still fills me with such exasperation.
It was the 3rd grade. I said a joke. Made the “popular” kid laugh really hard but only he heard it. Made me feel great. Then he repeated the joke louder and literally the entire class AND the teacher laughed. 3rd grade me was so mad.
When my old boss pulled out the 2020 calendar (in late 2019) and asked everyone what days off they need so we can plan ahead and around. Everyone was spitting off dates. I didn’t have any plans yet so I didn’t request anything until she specifically asked me if I needed/wanted any dates off.
I shrugged and asked for ONE day around my birthday because why not, and she started mocking me in front of everyone. “It’s just a 23rd birthday, why would you need that off? But ooookkkk ....” obviously rolling her eyes, then started treating me like an idiot the rest of the day.
When I was 21, I was deeply self-conscious about my baldness and I wore a hat everywhere. A friend of mine thought I was worried over nothing, so he set me up on a date with a wonderful woman.
Everything went well at first, but when the hat came off, she shrieked and sprinted to the bathroom. And that was that.
A child in my child’s class at school told their teacher that their mom was taking them out of school for the day of their birthday and so they would be absent on that day. The teacher admonished the child and told them that if they weren’t present the following day that there would be hell to pay. The child was rightly upset and decided to go into school, they hadn’t taken down their homework properly and so did three different pages of work. It was the wrong work. The teacher locked the child in the classroom over lunch, on their birthday.
That my 6th grade teacher refused to believe I had no idea the dude sitting behind me was copying my answers on the test
My brother eating the remainder of my birthday cake behind my back a couple of years ago. After the celebrations I put what was left in the freezer to have some other time as a nice treat (birthday cake being a novelty). The fu**** demolished every last bit of it.
This wasn't just a little slice of cake leftover, at least half of the cake remained until he got his mitts on it. Was absolutely fuming.
When I was in high school someone tagged up the school. They announced there would be a reward for anyone who rats anyone out. I get called in the office and find out I’m suspended for vandalization. I didn’t do it and had no idea who. 4 days later I’m allowed to come back to school because they found who actually did it. I just got an apology.
I was almost kicked out of school for literally watching some kids smash a class window. The teacher justified the punishment saying ' well.... you should have stopped them.' The kids were twice my size.
When I was a freshman in college my mom gave my car to my jailbird brother (every time he got out she’d scrape a bunch of stuff together for his “fresh start”) without ever running it by me. He showed up to my school, changed the battery for me, and then drove away in it. He didn’t tell me his intentions beforehand so it wasn’t until then that I caught on. As he drove off I called my mom and she just said “I’ll help you with a new one.” He moved out of state with that car, wrecked it within weeks, and has since gone back to jail multiple times. Neither of them have given me a sincere apology to this day
I'm back to this one. My family bullied me into loaning my younger sister my amplifier and speakers (because I had a new set) and a piece of furniture from my room. This sister was going away to college and needed stuff to take with her. Instead of getting her stuff of her own, or bringing her stuff? I don't get it. Still don't. I was resistant to loaning these things because this sister had a history of not taking care of things. One day I was told that my parents went out to where she was living to move her from one shitty apartment to a less shitty apartment (she refused to live on campus, but could have). In the process, my furniture, amp, and speakers were all either lost or outright abandoned. There has NEVER been an apology from ANYONE. YES I still hold this against them. So many other things have happened to solidify that THIS is how little respect my family have for me.
Years ago a guy I worked with said he could guess the age of any girl in line. I pointed out the girl closest to us who was a tween and ask what's her age. He then called me a pedo for asking him to guess the age of a girl.
Edit: I should note this job was at an amusement park where some people literally had the job of guessing ages/weights/heights.
When I was in high school, I entered a book quiz and one of the books I chose was Demon Thief by Darren Shan. During the quiz, I was asked what was the main characteristic of the demonata summoned by the punk during the concert. I said it had three heads. Wrong. The answer was that it had a dyed mohawk. Except it was the punk that summoned it that had the mohawk, not the damned demonata! I lost a point because the question-setter could either not read, not write, or couldn't remember the book correctly.
I suppose that in order to REALLY understand this post, one must have read Demon Thief. Because honestly, the top of my head is burning where it all flew right past my brain.
my mum ate a candy I saved for after school. it happened 20 years ago
My mum used to bite the heads off my chocolate Easter rabbits. Every. Damn. Year. It became a battle of wits once I started hiding them from her. She always found them. In the end, it became a tradition. I miss that evil little bunny decapitator.
When I had to get photos printed for a university project so I went to a printer shop and they charged me £2 extra for a DVD with my photos on even though I told them I didn't want the DVD so I didn't get it but they still charged me anyways and threw away my receipt before I could look at it. So with my new photos I went to hand in my project, only to be told that we were doing a peer review of them..... no-one in my group did the project and couldn't care less about it. So I wasted all that time and effort. Still so so salty.
For me it was at junior school probably aged about 7 or 8. In a science experiment lesson we were told to make little boats by putting little sails on bottle corks using cocktail sticks as masts to see whether we could get them to "sail" across a pond. Obviously they won't because a cylindrical cork just immediately rolls over when the centre of gravity is too high. I can't even remember what the teacher was even trying to prove with this task because I immediately knew they wouldn't stand up. All the kids spent ages trying to balance their unstable little cork boats without success. So I got another cocktail stick, stuck a blob of chewing gum on the end of it to made a keel to counterbalance the sail. It worked- the cork boat remained upright. Instead of being congratulated for the solution, I got in to trouble for having chewing gum and was forced to go back to my desk and do written work instead of fun experiments. That was 30 years ago and I remember it like yesterday.
Ah, Man! Punished for being brighter than the teacher.

The second, is when my son was a baby about a month old and I was only 14 I had to take him to the emergency room. I checked him in and we went and sat in the waiting room and next thing I look up and the police are there. The front desk nurse called the police believing that I had kidnapped him. Not because i was very young but because i am half black and white and he is white and couldnt of possibly been my baby. My mother was at work and she had a hard time getting them to let her leave so we sat there for hours, because they wouldnt let us leave with out her coming to pick us up. they didnt take her ID or ask for anything from her, I guess the fact that she is white also made them okay with letting us leave. I will never forget that day and it wasnt my first time experiencing something so horrifying that had to do with race, it is the one that scared me the most.
Approved. I had to drive her to the building to pick everything up for Xmas. She literally got over $5000 in gift cards, plus clothes for everyone, toys, etc. It was infuriating, but she said don't worry about Xmas and that she would get my boys presents cuz she never had before, and she knew I was flat broke after paying deposits, buying furniture, etc. This was the year I had to break it to my small sons that there wasn't a Santa Claus. Xmas morning, I made a big breakfast, cuz that was all I could do for them for Xmas. Got them ready to go to my mom's for Xmas. I'm not expecting a lot, hell 1-2 gifts per son I would've been happy. Get there, my mom has my nephew's show my boys everything they got. Gaming systems, clothes, bikes, u name it. My poor sons are trying not to be sad. My mom says, wait let me get their gift. She came out with ONE gift. A f*****g $5 candy land game for my boys to share. I thought she was joking at first. My boys have tears in their eyes, they don't understa
I am so so sorry your children went through That, it's so harsh. How can they understand at such a young age that they have done nothing wrong? My mum heart is feeling fierce, as I'm sure you must have felt also!

I was in vacation at my mothers friend place and took a bus everyday to the beach. One day i missed the last one to go back to her place. I managed to go to one of my friends camping site desk, ask to borrow the phone to ask her to pick me up because i missed my bus. "Oh i can't i'm busy, that's an half an hour drive" and that was it. I was 13/14 and alone for a day. I slept with my friend at her camping site , her father was a cop, i was safe. The day after when i came out the camping site to take my bus, 4 policemen stopped me, asked me my name and then yelled at me because a helicopter was searching me all this time. I WAS SHOCKED! DAMN. I did everything right, i called right after missing my bus, i managed to find somewhere safe... and then i was yelled at because my mum's friend turned me down? Still now my mother believe that i missed the bus on purpose. I DID NOT!
So she let a 13/14 year old girl take a bus to the beach alone that takes probably over 2 hours (when she has to drive 1,5h without the stops).

I decided to confront my anxiety and volunteered to be the one to write suggestions on the board (I don't remember what the actual activity was). Someone said "scene" and I started writing "seen", realized my mistake, erased it, and promptly completely forgot how to spell "scene". The teacher said "Can we get someone up here who can actually spell?" and I sat down, totally embarrassed. Thanks, grown woman, for making a 14 year old girl feel even more like an outcast.
I keep remembering other horrible stories involving her. Mrs. Brusek from Whitney Young in Chicago. SHAME! (Admins, if I'm not allowed to name people, please delete.)

It was a gift given to her, she didn't even buy it herself. I told my son's to go to the truck. Then I cussed my mom out. I was furious, I told her that we would NEVER be coming back for Xmas again. And I wouldn't have put my kids thru the mental fuckery had I known. I reminded her that my boys were her grandsons also, and how f****d up it was. My boys got nothing for Xmas that year, not even a Xmas tree. And they were all under 6. I still get pissed the f**k off thinking about it. Cuz their fathers family never did s**t for them either, cuz I'm white. I apologize for the novel...
No apologies needed. That is so messed up. There are so many instances in so many lives (as evidenced here) that people are far better off dumping the toxic parents. Life is easier and less dramatic without them. It drives them crazy when you stand up to them. Your still the "child". Theyre the boss because they're the parent. Nope. Kids don't need to be exposed to that. Some people maintain about them knowing their grandparents. Not if they're like that. I guarantee you that at some point in their lives a "chosen" grandparent will come along and be loving and generous and kind. The woman who "raised my mom" was never my grandmother. Another wonderful lady was. Always will be.

So he picked me out of 40 kids to answer the question. As soon as I have a random answer (1 year before the correct year) the teacher laughed out loud. Finger pointing at me, he said “wow, so freaking stupid! Are you really that stupid that you don’t know when our country was founded?!” I was 6. Still have anxiety now if someone calls my name to answer questions publicly.
I have a natural ability at writing. Wrote an essay on the life of a child in a particular country in Africa. Teacher thought it was written too well for a 7th grader, gave me an F with a giant red "plagiarized!" in the margin. Even after asking her to explain how I found a story that fit the assignment so exactly (pre-internet days) she refused to budge. Still a bit angry about that.
Something similar happened to me in the 5th grade. I wrote an essay on "Norooz", the Iranian New Year, explaining the traditions and their symbolism. I read it to the whole class and the teacher asked "where did you get all this info on history and symbolism?" I said I read it in several books and articles. She said "ah then you didn't write it yourself!" It's called research, bitch.

It's still in dispute but pretty much ignored by this point being 18 years ago, and I now have an MA so it's pretty pointless but their misreporting mucked up a lot of stuff for ten years. They claimed that I had only achieved three GCSEs, with five being the expected minimum. I didn't get three though, I got eleven. I have all my certificates clearly showing eleven, my summary certificate states eleven, the exam board states eleven, every single record states eleven. My school reported to everyone that it was three, told people publicly that it was three, created a huge dispute between them/college/exam board by claiming it was three, tried to tar me at my first three jobs by claiming that I was lying about my education despite having an ND and four A-levels which rendered my GCSEs pretty much moot. Tried having at my university too until the uni told them to bog off because I was 26 by that point so my results were meaningless.
What did you do to them? Kidnapped and killed their child? The persistence...

While I was at my dad's house visiting, my mom let my aunt take every record I owned with her as she left to go out of state and three decades later, I still haven't gotten anything back. They moved back home within a year but it's always been, they're in storage ,still packed somewhere. The saddest part is, that they've probably been sitting in a box in her storage room, in her house, but she's just too lazy to look for them. I lost my dad at 23, I really would've loved to had them back.
I was about 13 and my Nanny and I were outside. My younger sister walked by and my Nanny said how beautiful she was going to be when she grew up. She turned to me, patted my hand and said “You’re lucky dear because you are very smart”.
When I was in marketing class in high school (1985), we had to come up with an idea for a business. Mine was the "Hard Rock Hotel." My teacher gave me a "C" and said it wasn't practical and would never work. 10 years later, the Hard Rock Café opened their first very successful Hard Rock Hotel.
I was very excited at the beginning of the fifth grade (10 years old) because I had gotten the best teacher. She was fun and fair and just good. Everyone wanted to be in her class. About two weeks into the school year she looked around the room and stated that the school was going to try something new and "blend" a class with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. She said they had picked two students from her class because they seemed emotionally mature enough to handle the switch. I still remember the way my heart sank. Sure enough, I was one of the two. The teacher who was in charge of that class? Certifiable. She sneaked up on me once and banged two books together just to see if I'd jump. I didn't. B*#ch, I'm a naturally calm person And I've got eight older siblings, it takes more than you to make me jump! But yeah, I'm still mad about that year.
I was excited to go on a weekend ski trip through our high school that was coming up on the weekend. I came home from school a couple of days before the trip and my mom and older sister were having an argument. I was smart enough to stay out of it and went up to my room. A few minutes later, my mom stomped up the stairs, opened my door, and said "and you're not going on your ski trip either!", then slammed the door. She meant it and I didn't get to go...not sure who I'm more p##sed at over 30 years later!
When I was 14 I was selected to represent my county in a national netball tournament, the tournament was set for a Tuesday afternoon and evening, my so called BFF ran to the sports teacher and told her that I couldn’t play as I had to represent the unofficial team her mum had created (to allow her to get a game). I was removed from the county team without anyone asking me and when I found out and protested was told “your spot has been filled” I never got to play for my county again but did play internationally for team GB in my late teens
My year 5 teacher had us do gym without mats and I hurt my neck. My mum wrote a letter saying she didn't want me doing gymnastics without a mat which I gave to the teacher the next day. The teacher SCREAMED at me in front of the class for about 15 minutes, while I sobbed, then took away both my morning break and lunch break without explanation. My mum came to the school the next day to 'discuss' it with her and the headteacher and after that it wasn't mentioned again. But I still feel traumatised by that whole thing. I literally hadn't done anything, it was a fight between two adults. That teacher was never nice to me again either.
During Track practice in 3rd grade I was called off to the side for saying something supposedly inappropriate or whatever. At that point in my life I was an innocent little goody-two- shoes who never did anything wrong. And when I tried telling her this, she didn’t listen. I just got off with a warning but she said if I said anything like it again I would be kicked off. 🙄
When I was in 3rd grade, my teacher was a complete jerk. She made kids cry, locked them in the classroom, and took the kids out if class to watch her kid run a race. My parents luckily moved me to another class.
Mine was in 2007. Divorced, raising my 4 sons by myself without any financial aid from the father. I had given up my rental, anticipating being gone for months for that, had moved in with my mom. The day before Thanksgiving, there was an electrical fire in the basement. I lost everything, because I had stored majority of our stuff there for safe keeping. My mom had custody of my 3 nephews cuz my sister is a deadbeat. Anyway, thankfully I was able to get an apartment within 3 wks. Had Xmas coming, but literally had to refurnish the whole apartment. I had applied for adopt a family that year for Xmas, something I've never done before or since. My mom also applied. Oh, yaasss...It was the first Christmas after my husband and I were married and we dutifully went to his parents' house for the occasion. The sister and her hubby received household/kitchen gear and tons of toys for their 2 year old. Ok, fine. My husband received socks, underwear, a sweat pan & sweat shirt set and a thin nylon insulated vest, all common inexpensive stuff. I received something that so nominal that I don't even remember what it was. His unemployed, jackass, younger BROTHER however received a full size, very high end, full mechanics roll around tool cabinet complete with a full set of mechanics tools. A creeper and a 5 ton floor jack. BTW, he was not a trained mechanic and had only rudimentary automotive repair skills, like changing tires and oil. This was worth over $1,500.00 at the time. My husband's and my gifts were worth about $50.00 combined. Reasoning was, Brother and Sister needed their help, Husband and I didn't, we were employed. Still pissed after 30 years.
I have a few that my brain replays at 3am, but the one in my head right now happened my senior year of HS (12th grade US, I was 16-17) when a kid in my theater class spread a rumor that I had said some mean s**t about his girlfriend. He was a popular baseball player who'd tried to feel me up one day and I think he was worried I'd say something, so he started some s**t so she wouldn't believe me. Everyone in my class (even my teacher, who I loved) believed him, even though I was never mean to anyone. That was over 25 years ago and I'm still pissed. F**k you, Robbie.
In 9th grade I got my best ever annual report. Everyone in class would have to collect it in the front and the teacher would say a word about the student. (Here in Germany, we get grades between 1=best and 6=worst.) When I walked up front, the teacher said "Well, mostly ones here. But what a shame that you only got a three in PE, especially since you are wearing a sports shirt." After that, a classmate went to collect his report and the teacher said "Now, Julian has the best report, I think that deserves applause." Afterwards I asked Julian for his average grade and mine was actually better. I was sooo pissed at the teacher. Everyone knew he was misogynic af.

My Dad told me at the age of 16, (1992) there was no point getting my drivers Licence as I wouldn't ever be allowed to allowed to drive his or his wife cars. Fast-forward 2 years later, my grandfather had died & his Skoda had been sitting unused in a garage for 2 years & he was blind & hadn't been able to drive. My father gave the Skoda to his wife's son so he could drive himself to school & to make it look cool; they took off the Skoda badge off the front bonnet & put a BMW badge in its place. A lot of people were none the wiser & thought this 16 year old kid was driving around a very tidy 2ndhand BMW. He even got pulled over by cops for a kid driving a BMW! I'm now 45 years old & still don't have my Licence. I'm trying & its really difficult. Still pissed that my father completed reneged on his kids driving his cars!
In health class in middle school, the test question was, "What is the biggest organ." Since I read Discover regularly, I had learned that it is the skin. I knew that wasn't in the book, but I answered because it was correct. The teacher marked it wrong. When I told her, she was not interested in learning. She kept it marked wrong. No one who is uninterested in learning should be a teacher. (My sister was a teacher and a good person, but she was also one of those uninterested in gaining knowledge.)
Should have told her the "Willie" and she should know from experience.

I ended up thinking everyone else around me was much better than I am, and I stressed out trying to act “normal” so maybe people would like me again. (Keep in mind I was a 9 year old with adhd so I was really crazy hyper and I think that’s why everyone in my class hated me. Either that or B convinced them all) Everybody loved B. Everyone hated me.So, everyone ELSE started to bully me. One kid even attempted to stab me IN THE EYE with a freshly sharpened pencil, all because I pretended for a second he grew a mustache and then acknowledged his haircut and complimented him. When I dodged, the kid laughed,I ran away to my seat. I was bullied 9 major times, but every day I was bullied minor. We came up to the school 10 times, and nothing. The school tried putting me in a program FOR bullies instead. The teacher gave a vague “tell your mom” and that was that.
First family wedding I attended after turning 18, which meant I could join in with the champagne toast. Took a sip (as is customary, apparently) from the flute, and was planning on saving the rest for after dessert. Didn't get to finish it as when one server was bringing my dessert, another came along, poured my champagne into a bucket, put the flute into a washing up bowl, and left before I could say anything. It wasn't a big deal until I found out there was no bar, no other ways to get a drink, and we were going to be at the party for another six hours. Nowadays I don't go anywhere unless I know I can get home without help. And I always take a drink, too. Just in case.
When I was around 9, my teacher talked about one book. It was my favorite book and I knew it by heart. From what teacher said, it was pretty obvious that she never read it, so I corrected her and explained what really happened. My teacher got mad, accused me of lying and gave me a bad grade..

Ohh boy. GCSE's. For English they told me they didn't have my main coursework I had done the year before (got a A) so told me I had 2 weeks to turn something in. This was back when we would write not type, so I didn't have a copy. I couldn't even remember the title of the assignment and had to make something up so I wouldn't get 0. Maths I was top group, so they made us do an exam and if we liked our result we could do an extra GCSE in statistics. I wasn't bothered, but had to do the exam anyways, didn't bother bringing a calculator, got a C. Then when I asked about doing the 'actual' exam, they said nah sorry you got what you got, tough luck. But hey, it was only English and maths though, so not like they were important... Screw you JCC!
We were poor. Our biological father was a loser. Left the state so he wouldn’t have to pay child support. So my mom was a single parent with 4 young kids. The holidays we would get stuff from garage sales. Or nothing. Well one Christmas my mom was dating this guy. He felt bad for us kids and took us to Kmart on Christmas Eve to pick out whatever we wanted. My sister and I grabbed about 3 things each. Nothing expensive. And a gift or 2 for our older and younger brothers. And I’m sure something for our mother. Long story short. We go to check out. The cashier finishes scanning all the items. And my mom’s boyfriend says I’m not paying for all of this. We were mortified. And embarrassed. And never mind let down. I was 11. My sister was 7. Needless to say. My mom never saw that guy again. But why do that to children who have nothing. We weren’t taking advantage of the situation. I think I picked out a Bon Jovi cassette. A pair of shoes, and a top. That was 35 years ago. And not over it.
I have x 2: 1 for Mum, 1 for Dad. My mother was living in Australia & was I in a different part. She was going back to NZ has she had a lot of stuff in storage & wanted something from the storage locker. I asked if I could borrow her Pfaff Sewing Machine as it was sitting in storage & she was coming back to my part of Australia. She went back to NZ & then came back to Australia without the sewing machine - "I couldn't find the cord" she said that connected from the sewing machine to power outlet. I thought it was odd as she normally I fairly organised person & it would have made sense to keep the cord with the machine. Fastforward a few years & I was talking to my sister about sewing (I had since bought a cheap Brother sewing machine from Lincraft). She mentioned she had a Pfaff sewing machine & I said oh, just like the one mum had! It is mum's Pfaff sewing machine she said. I was pissed & speechless! Was that why "she couldn't find the cord" ? Hmmm

At band practice, not only did a little s**t eat what was left of my BIRTHDAY CAKE - because he went through my lunch box and decided there wasn't any good snacks left in there (!!!) - but one of those twat musicians stole my sheet music. That part doesn't seem too bad, except for one little thing: I basically was playing four instruments, by myself, across 2-3 different parts for every song. I had more work to do by myself than entire sections combined, not just with set, but trying to coordinate every one of those parts. was working my a**e off, with nil recognition, and usually playing something that was completely boring because God forbid a song features the percussion section. We had ONE SONG that we never played, that DID feature my instruments, and I adored - but everyone else hated. We were going to play it ONCE because it was my birthday, and they stole my sheet music so that we couldn't do it. Never forget.
Oh, and the song that required 3 parts across 4 instruments, two of which I had to teach myself on the spot? Never got to play in concert, because the conductor blatantly ignored me when I signaled that no, I WASN'T setup - we had followed another band, so I needed a bit of time to rearrange things so I could play, and I told him that would be the case, and to wait for me to signal that I was ready. He looked right at me and ignored me. Didn't even have my sheet music out when we started. Next time we performed that song, he took away half the parts and gave them to someone who didn't even play in that section, because it was "too much" for me. After almost a YEAR of rehearsing it.

When I was 12, we had to do our french homework in a workbook we’d been given at the start of the year. I handed in my homework, my friend who I sat with watched me walk up to the teachers desk and put it on the pile. My teacher then tried to give me detention for not handing my homework in. I’d never had detention before and was really upset. Didn’t want to go to school. My mum rang the school and explained. I went in to my next french lesson and I found my homework in the supplies cupboard under a stack of paper. Never got an apology, just an awkward ok then, I’ll mark it for you. This teacher left at the end of the year. Always felt she didn’t like kids much.
I have a story that fits perfectly for this: In 3rd grade, my teacher held an unofficial "rock day" just for our class. We were currently learning about all the types of rocks and how they're formed, etc. so it wasn't just an out of the blue random thing. I was absolutely fascinated by rocks and had (still have UwU) a large rock collection of excellent rocks if I do say so myself. I decided to bring a portion of my rock collection, which was separated into a big gallon-sized Ziploc baggie and an estimated 12x4 box. All the other kids had small collections of rather ordinary rocks, so I knew it was my day to be the star! Most of the kids basically rushed over to my desk to check out my rocks, and I monitored from a distance to make sure nobody stole anything. Since it looked like the people were having difficulty seeing all of my glorious rocks inside of the baggie, I decided to pour the rocks from the baggie into the box so they were all in the same place and everyone could marvel
--over every one of my rocks. It all poured surprisingly neatly into the one box, everyone that was at my desk murmured happily because they could see all the rocks, but then came my teacher. To this day, I have no clue why, but she was steaming mad! She shouted across the room, "Hey!" to me, and quickly stormed over. She slammed the box closed and demanded that I put my rocks away and sit at my desk until rock day was over and we resumed our class time learning. I. Was. Shattered. Rock day was supposed to be my special day, where I could show off my collection of the one thing that was of my greatest interest at the time. And my 3rd grade teacher quite randomly told me I had to sit down and put all my rocks away. Like, I couldn't even go check out everyone else's collections. I had to sit at my desk looking like the only kid that didn't bring/didn't have a collection of rocks. Still so angry about it.

A more childish grudge, but for Valentine's day in 3rd grade, the teacher gave everyone plastic cups with a Hershey Kiss in it and told us that she was going to add hot water, cold water, or room temperature water into the cup to see which made the chocolate melt the fastest. I told the teacher that the hot water would melt the cup (it was really hot) but she brushed it off, telling me that it wouldn't. It melted, and she didn't even acknowledge that I had predicted it. I was pretty annoyed for a while afterwards.
When I was turning 10, my sis was 5. I didn't even have a birthday party, just invited my friends over. My sister (b-day in January) cried and screamed and threw a fit that she wanted a party too. It was June. My mom ended my gathering early, went out and bought streamers, balloons, presents, a cake, set it all up for my sis, invited all her friends over. I cried in my room for the rest of the day. It came up at a family dinner a year later and Mom was like, "Well she was little then..." and sis was like "I'm just more important than you, nobody really cares about your dumb birthday." WTF
Growing up my single parent struggling Mum saved up and brought me a small chemistry set for Christmas. I was so excited, I so wanted one. My Dad found out what she was doing and brought the bigger version. I hated it and was disgusted he tried to out do her. I still remember my Mums face when she saw it. Needless to say Dads set was dumped in the cupboard and I had hours and hours of fun with my Mums one. Still angers and upsets me now.
Yikes. But I'm glad I met a fellow chemistry nerd. Did you hear about how Oxygen and Magnesium got together? Like, OMG!

My dad decided to move me to the worst f*****g school in my state because I was in trouble. I was a very academically smart student and he threw away all of my hard work for nothing. Ruined my future IB diploma too
I've had two packages go to the wrong address. Each time the people who live there kept the boxes as if they'd won some sort of cosmic gift basket giveaway.
This isn’t be, but this happened to my friend in 4th grade. I was just a witness. So, some mean girl in our grade (who used to be our friend, but obviously is not anymore) randomly elbowed by friend in the chest for no reason. So then my friend elbowed her back. Then the recess/lunch monitor only yelled at my friend, and not the mean girl. Makes me boil up to this day.
I told my parents I didn't need to take my medicine (anxiety and ADHD) My dad replies, "You should probably take extra." I yelled, "Can't you shut your mouth for once!" I immediately apologize. He still hasn't.
Update: I brought it up to him today and he apologized.

Bully at school decided that ball I had, belonged to him! He proceeded to punch me in the eye! As far as I know, he was not punished and I spend the whole class sobbing at my desk! It was 5th grade! Teacher did nothing! I f*****g still hate you Miss Gallagher!!!!!!! And the bully, hope your life was s**t!
My HS band director and I never got along. He never once said anything nice to me, despite my being a talented musician and working hard. My senior year, I decided to fake playing at all competitions. I didn't want to contribute to his getting any bigger trophies. In practice, I as always, lit it up. I noticed he always walked in my direction during a certain part of the performance. One day, he stopped us and said to me "play that part", I played it (very well as always). The rest of the band started to clap for me. His response?? "Don't clap for him!! Worry about yourselves! Now play it right!" I was glad I faked it during that season. He was a horrible band director and barely a 'teacher'. F him.
It seems teachers don't understand how they can cause some much life-long pain in children and on through their adult years. I've been there and it still hurts.
My little sister deleting my 5+ year old Pokémon game lol. She never had much interest in games but took my Gameboy advanced and made her own game, deleting mine, so she could impress a boy by pretending to be some sort of hip gamer girl or whatever. I had already beat it but kept playing on it to catch all the Pokémon. I even made an army of all Sandshrews (my favorite) that I had trained up really well. After I found the stolen game in her room she had only played it for a few hours then hid it in a drawer. That was like 10 years ago haha
I have a super messed up story from elementary school that still infuriates me. So this happened in 5th grade, and I had a good group of friends, did lots of extracurriculars like drama club and choir, but there was a mean group of popular girls that chose me as their target and made my life hell. They wrote fake letters as me, saying I was going to burn and murder them, stab them, you name it. All fake stuff, but those lies spread like wildfire and next thing I had teachers asking me if my home life was ok, counselors calling my parents, talking punishment. The principal got involved and it took my mom a lot of work to get me out of trouble. Those girls weren't done though. They told everyone that I threatened to R*PE them! I didn't even know what that word meant! It got worse and worse, to the point that I was pulled out of school mid year and had to go to a charter school. It was insanity. They never got punished. Saw one of them last time I was home. I hope her life is hell.
I had to stop reading because all this school related things are making my f*****g blood boil, you leave your children to unknown people that should help them learn new things and instead they get bullied, mistreated, no one listens to them and if they do the right thing they get bad grades or worse. Schools right now are plain stupid, we need to control teachers and professors more, to be sure we have healthy and smart people guiding our children. I know because I was there and after 20+ years they still have to encounter my rage.
When I was in 3rd grade my “best friend” (who I cut off years ago) I asked her if she thought I was pretty. Mind you I had low self esteem and I thought if anyone could tell me I was pretty it would be my best friend, right? Well her answer is was “no, not really.” This was nearly 30 years ago but I still remember it.
25 years ago, or so, I really really wanted to be a delegate to the annual meeting of my professional organization. I had been an unofficial observer at others and knew how great they were. That was the year, the local chapter couldn't get anyone that interested; except for me, of course. So they decided you "could" be a delegate, if you had attended the previous 12 monthly meetings and be active in smaller groups. So I did and I was. But when they announced the delegates, it was folks who were wanted a trip but hadn't fulfilled the conditions. They were "important" & had influence; where as I was minimally working and not very important. When I stated that I had done all they had asked; so why wasn't I named? Their response was they had decided to change the rules as "no one" seemed all that interested. That was when I decided I might as well stand up & be the vocal b&%$ that they thought I was. Up until then I had been the polite, quiet helpful one in the back. So b*&%$ville it was.
Had a science project in grade 6(+/-). I got ridiculed by the teacher and compared to John. Why couldn't I do one like John? Just look at John's! John's is so well done! Yeah well, my grade six project would look like that if my parent's did it for me too. *&%! Nowiski Still remember the twit's name and its been 50 years.
When I was 9, I was forgotten to be 'star of the day' by my schoolteacher.
For it was pretty recent. I am going into the high school of my dreams, and I got an 100% scholarship for it. Every year at my school, the 8th graders graduate and whatnot and have an awards ceremony. There are two important awards: 1st, the highest GPA, which a classmate of mine got and she honestly deserved it. The 2nd, a similar award for the most well-rounded student, academically good, never getting into trouble, and having service hours etc. (I'm Catholic). One of my good friend's sister was saying the entire time that our principal was reading the description of the award, "it's for Jack (I will not disclose my real name, I'll just use Jack) I know it." Lo and behold, I don't get it. A classmate of mine (who ruined one of our group projects two years ago after I was up until 1 am doing it) somehow miraculously got it. The girl with the highest GPA has a twin sister, and I was thinking, "oh, well she can't get it, so her sister probably will or maybe even I will." I was scholars
(2/2) disregard the I was scholars. What I meant to say was... The principal completely disregarded the scholarship I received and the one my friend received (he got a 50% scholarship to the same school). I was thinking "man f**k this f**k him. F**k the school. Thank God I'm literally about to leave for good." My entire class was wearing these long white gowns, and after the ceremony we all had to go back to our classroom to put our gowns back on hangers. Well, I'm there with a few of my friends (there's only 8 boys in my class, me being one of them, and there were about half of them in the classroom at that time) and the very friend whose sister said that the outstanding scholar award (that's the second award's name) was going to be for me tells me, "bro you got robbed." I responded, "yeah. I mean, I don't give a s**t anymore." That is my entire rant. Thank you for reading all of this.

I was about 9 I think. I saved up my money and bought my Girl Scout Leader a Christmas gift. I found she regifted it to someone else. I mentioned it and her reply was, "you gave it to me, so it was mine to do with what I wanted" Still stings 50 years later.
I brought an Elsa doll to my first grade class for show and tell one day, and a girl stole her shoes. HER SHOES. Not the doll, not the clothes, SHOES. Another kid told me, but the girl who stole the shoes left before I could tell her to give them back. My doll was forever shoeless because you can't buy just the shoes for an Elsa doll. I'm still super bitter about it even though that was forever ago. Frick you Aliyah.
Incase you haven't noticed, a lot of this s£!+ happened to people when they were children. Children. They don't process things like adults do and can cause deep wounds. It's obvious that so many people lived with f'd up parents in a continually toxic and sometimes downright abusive situations. Parents, who are supposed to look out for us did not come to their defence. Belittled and accused of being liars. Then the crap from school where you're stuck in that for an entire school year. A child living with that is so damaging. I experienced both. I dont forget it. Its imprinted. Forgive? Well, there's just some stuff.... Forget. Its imprinted. Move on. Ok. But its always there. I'm not bitter, but justifiably, quietly angry. Its not always in the forefront. But it's there. And do not throw God and religion at me. God understands more than you know.
Load More Replies...For me it was at junior school probably aged about 7 or 8.

Load More Replies...It was at the very first History class at first grade. The teacher asked the whole class at which year our country was founded. No one had a clue so the class was dead silent.
Load More Replies...Still bitter at my secondary school.

They moved back home within a year but it's always been, they're in storage ,still packed somewhere. The saddest part is, that they've probably been sitting in a box in her storage room, in her house, but she's just too lazy to look for them.
So I drew a f*cking ant: 3 ovals, couple of straight lines for antennas, six angled lines for legs; elapsed time all of 30 seconds. Why, yes, I *can* hold a grudge! :-)
When I was in my school spelling bee(13) it was down to the finals. They gave me a word, and I spelled it correctly(can't remember what word). Then they conversed and I was like ?.

Load More Replies...For me, it was this girl. Let’s call her B. B was a huge brat. She bullied me every day about my worth “you don’t get to talk”.
Suggestion: We all avoid people as much as humanly possible, especially those related to us.
Ohh boy.
Hmmm
I was in elementary school when I came home excited after learning about the Aztecs. I told my parents all about what I had learned, and I was shocked when my face was slapped and I was punished for lying because THEY had never heard of the Aztecs before so they couldn't possibly exist.
I had to stop reading these half way through, they made me so mad.
I got out of college with a barely road-safe car and $60k in debt because I had younger siblings that still needed to go to college so I couldn't get any help from my well-off parents. My younger sister and brother got out of college debt-free with brand new cars. I mentioned it one time and I was the ungrateful one who questioned their love for me.
Load More Replies...For me, it's that I ALWAYS get in trouble for everything. If me and my brother get into a fight, and he started slashing me with his 6mm nails for no reason, I tell on him to my mom and then it's MY FAULT that he got "mad' at me and that I didn't protect myself. if I did protect myself and fight back, it'd ALSO be my fault for hurting him. both my brother and mom are the worst bitches out there
When I was 12, we had to do our french homework in a workbook we’d been given at the start of the year.
Load More Replies...I was about 10 or 11. We had to draw a clown in art class and I drew one of a crying clown. My teacher FAILED my work. I questioned her, and she said that clowns must smile. They can't cry. I'm still extremely angry about this, more than two decades on. Art is supposed to be about creativity, and my teacher failed me not because I didn't hand in my work, but because she didn't agree with what I drew.
On my 13th birthday my mother married her second husband. It was my present. Never got over it. They divorced before I was 15.
When I was 19 I worked nights in a care home. One night an old guys colostomy bag burst, poor guy was covered in excrement. Day staff failed to mention it was the last one. The supervisor tried to call the owners, manager and owners son (who got paid a lot of money and done Jack s**t btw) noone answered so she called the hospital who said they could provide some if someone collected. I was asked to drive up which I did. The next time I was on night shift I got shouted at by the owner for leaving the home one staff member down. I'm still angry about it 20 years on lol

Load More Replies...Waiting outside for a family member to pick me up for a family lunch! Waiting and waiting, until I finally called one of them! They were all at lunch! One thought the other was picking me up!!!!! I am still hurt to this day! What bothers me most, is that I would never have left someone waiting or had lunch without them!
